  • ant cpptask with ivy

    A company I am working for, has some c binaries build with ant using cpptask. They use ivy to retrieve shared c libraries every time we start a build which wastes a significant amount of time comparing the revisions and downloading, when then only need to be download if the header files have changed. I have added a target which sets a var, which causes the build to skip over the ivy steps but I'd like a better solution. I see that cpptask creates a file history.xml and only rebuilds to binary if any of the sources have change. I'd like to know if there is way to independently test if the binary needs to build, and it does, I'd like it fire off the ivy targets. I'd also like for a variable to be set if the binary was rebuilt so that I can conditionally start an rpm generation task

  • How do I change the JAVA_HOME for ant?

    I'm doing java work on a class server where I don't have root. Whenever I try to compile using ant, it points to the wrong directory (/usr/tomcat instead of /usr/tomcat/jre ). One of the things we were told to do when setting up our user accounts was to add export JAVA_HOME=/usr/tomcat/jre to the .bashrc file. I don't know if that was supposed to take care of the problem but it doesn't seem to. So, how can I change the JAVA_HOME property for ant but only for when I run ant? EDIT: echo $JAVA_HOME points to /usr/tomcat/jre echo $JAVA_HOME\bin points to /usr/tomcat/jrebin The problem is when I normally run ant I get this error: Unable to locate tools.jar. Expected to find it in /usr/tomcat/lib/tools.jar Buildfile: build.xml compile: [javac] Compiling 1 source file to /home/ejm244/build/classes BUILD FAILED /home/ejm244/build.xml:9: Unable to find a javac compiler; com.sun.tools.javac.Main is not on the classpath.     I have downloaded and built the latest version of mono (2.6.3), on Linux box (9.10). I have successfully built the C# compiler mcs, but it seems that the vb compiler vbnc was not built. Are there any special instructions required to build vbnc (other than configure, make, make install)? Has anyone managed to successfully build vbnc? - if yes, what do I need to do to build the vbnc executable?

(the windows and ubuntu hosts are sitting within one network segment (In LAN).) 3.   • How Do I grep For non-ASCII Characters in UNIX

    I have several very large XML files and I'm trying to find the lines that contain non-ASCII characters. I've tried the following: grep -e "[\x{00FF}-\x{FFFF}]" file.xml But this returns every line in the file, regardless of whether the line contains a character in the range specified. Do I have the syntax wrong or am I doing something else wrong? I've also tried: egrep "[\x{00FF}-\x{FFFF}]" file.xml (with both single and double quotes surrounding the pattern).

    Hi, I wish to reverse engineer any web-page into a logical representation of the page. For example, if a web page has a menu, then I want a logical menu structure perhaps in XML. If the webpage has an article, I want a article XML node, if it has a title for the article I want a title XML node. Basically, I want the logical form of the web-page without any of the user interface. This logical model could either be objects in code or XML it doesn't matter, the important part is that it has identified what everything on the page means.

So how can I make a mingw32 build of the socket library so I can make a windows build using the source provided?

I think I understand, because of "reference transfer".     I have an application which uses a custom title bar. However, when my application launches, I noticed that the default title bar is shown for a brief period of time. My problem is I don't want to show the default title bar while my application is loading. How do I hide the title bar while my application is loading so that there will be no hint of it and then show it afterwards? So far, I tried the following solutions but none have worked: Hide the title bar in XML and then set the custom title bar in code. (Problem encountered: I received an error message saying: "You cannot combine custom titles with other title features".) In XML: <item name="android:windowNoTitle">true</item> In onCreate method: requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE); //... some code goes here getWindow().setFeatureInt(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE, R.layout.title_header); Set the size of the title bar in XML to 0.     Hi, A lot of interesting code/projects are implementations of protocols, eg SNMP. How are projects like these, which depend on implementing a certain format, developed? Is the process something like get the guidelines of the protocol and then implement code which follows it. For example, XML-RPC is about transmitting XML docs between client/server, so the documentation on this protocol must outline the structure of the XML documents and then the way the transportation between client and server works, so the coder will implement this sort of functionality (xml doc construction, networking between the client and server). Projects I am thinking of (not to develop) are C# libraries which can interpret .PSDs, make VHDs, etc. So if I was to develop a C# app to implement .AI files (Illustrator files), what would be the steps I would look at (such as contacting Adobe, etc)? Is this the way such projects are developed?

    Hello, I created java enterprise application and it consists of ejb module and web application. I have plain old xml file in source packages folder in package "common" in my ejb module. I want to pass this file path in File() constructor for one class in ejb module. How do i do it? If i pass any of the below it doesn't work :- new File("abc.xml"); //this take file from glassfish/domains/domain1 :( new File("./abc.xml"); I don't want to pass hardcode path like /home/administrator/appname/module/etc.. I want the path relative from my ejb module. Please help me. I've tried all things. Actually when i created a class in same folder and then try classname.getResource("abc.xml").getPath() it works fine. But what if i don't have any class in that folder. Waiting for your replies

  • storing huge amount of records into classic asp cache object is SLOW

    we have some nasty legacy asp that is performing like a dog and i narrowed it down to because we are trying to store 15K+ records into the application cache object. but that's not the killer. before it stores it, it converts the ADO stream to XML then stores it. this conversion of the huge record set to XML spikes the CPU and causes all kinds of havoc on users when it's happening. and unfortunately we do this XML conversion to read the cache a lot, causing site wide performance problems. i don't have the resources to convert everything to .net. so that's out. but i need to obviously use caching, but int his case the caching is hurting instead of helping. is there a more effecient way to store this data instead of doing this xml conversion to/from every time we read/update the cache?

    Assume this simple XML fragment in which there may or may not be the xml declaration and has exactly one NodeElement as a root node, followed by exactly one other NodeElement, which may contain an assortment of various number of different kinds of elements. <?xml version="1.0"> <NodeElement xmlns="xyz"> <NodeElement xmlns=""> <SomeElement></SomeElement> </NodeElement> </NodeElement> How could I go about selecting the inner NodeElement and its contents without the namespace? For instance, "//*[local-name()='NodeElement/NodeElement[1]']" (and other variations I've tried) doesn't seem to yield results. As for in general the thing that I'm really trying to accomplish is to Deserialize a fragment of a larger XML document contained in a XmlDocument. I am deploying the war to JBoss 5.1 and the jar in question contains a persistence.xml file that I don't want.     I have a web application that reads the values of a few input fields (alphanumeric) and constructs a very simple xml that is passes to the server, using jQuery's $.ajax() method. The template for that xml is: <request> <session>[some-string]</session> <space>[some-string]</space> <plot>[some-string]</plot> ... </request> Sending such requests to the server when the inputs contain Finnish diacritical characters (such as ä or ö) raises a problem in terms of character encoding with different browsers. For instance, if I add the word Käyttötarkoitus" in one of the inputs, here's how Chrome and Firefox send EXACTLY the same request to the server: Chrome: <request> <session>{string-hidden}</session> <space>2080874</space> <plot>Käyttötarkoitus</plot> ... </request> FF 12.0: <request> <session>{string-hidden}</session> <space>2080874</space> <plot>Käyttötarkoitus</plot> ... </request> And here is the code fragment that I use to send the requests: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: url, dataType: 'xml;charset=UTF-8', data: xml, success: function(xml) { // }, error: function(jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) { // } }); Why do I get different encodings and how do I get rid of this difference?     Hello all, I am moving a web app from gwt 1.5 to gwt 2.0. I am trying to connect to the a database resource I have in my context.xml file.In gwt 1.5 I had set up root.xml in tomcat-conf-gwt-localhost. I have no idea where to set up the resource in GWT 2.0. I tried placing my context.xml file in war-META-INF with no luck. Anyone have an idea where to place the context.xml file to be able to use a jndi database resource in GWT 2.0? Thanks in advanced
