  Hi, I am working on an appliication which is running in cakephp and i am using ajax query inbetween. In all the cases for all the ajax post i have used the url as var ht = $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "http://172.20.52.99/FormBuilder/index.php/forms/viewChoices/"+attribute_id, async: false }).responseText; var myObject = eval('(' + ht + ')'); is there any way in cakephp where i can give my base url as http://172.20.52.99/FormBuilder/index.php/ and to call the baseurl in all the places i want.   I have the following code to build a custom taxonomy for my portfolio: add_action( 'init', 'create_pc_db_taxonomies', 0 ); function create_pc_db_taxonomies() { register_taxonomy( 'type', 'post', array( 'hierarchical' => true, 'label' => 'Type', 'query_var' => true, 'rewrite' => array( 'slug' => 'type' ) ) ); } I have created a portfolio category on my site (I removed the /category/ base) and have created some items and set the custom taxonomies against them. So I get the following setup: http://domain.com/portfolio/item1/ but what I want is for the taxonomy links to look like this: http://domain.com/portfolio/type/web and then this will show a list of portfolio items related to the that type. At the moment they are root like http://domain.com/type/web I have tried add portfolio/type as the taxonomy slug but it just creates a 404 but i'm pretty sure this is the wrong way of doing it anyways.   I have a grid layout that holds a limited 6 items per screen. This set number is just a base for the app and make it look and feel better so it must stay set to that. To get passed this and to add some flash to the app, I want to animate a style of screen change. For instance, when a finger is dragged left, push the current view to the side and bring the next it, very similar to how a gallery does it, except I would like it to be able to scroll vertical as well. • NoMethodError when trying to invoke helper method from Rails controller

  I'm getting a NoMethodError when trying to access a method defined in one of my helper modules from one of my controller classes. My Rails application uses the helper class method with the :all symbol as shown below: class ApplicationController < ActionController::Base helper :all . . end My understanding is that this should make all of my controller classes automatically include all of the helper modules within the app/helpers directory, therefore mixing in all of the methods into the controllers. Is this correct? If I explicitly include the helper module within the controller then everything works correctly.

I am looking for a good ldap library on Django, that would allow me to manage my ldap server : adding, modifying, deleting entries for groups, users, and all kind of objects The library django-ldapdb looked promising, it offers a Model base class that can be used to declare ldap objects in a Django fashion (which is what we ideally want), however we've had some bugs with it, and furthermore it seems like it is not maintained any more. Does somebody know a good library that could do the trick ? Otherwise I guess I'll just try to improve and debug django-ldapdb ... Thanks !

• JavaScript Drag and Drop Grid With Elements of Different Sizes.

  I need to be able to drag and drop boxes of differing dimensions on the same grid. JQuery UI seems to offer 80% of what I'm after particularly the sortable grid the have on their demo page. The only problem is that this grid only works with boxes of identical dimensions. My requirement is to be able to have the same functionality but with boxes that are sized as multiples of the base unit. For example - let's say the standard box size is 300x300px I would also like the opportunity to show on the same grid a 300x600px and a 600x600px box. There's no requirement to display boxes that are not multiples of the dimensions of the smallest box size.

  We have some Well-Attributed DB code, like so: [Display(Name = "Phone Number")] public string Phone { get; set; } Since it is quite generic we'd like to use it again, but with a different string in the Name part of the attribute. Since it's an attribute it seems to want things to be const, so we tried: const string AddressType = "Student "; [Display(Name = AddressType + "Phone Number")] public string Phone { get; set; } This seems to work alright, except that having a const string means we can't overwrite it in any base classes, thereby removing the functionality that we originally were intending to add, and exposing my question: Is there a way to use some sort of variable inside of an attribute so that we can inherit and keep the attribute decorations?

  I'm in a situation where I need to get all articles that are tied to a User through 2 tables: article_access: gives users privilege to see an article article_favorites: of public articles, users have favorited these So in ActiveRecord you might have this: class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :article_access_tokens has_many :article_favorites def articles unless @articles ids = article_access_tokens.all(:select => "article_id").map(&:article_id) + article_favorites.all(:select => "article_id").map(&:article_id) @articles = Article.send(:scoped, :conditions => {:id => ids.uniq}) end @articles end end That gives me basically an articles association which reads from two separate tables. Question is though, what's the right way to do this? Can I somehow make 1 SQL SELECT call to do this?

  Hi guys! For my small hobby project I need to emit machine code from C++ program in runtime. I have base address 0xDEADBEEF and want to write something like this: Assembler a((void*)0xDEADBEEF); a.Emit() << Push(Reg::Eax) << Push(Reg::Ebx) << Jmp(0xFEFEFEFE); Inline assembler isn't my choice because generated machine code is dependent of the program state. Does anybody know any existing library for doing this? If no, would it be a good idea to develop one from scratch and make it open source? (I mean, will anybody ever use this library if it existed?)

  Hi, I'm porting my application from Winforms+XNA to WPF (+ XNA?) and I would like to know if the combination WPF + XNA makes sense or not. If it brings some advantages or if it is rather a bad choice. A few points about my game: It's a desk game with simple 2D animations (movement) Main window contains panels like available games/players etc. + console. • how can I open eclipse and see the project view I last looked at?

  I'm completely mystified. I do not understand why Eclipse does not show me my list of projects! And all the answers I've seen to similar questions do not mention any 'go here and do that' type of answers. I tried 'Import/General/Existing Projects into Workspace/browse-to...' but that told me the project was already in the workspace. But I KNEW THAT! The project menu does not have an 'open project' option!!!! There is no 'open workspace' option. How do people open Eclipse and 'resume working'??? What is the single, dependable, repeatable option for opening the 'project tree' to show my project? [or tell me my expectations that Java people are smarter are way off base!] Thanks, Kimball

  I looked already and could't find anyting good. So a question is, are there any good web frameworks that would allow to easily develop GUI for the majority of high end phones? By this I mean It would have to work the same on majority of high end phones (forget the low cost ones) It would have to simplify the development and hide the ugly details from developer Clear design and good documentation. Also some stability on the market. The focus in on good looking and easy to make GUI. Javascript is only a plus. So basically I am looking for something like jQuery or maybe ExtJS for phone development. EDIT: It would be a big plus if it could be consumed in Delphi EDIT 2: If it was not clear, I am looking for a web base solution. So the target is HTML output and not native code.

In the sql logs we see many sql requests which don't make sense to us: Phrase Load (7.4ms) SELECT "phrases".* FROM "phrases" WHERE "phrases"."id" IS NULL LIMIT 1 User Load (0.4ms) SELECT "users".* FROM "users" WHERE "users"."id" IS NULL LIMIT 1 These add up significantly. Is there a way to prevent querying against null ids? • How to avoid recursion in Java SecurityManager checkConnect?

  I'm trying to take control of a Java code base that does lots of un-documented things. I'm using a custom SecurityManager to check permission requests. Specifically, my code is checking SocketPermission checks -- checkConnect. checkConnect is called when the application tries to resolve a host name to IP address and to connect to a specific IP address. The problem is that I don't know how to properly call host name resolution (InetAddress.getAddressByName) without falling into infinite recursion, because normally checkConnect is called even when I resolve the name from inside the SecurityManager.checkConnect. I have read on the web that I have to call the address resolution from a doPrivileged block, but no idea how. P.S. Is this possible without writing any policy files?

• adding a UIScrollView as a superview of 2 UITextview made no view can be scrolled

  hi i have 2 textview in a viewcontroller. the 1st textview is not editable, but the 2nd is editable. i want to make both of them scroll in the same position and size when the keyboard is appear. I think i have to use UIScrollView as base of both of textview. And then i add the UIScrollView in xib (bot of textview are made in xib too). and this is the picture if this hierarchy : in the viewDidLoad method, i add this code : - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [scrollTextView addSubview:lineNumberTextView]; [scrollTextView addSubview:_codeTextView]; [lineNumberTextView bringSubviewToFront:scrollTextView]; [_codeTextView bringSubviewToFront:scrollTextView]; } but after that i can't scroll anything. What class do I inherit from or method to override to get my controls to function at design time. • Suggest encoding which removes slashes which I can use as the format for REST-style URL-paramteters

  Given a path to a REST style URL: http://site.com/rest/customer/foo/robot/bar/1 When you GET it, it returns a PDF to the foo-customer containing page 1 of the bar-URL. While foo is the name of the customer bar is an URL. The URL usually contains slashes and might look something like this: http://anothersite.com/interestingarticle.html As REST URL's separate arguments by slashes I can't just put it into the REST URL above. Which encoding should I use? I can't use Base 64 as it utilizes the slash as well. As a technical note I will encode the URL in a .NET-application and decode it in PHP.
