SQL query performance optimization (TimesTen)

Hi community, I need some help with TimesTen DB query optimization. I made some measures with Java profiler and found the code section that takes most of the time (this code section executes the SQL query). What is strange that this query becomes expensive only for some specific input data. Here’s the example. We have two tables that we are querying, one represents the objects we want to fetch (T_PROFILEGROUP), another represents the many-to-many link from some other table (T_PROFILECONTEXT_PROFILEGROUPS). We are not querying linked table. It’s not about queries precompilation (the first one is precompiled too, as same queries happened earlier). We have DB indices for all columns used here: T_PROFILEGROUP.M_ID, T_PROFILECONTEXT_PROFILEGROUPS.M_ID_OID and T_PROFILECONTEXT_PROFILEGROUPS.M_ID_EID. My questions are: Why querying the same set of tables yields such a different performance for different parameters? Which indices are involved here? Is there any way to improve this simple query and/or the DB to make it faster? UPDATE: to give the feeling of size: Command> select count(*) from T_PROFILEGROUP; < 183840 > 1 row found. Command> select count(*) from T_PROFILECONTEXT_PROFILEGROUPS; < 2279104 > 1 row found.

Create custom component which contains Combobox and Datagrid. Application conations two button 1) Same Window and 2) New Window. (Label of two button) When you click on “Same Window” button your custom component should get added dynamically in your application. And when you click on “New Window” button your custom component should get open in different window (it should get shifted from application and should appear in Window component). Issue faced:- Clicking on Combobox, list is not getting open as change event doesn’t get fired in Native Window as it looses reference from main application. Issue with DataGrid in Native window (AIR). • DataGridEvent.COLUMN_STRETCH event get affected if try to open datagrid in Native Window. • DataGridEvent get fired but takes long time or even stuck while column stretch Note: Application is an Desktop Application. Pointers to Derived Class Objects Losing vfptr

To begin, I am trying to write a run-of-the-mill, simple Ray Tracer. In my Ray Tracer, I have multiple types of geometries in the world, all derived from a base class called "SceneObject". I begin by creating a scene and filling it with objects outside of the Parser::trace() method. Now for some odd reason, I cast Ray for i=j=0 and everything works wonderfully. However, by the time the second ray is cast all of the objects stored in my Scene no longer recognize their vfptr's! I stepped through the code with a debugger and found that the information to all the vfptr's are lost somewhere between the end of getColor() and the continuation of the loop. However, if I change the arguments of getColor() to use a Scene& instead of a Scene, then no loss occurs. What crazy voodoo is this?

I want to display info about each venue when clicked, however using my code above it just puts all info in one box when clicked, not individually. Hoping it is a simple fix! Hoping once I fix this I can work out a way to get the info window displaying if I hover over the div in the html.

Javascript: Can't control parent of descendant nodes.

I'm creating elements (level 1) dynamically which in turn create elements (level 2) themselves. However, the children of level 2 elements have "body" as their parent. What is happening though is that when I move onto the language list, and I go past Germany (~50% down the list?), the hover() loses focus and closes the original menu, which closes the language menu. Any idea's what is causing the issue? Any ideas how to fix the issue? I have tried the hoverIntent() plugin as well to no avail.

weird space in IE - Any suggestions?

The below table is the only element inside a body tag - This displays fine in Firefox 3 as i expect it to be but it does not look good in IE7. There is a weird space just between the nested table and the row above. I have this broken php upload script

I have this script for uploading a image and content from a form, it works in one project but not the other. I have spent a good few hours trying to debug it, I am hoping someone could point out the issue I might be having. Where there are comments is where I have tried to debug. The first error I got was the "echo invalid file" at the beginning of the last comment. With these specific areas commented out the upload name and type that I am supposed to be grabbing from the form is not being echoed, I am thinking this is where the error is occurring, but can't quite seem to find it. Drop down menus and pathetic art of styling

Sorry folks, I must be brain-dead or something but I can't get the styling on these drop-down menus to cooperate. I have the color and the font right, but I have unwanted spaces between the list elements and the a and the a:hover sizes should be the same. I would appreciate some help getting this to work correctly. How to make a form using ajax, onchange event, reload to SAME page

I've been studying this for a while and I'm not sure if I'm going about this the right way because every form I setup according to examples, it doesn't do what I need. I need to setup a form that will: set session when you select from dropdown menu not reload/refresh page (i've read that using AJAX solves this) submit and stay on SAME page (confused because most AJAX examples send it to different process.php page which is supposedly "invisible" but it doesn't "stay" on the same page, it redirects. Basically, client selects quantity of 1 to 10. If they select "2"... it does NOT reload the page.. but it DOES set a session[quantity]=2. Should be simple... but do I POST to same page as form? or POST to different page and it somehow redirects? Also, one test I did it kept pasting my "echo session[quantity]" down the page like 7, 2, 3, 5, etc. etc. each time instead of replacing it. I would paste code but it's all over the place and I'm hoping for direction on which methods to use. Feel I need to start all over again. Why are items being placed below?

This is really confusing and I have never had this occur. For my computer, it is fine. But for anyone else's computer I have tried, it screws up. So on my site, designatease.com , the second bar down, it places the fifth item down below the first four. I am not sure why it is doing this. I want them to span across the bar but the stop at about half way. Help me out SOF. Object oriented n-tier design. Am I abstracting too much? Or not enough?

Hi guys, I'm building my first enterprise grade solution (at least I'm attempting to make it enterprise grade). I'm trying to follow best practice design patterns but am starting to worry that I might be going too far with abstraction. I'm trying to build my asp.net webforms (in C#) app as an n-tier application. I've created a Data Access Layer using an XSD strongly-typed dataset that interfaces with a SQL server backend. I access the DAL through some Business Layer Objects that I've created on a 1:1 basis to the datatables in the dataset (eg, a UsersBLL class for the Users datatable in the dataset). I'm doing checks inside the BLL to make sure that data passed to DAL is following the business rules of the application. That's all well and good. Where I'm getting stuck though is the point at which I connect the BLL to the presentation layer. For example, my UsersBLL class deals mostly with whole datatables, as it's interfacing with the DAL. Should I now create a separate "User" (Singular) class that maps out the properties of a single user, rather than multiple users? This way I don't have to do any searching through datatables in the presentation layer, as I could use the properties created in the User class. Or would it be better to somehow try to handle this inside the UsersBLL? Sorry if this sounds a little complicated... HTML, CSS: how can I merge these divs in order to use float:left property on their children ?

hi, I've 2 sets of thumbnails and in each set I'm displaying them one nearby each other in 4 columns using float:left. I would like to "merge" the 2 sets (but I cannot change the html code) because I want the thumbnails of the second set floating right after the last thumbnail of the first set. In other terms, if in the last row there are only 2 thumbnails and the last 2 columns are empty, the thumbnails of the second set should fill the empty columns of the last row of the first set. Using JS script for "raining images". Can't seem to hide pre-loaded image

I am trying to hide an image in a script pre-loading on the page. Below script makes images "rain" down the screen onClick. It functions well, but it displays the pre-loaded image itself on the page before the button is clicked. I'm trying to hide the image until the button is pressed.
