  • Cannot integrate Gallio MBUnit with Team City

    I have been trying to get my MBUnit tests suite to work on Team City for many days now without any success. My solution builds no problem. The program is with my tests. After googling for Gallio integration with Team City I tried many ways to make this thing work and I think I am close but need help. I have included the gallio bin directory to my repository and also on my TC Server.   • WPF: Binding to ObservableCollection in ControlTemplate is not updated

    I created a ControlTemplate for my custom control MyControl. MyControl derives from System.Windows.Controls.Control and defines the following property public ObservableCollection<MyControl> Children{ get; protected set; }. To display the nested child controls I am using an ItemsControl (StackPanel) which is surrounded by a GroupBox. If there are no child controls, I want to hide the GroupBox. Everything works fine on application startup: The group box and child controls are shown if the Children property initially contained at least one element. In the other case it is hidden. The problem starts when the user adds a child control to an empty collection. The GroupBox's visibility is still collapsed. The same problem occurs when the last child control is removed from the collection. The GroupBox is still visible. Another symptom is that the HideEmptyEnumerationConverter converter does not get called. Adding/removing child controls to non empty collections works as expected. Whats wrong with the following binding? It feels like something in ASP.NET is overriding my model values from updating the text boxes and they are just displaying the same old values. I found this issue while trying to learn EditorFor with an IEnumerable.

  • Cannot get net 4.5rc to work

    I have installed .net 4.5rc from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/hh854779.aspx because I would like to use the new spatial features when developing with visual visual web developer 2010 express. But when I want to change the target framework to .net 4.5 in the project properties it is not there. I have checked the directory in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64 and can see that there is no v4.5 folder but the v4.0 directory has been updated with a timestamp corresponding to when I installed v4.5. The version of the v4.0 directory is v4.0.30319. I am running windows 7 on my computer. Any ideas why I cannot find v4.5 ? thanks Thomas *UPDATE Based on the comment below I have found out that I am running 4.5. For others reading this post, .net 4.5 replaces the files in the .net 4.0 directory but without renaming the directory to .net 4.5 (a bit confusing). To check whether your assemblies have been updated check the product version of eg. system.dll (right click - details). According to this post http://www.west-wind.com/weblog/posts/2012/Mar/13/NET-45-is-an-inplace-replacement-for-NET-40 if the product version is above 17000 it is running 4.5.

  • Compiling a DLL which includes Ogre3D gives an assertion error when used

    Hi, I have a framework that I am building and is being compiled into a static library to be used by other projects. The library works perfectly without issues. The problem is that the link time is very long for the projects that use the library so I thought I will make a DLL project of the same framework. I started with baby steps and created an MFC DLL project through visual studio. When a project uses the compiled DLL and constructs this (OgreCore) class, it works perfectly fine. As soon as uncomment one of the Ogre includes and compile the DLL again, the project that uses the DLL now gives an assertion error. The full details can be found here in the Ogre forum post.     So, I have two types at the moment: const unsigned char* unencrypted_data_char; string unencrypted_data; I'm attempting to perform a simple conversion of data from one to the other (string - const unsigned char*) As a result, I have the following: strcpy((unencrypted_data_char),(unencrypted_data.c_str())); However, I'm receiving the error: error C2664: 'strcpy' : cannot convert parameter 1 from 'const unsigned char *' to 'char *' Any advise? I thought using reinterpret_cast would help, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

    C#4.0 obviously brings optional parameters (which I've been waiting for, for quite some time). However it seems that because only system types can be const that I cannot use any class/struct which I have created, as an optional param. Is there a some way which allows me to use a more complex type as an optional parameter. Or is this one of the realities that one must just live with?

    I am trying to populate a dropdown list from a database mapped with Linq 2 SQL, using ASP.NET MVC 2, and keep getting this error. I am so confused because I am declaring a variable with the type IEnumerable<SelectListItem> on the second line, but the error makes me think this is not the case. I feel like this should be very simple, but I am struggling. Any help is appreciated.   • PHP: Can pcntl_alarm() and socket_select() peacefully exist in the same thread?

    I have a PHP CLI script mostly written that functions as a chat server for chat clients to connect to (don't ask me why I'm doing it in PHP, thats another story haha). My script utilizes the socket_select() function to hang execution until something happens on a socket, at which point it wakes up, processes the event, and waits until the next event. Now, there are some routine tasks that I need performed every 30 seconds or so (check of tempbanned users should be unbanned, save user databases, other assorted things). From what I can tell, PHP doesn't have very great multi-threading support at all. My first thought was to compare a timestamp every time the socket generates an event and gets the program flowing again, but this is very inconsistent since the server could very well sit idle for hours and not have any of my cleanup routines executed. I came across the PHP pcntl extensions, and it lets me use assign a time interval for SIGALRM to get sent and a function get executed every time it's sent. This seems like the ideal solution to my problem, however pcntl_alarm() and socket_select() clash with each other pretty bad. Every time SIGALRM is triggered, all sorts of crazy things happen to my socket control code. My program is fairly lengthy so I can't post it all here, but it shouldn't matter since I don't believe I'm doing anything wrong code-wise. My question is: Is there any way for a SIGALRM to be handled in the same thread as a waiting socket_select()? If so, how? If not, what are my alternatives here? Here's some output from my program. My alarm function simply outputs "Tick!" whenever it's called to make it easy to tell when stuff is happening. How can I convert it? How can I use ToValueProvider with a complex model? I hope I was clear enough Thanks a lot :)

Assume you have an integer array in a variable b (board), which holds the Tic Tac Toe board, and the moves of the players where: 0 = nothing set 1 = player 1 (X) 2 = player 2 (O) So, given the array b = [ 1, 2, 1, 0, 1, 2, 1, 0, 2 ] would represent the board X|O|X -+-+- |X|O -+-+- X| |O For that situation, your code should output 1 to indicate player 1 has won. If no-one has won you can output 0 or false. My own (Ruby) solution will be up soon. Edit: Sorry, forgot to mark it as community wiki. You can assume the input is well formed and does not have to be error checked. Update: Please post your solution in the form of a function. Most people have done this already, but some haven't, which isn't entirely fair. The board is supplied to your function as the parameter. The result should be returned by the function. The function can have a name of your choosing.

    Hello, I'm trying to understand how to build a JSON object in JavaScript. This JSON object will get passed to a JQuery ajax call. Currently, I'm hard-coding my JSON and making my JQuery call as shown here: $.ajax({ url: "/services/myService.svc/PostComment", type: "POST", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", data: '{"comments":"test","priority":"1"}', dataType: "json", success: function (res) { alert("Thank you!"); }, error: function (req, msg, obj) { alert("There was an error"); } }); This approach works. But, I need to dynamically build my JSON and pass it onto the JQuery call. However, I cannot figure out how to dynamically build the JSON object.   • wcf rest starter kit 2 ICollectionService<ITem>

    I have created a Rest collection WCF Service using the starter kit. Everything is fine except i need to modify the OnGetItem(string id) to accept an additional parameter such that the URI becomes http://localhost/service.svc/1/5 where 1 = department id and 5 = employee id I can see the ICollectionService within the abstract class collection service base protected abstract TItem OnGetItem(string id); but I am not allowed to modify it. Does anyone have any ideas has to how I can make such a simple addition? Thanks in advance
