• Asp.net help It gives error in home page only

  i am new to asp.net. I have uploaded a site in ftp. except default.aspx remaining pages working. when i navigate to home page i.e Default.aspx it shows an error Server Error in '/' Application. • what to do with compile fcgi executable

  I have fastcgi installed and running. I downloaded a developerkit from fastcgi.com. It had some examples in it. One of the example files echos some stuff. It required a .libs and a .deps I put those folders along with a echo.fcgi file and into the webroot/cgi-bin. If I got to the echo.fcgi url, it works great. I created a simple c file that prints hello world. I compile it using gcc -Wall -o main -lfcgi main.c What do I do with it now? Does it require something like a perl script or php script to be executed. Or, should I just be able to put it in the webroot/cgi-bin folder and go to it's url?

• Can't return a String value and append it...why?

  I am writing an app and am having problems returning a simple string value, and I'm not sure why. The function I am using (within a file called APIManager.m) is: - (NSString*) returnVenueUrl { NSString *venueUrl = [devEnvironment stringByAppendingString:@"venue/id/"]; return venueUrl; } I can return this properly by doing this in another .m file: APIManager *apiManager = [APIManager apiManager]; NSLog(@"view venue URL is here: %@", [apiManager returnVenueUrl]); But when I go to append a variable cast as a String onto it, I get nothing.. venueURL = [apiManager returnVenueUrl]; venueURL = [venueURL stringByAppendingString:venueId]; NSLog(@"the Full Venue URL is: %", venueURL); If anyone has any advice on how to fix this, it would be much appreciated!

• Compressing a hex string in Ruby/Rails

  I'm using MongoDB as a backend for a Rails app I'm building. Mongo, by default, generates 24-character hexadecimal ids for its records to make sharding easier, so my URLs wind up looking like: example.com/companies/4b3fc1400de0690bf2000001/employees/4b3ea6e30de0691552000001 Which is not very pretty. I'd like to stick to the Rails url conventions, but also leave these ids as they are in the database. I think a happy compromise would be to compress these hex ids to shorter collections using more characters, so they'd look something like: example.com/companies/3ewqkvr5nj/employees/9srbsjlb2r Then in my controller I'd reverse the compression, get the original hex id and use that to look up the record. My question is, what's the best way to convert these ids back and forth? I'd of course want them to be as short as possible, but also url-safe and simple to convert. Thanks!

• Flex 3 - Send a HTTP Get request from Flash and want Firefox to show Open With Box.

  Hi all, I am a newb developer as far as Flex and Flash is concerned. This is what I'm trying to do: 1) Send a HTTP request to our server (with a custom made URL). The URL basically tells the server to send data in a CSV format. 2) The server sends a 200 OK response, which has Content-Type: application/csv and the payload is pure CSV data. What I wish to do is, when firefox gets this 200 OK response, I want it to show the standard Open with box (the one that shows up when you download some file). I tried doing this with HTTPService. I have a "Export to CSV" button on the flash component. Upon clicking that, the flash component is able to succesfully send the HTTP request. I however don't want Flash component to handle the response, so I don't have the 's "result" tag defined. But nothing happens. Any suggestions on how to do this.

  i am creating web mobile application in mvc4.   Hello, I am attempting to return a image from a server using Silverlight 3. The server returns the Response stream like this: context.Response.ContentType = imageFactory.ContentType imgStream.WriteTo(context.Response.OutputStream) imgStream.Close() context.Response.End() On the Silverlight client I am handling the stream like: Dim request As HttpWebRequest = result.AsyncState Dim response As HttpWebResponse = request.EndGetResponse(result) Dim responseStream As IO.Stream = response.GetResponseStream() I want to take that stream and open the browsers save dialog, one option I have explored is using the Html.Window.Navigate(New Uri("image url")) and this opened the correct browser default dialog but it is not an option because I need to send extended information(e.g. XML) to the server through the HttpRequest.Headers.Item and the Navigate doesn't allow this. How can I take a Response Stream and force the default browser Save dialog to appear from the Silverlight Application without using the Html.Window.Navigate(New Uri("image url"))?

  I'm trying to modify the HTML of the dialog boxes in CKEditor. The HTML inside each of those boxes is an absolute nightmare, and even worse, the source code is compressed and it's unclear what the path of execution is.   Hi I tried to override HTTP request header content by using jQuery's AJAX function.   Hi all, I would like to figure out where everything is in django admin. Since i am currently trying to modify the behavior rather heavily right now, so perhaps a reference would be helpful. For example, where is ModelAdmin located, i cannot find it anywhere in C:\Python26\Lib\site-packages\django\contrib\admin. I need that because i would like to look at how it is implemented so that i can override with confidence. I need to do that in part because of this page: http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/contrib/admin/#modeladmin-methods, for example, i would like to override ModelAdmin.add_view, but i can't find the original source for that. As well as i would like to see the url routing file for admin, so i can easily figure out which url corresponding to which template etc. Thanks a lot for any pointers!

• Getting the location from a WebClient on a HTTP 302 Redirect?

  I have a URL that returns a HTTP 302 redirect, and I would like to get the URL it redirects to. The problem is that System.Net.WebClient seems to actually follow it, which is bad. HttpWebRequest seems to do the same. Is there a way to make a simple HTTP Request and get back the target Location without the WebClient following it? I'm tempted to do raw socket communication as HTTP is simple enough, but the site uses HTTPS and I don't want to do the Handshaking. At the end, I don't care which class I use, I just don't want it to follow HTTP 302 Redirects :)

• MVC Bootstrap: Autocomplete doesn't show properly

  I have a MVC website and it had a searchbox with autocomplete, now I changed the layout using bootstrap. But now the autocomplete isn't been shown correctly anymore. See the picture the suggestions are not shown right. the autocomplete goes through the text. I was fine before I used bootstrap.   I am going through the various Google AppEngine tutorials sometimes, and I just noticed something odd in a StackOverflow question about favicon.ico - specifically this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/887328/favicon-ico-not-found-error-in-app-engine - url: /favicon.ico static_files: media/img/favicon.ico upload: media/img/favicon.ico - url: /robots.txt static_files: media/robots.txt upload: media/robots.txt All of the posters included an "upload:" line in their app.yaml definitions The application appears to work the same with or without the upload: line, and I have not seen any mention of it in the official documentation. Where is it used, or what difference does it make if this line is included or not?

  How do I perform an HTTP request and sign it with a X.509 certificate using Java? I usually program in C#. Now, what I would like to do is something similar to the following, only in Java: private HttpWebRequest CreateRequest(Uri uri, X509Certificate2 cert) { HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)HttpWebRequest.Create(uri); request.ClientCertificates.Add(cert); /* ... */ return request; } In Java I have created a java.security.cert.X509Certificate instance but I cannot figure out how to associate it to a HTTP request. I can create a HTTP request using a java.net.URL instance, but I don't seem to be able to associate my certificate with that instance (and I'm not sure whether using java.net.URL is even appropriate).
