  Hi, I'm currently building a web based system and trying to implement N-Tier Entity Framework 4.0 with DTOs in a SOA Architecture. I am having a problem understanding how I should implement the Data Access Layer (DAL) , the Business Logic Layer (BLL) and the Presentation Layer. • Problem deserializing xml file

  I auto generated an xsd file from the below xml and used xsd2code to get a c# class. The problem is the entire xml doesn't deserialize.   I'm trying to synchronize my encryption and decryption methods between C# and PHP but something seems to be going wrong. • Threading extra state through a parser in Scala

  I'll give you the tl;dr up front I'm trying to use the state monad transformer in Scalaz 7 to thread extra state through a parser, and I'm having trouble doing anything useful without writing a lot of t m a -> t m b versions of m a -> m b methods. An example parsing problem Suppose I have a string containing nested parentheses with digits inside them: val input = "((617)((0)(32)))" I also have a stream of fresh variable names (characters, in this case): val names = Stream('a' to 'z': _*) I want to pull a name off the top of the stream and assign it to each parenthetical expression as I parse it, and then map that name to a string representing the contents of the parentheses, with the nested parenthetical expressions (if any) replaced by their names. To make this more concrete, here's what I'd want the output to look like for the example input above: val target = Map( 'a' -> "617", 'b' -> "0", 'c' -> "32", 'd' -> "bc", 'e' -> "ad" ) There may be either a string of digits or arbitrarily many sub-expressions at a given level, but these two kinds of content won't be mixed in a single parenthetical expression. To keep things simple, we'll assume that the stream of names will never contain either duplicates or digits, and that it will always contain enough names for our input. Using parser combinators with a bit of mutable state The example above is a slightly simplified version of the parsing problem in this Stack Overflow question. What I've tried I'm trying to get as close to the Parsec solution as I can using Scalaz's state monad transformer, so instead of Parser[A] I'm working with StateT[Parser, Stream[Char], A]. But my ExtraStateParsers is ugly as sin—I don't want to try your patience more than I already have, so I won't include it here (although here's a link, if you really want it). I've had to write new versions of every Parser and Parsers method I use above for my ExtraStateParsers and ESP types (rep1, ~>, <~, and |, in case you're counting). If I had needed to use other combinators, I'd have had to write new state transformer-level versions of them as well. Is there a cleaner way to do this? I'd love to see an example of a Scalaz 7's state monad transformer being used to thread state through a parser, but Scala 6 or Haskell examples would also be useful.

  I call a method to get my pages [see GetPages(String xmlFullFilePath)]. The FromXElement method is supposed to deserialise the LitePropertyData elements to strongly type LitePropertyData objects.   Hi I'm using JNI to access the exiv2 library (written in C++) in Java and I'm getting a weird runtime error in the JNI code. I've tried using various -Xms and -Xmx options, but that seems to have no affect.   I have tried to setup PerformancePoint Services on SharePoint 2010, but every time I try to use the dashboard designer, I get this error: “An error has occurred attempting to contact the specified SharePoint site” I have tried these steps but it hasn't helped.   We have a set of .Net 2.0 applications running on Windows 2003 servers which have started experiencing transient "The parameter is incorrect." Windows I/O errors. These errors always happen accessing a file share on a SAN. The fact that this error has happened with multiple applications and multiple servers leads me to believe that this is an infrastructure issue of some sort. The applications all run under the same domain account. When the errors occur they generally will resolve themselves within a few minutes. I can log in to the application server once the error starts occurring and access the file share myself with no problems. I have looked at the Windows event logs and haven't found anything useful. Due to the generic nature of "The parameter is incorrect.", I am looking for additional troubleshooting suggestions for this error. A sample stack trace is below. Note that while this example was during a directory creation operation, when the problem is occurring, this exception is thrown for any file system operations on the share. • MOSS2007 tries to use ActiveDirectory when I have configured an alternative membership provider

  I've got a MOSS site that I am trying to configure using Forms authentication and absolutely any kind of membership provider whatsoever. Thus far ActiveDirectory has proved obstructively difficult so I've just whipped up a simple stub membership provider and put it in the GAC. It's a very basic and simple provider but it works fine with an ASP.Net site, I just can't make it work with Sharepoint. I've made sure I reset IIS and even restarted the server to see if either of those helped but they made no difference.

• IIS 7 doesn't do a 301 redirect

  Hi there! I have just migrated some sites to IIS7 from IIS6, and am experiencing problems with one of the sites. When a request comes in for the site (www.ourdomain.com/site1/) with a trailing slash everything is fine. But if the trailing slash is left out (www.ourdomain.com/site1), then the request fails. Apparently it doesn't do a 301 redirect on the slashl-less URL, resulting in ASP.NET throwing an exception. This is not happening with the other sites at the same domain.
