  • What CSS compiler do you use (SASS, Less, HSS, etc)?

    I've been looking to make things a little more DRY, both on my personal projects (django) and at work (JSP/struts,PHP). SASS+HAML seem to be quite popular, but, do those outside of the Ruby/Rails community generally use these as well, or do they opt for other solutions? Which do you use, and what was the reasoning behind the choice?

  • nth-of-type only working for 1 and 2

    I have a styling problem, I am using WordPress and want to do have the first two classes completely different to the others. My ideal situation is to have: .si-biplace:nth-of-type(3) { float:left; margin:20px 0px 0px 0px; } .si-image:nth-of-type(3) { float:left; margin:20px 0px 0px 0px; border:0px; } .si-title:nth-of-type(3) { width:100px; height:20px; margin:0px; font-size:7px; color:#FFFFFF; font-weight:bold; } They seem to work fine when it is: .si-biplace { float:left; margin:-10px 0px 0px 0px; } .si-biplace:nth-of-type(2) { float:left; margin:-10px 0px 0px 15px; } Is there a reason why it will not work with nth-of-type(3) but will with nth of type 2? I basically want different attributes for every next time the div is used but cannot have separate div classes as it runs through a php array.

  • ExtJS Close button on each tab in a Tabpanel

    The Extjs API site adds a new tab for each search you do. The tabs each have a red X on them to close the tab similar to what browsers have. Check it out here: I'd like to replicate this and it seems like something that would be built-in to the API, but cannot find it. Any ideas?

  • Why does fb:fan control disappear after login with requireSession on external page?

    Hi, Reqs: I want to make an external page with a 'Become a Fan'-button. I want users to login to facebook once they open the page (this is because of other features in the site) So I call FB.Connect.requireSession once the page loads, and put a <fb:fan></fb:fan> control on the page. Then when I open the page I see the 'Connect with Facebook to Continue' pop-up and a small 'Become a fan' button. This seems right. When I log in to Facebook using the pop-up the 'Become a fan button' disappears!! Can anyone explain this weird behaviour or does someone know a way to reach my requirements in a different way.   • js function causing all other functions not to work inside js file

    In safari 4 and all explorer browsers, whenever I try to call a function inside a javascript file which contains this function below, that first function isn't called. So calling function1 will not work if function2 is inside the same .js file, explanation? Here is the code which makes the problem. Whenever I remove this function, everything works fine and all functions work fine.   • How do I find the Recaptcha ID?

    I've been stuck on something for the past day. I'm building a RoR bot, and part of it involves signing up for an email account with mail.com. I've automated all the filling out of the form, apart from the captcha (Recaptcha). I'll be using the deathbycaptcha Ruby gem. However, in order to have the captcha solved, I'll need to get either its ID or its URL. While this shows up when I "enable form details" with the Firefox Web Developer toolbar, it doesn't seem to be in the source. How can I find it out? I'm using Watir. Thanks! Joe

  • Working with Form Array's in Coldfusion?

    I have no idea how to handle this in coldfusion 9, I have a form being submitted (POST) with element checkboxes, called items[]. When I do a <cfdump var="#form#" /> no-problem, I get all the items shown with the proper names like items[] eg: struct ITEMS[] 13,14 FIELDNAMES ITEMS[] however doing a <cfdump var="#form.items[]#" /> results in an error. How do I access the CF9 field values? Somehow loop through it? I cannot seem to do anything with the array to get the id's out of it? Thoughts, I'm kindof stumped and coldfusion isn't the easiest language to find examples / references on the net ;) Is there a correct way to deal with this? I need to get the ID's out of there so I can referenc what lines were checked in the form, so I can follow up with an action. Thanks!

    I have two fields which calculate a total, but I have a radio button pair that determines a variable within the equation.   • I can't fix a broken image in Internet Explorer

    Hi All, I have a broken image in IE that I can't seem to fix. I have tried everything I could think of so far. It works just fine in all browsers except IE. You can view the broken image here... http://74.53.164.152/~maury66/index.php?cPath=5_11 As you can see, all of the product images work except for the one for the product titled "Facial Hydrating Lotion - 120 ml/4 fl oz - For normal and oily skin types".     I have a form and it contains dropdown box and different div items. Based on selection from dropdown box, I show those div items. But some of the text in those div items are shown when the form is loaded and not when I select the option from dropdown box. The code is somewhat like this <form> <select id=""> <option value="one"> One </option> <option value="two"> Two </option> <option value="three"> Three </option> </select> <div id="onee"> header text ..<table> </table></div> <div id="twoo"> header text ..<table> </table></div> </form> So when I load the page form with select drop down box is shown , but it also shows header text which is within div. How do I hide that text?

  • CSS Differences Between IE and FF

    I hope I'm not breaking any rules by asking a question that pertains to a project I'm working on. If you view my page here and view it in Firefox and again in Internet Explorer, the width of the main content boxes differs. In Firefox, everything aligns perfectly with the advertisement at the top of the page, but in IE, the width of the content boxes seems to fall short by about 20 or so pixels. My question is obvious by now, but what is causing the width in IE to fall short, and what would a simple solution be? If I happen to be breaking the rules by asking a question that is not generic enough to benefit others, then allow me to rephrase it; what would be the best approach to solving visual differences between browsers? Should I use a separate CSS file for IE, or is there a way to define lines in my CSS file that only get rendered by a specific browser? It would be best if someone could provide me with the necessary CSS to align things properly, but I would be more than happy to learn about how to make the CSS dynamic (if that's possible).     Hello everybody, I have multi-step form and user can navigate to any page to modify or add information. There is a menu that shows progress and steps user completed. This menu allows to navigate to any step user completed or going to complete. Inspite of big button "Save and Continue" some users click this menu to navigate further. I have to check - if values have changed in a form and ask: "Save changes? Yes/No". What is the best way (with minimum code) you suggest me to check if form values have changed.   • Set request attributes when a Form is POSTed

    Is there any way to set request attributes (not parameters) when a form is posted? The problem I am trying to solve is: I have a JSP page displaying some data in a couple of dropdown lists. When the form is posted, my Controller servlet processes this request (based on the parameters set/specified in the form) and redirects to the same JSP page that is supposed to display addition details. I now want to display the same/earlier data in the dropdown lists without having to recompute or recalculate to get that same data. And in the said JSP page, the dropdown lists in the form are populated by data that is specified through request attributes. Right now, after the Form is POSTed and I am redirected to the same JSP page the dropdown lists are empty because the necessary request attributes are not present. I am quite the n00b when it comes to web apps, so an obvious & easy solution to this problem escapes me at the moment! I am open to suggestions on how to restructure the control flow in the Servlet. Some details about this app: standard Servlet + JSP, JSTL, running in Apache Tomcat 6.0. Thanks.

    I'm using a DataList to show some data from the database and populating the fields on the html side. I now have a requirement to change the visibility of a panel based on whether or not a db field has data or not. I need to be able to show the panel if the relevant data field has content, and hide it if it doesn't. Eg: <asp:Panel ID="pnlNew" runat="server" Style="margin:0; padding:0; width:42px; height:18px; bottom:5px; right:10px; float:right; position:relative; background:url(../_imgVideoBadge.png) no-repeat;" Visible='<%# Eval("cheese") != null %>' ToolTip="available"></asp:Panel> Obviously this doesn't work in terms of the visible property. But hopefully it gives an idea of what I'm trying to achieve. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've seen examples previously of doing something along the lines of: a ?? b:c How could this be applied to the above requirement?? Thanks in advance.

    I have this classifieds website, and I have about 7 tables in MySql where all data is stored. I have one main table, called "classifieds". In the classifieds table, there is a column called classified_id. This is not the PK, or a key whatsoever. It is just a number which is used for me to JOIN table records together. Ex: classifieds table: fordon table: id => 33 id => 12 classified_id => 10 classified_id => 10 ad_id => 'bmw_m3_92923' This above is linked together by the classified_id column. Now to the Q, I use this method to fetch all records WHERE the column ad_id matches any of the values inside an array, called in this case $ad_arr: SELECT mt.*, fordon.*, boende.*, elektronik.*, business.*, hem_inredning.*, hobby.* FROM classified mt LEFT JOIN fordon ON fordon.classified_id = mt.classified_id LEFT JOIN boende ON boende.classified_id = mt.classified_id LEFT JOIN elektronik ON elektronik.classified_id = mt.classified_id LEFT JOIN business ON business.classified_id = mt.classified_id LEFT JOIN hem_inredning ON hem_inredning.classified_id = mt.classified_id LEFT JOIN hobby ON hobby.classified_id = mt.classified_id WHERE mt.ad_id IN ('$ad_arr')"; Is this good or would this actually fetch unnecessary information?   • Padding/Margin/Border On Element Does Not Change DIV Height

    Here is a very simply jsFiddle to demonstrate my problem: http://jsfiddle.net/ryandlf/mSmUv/4/ When an element has a top padding or margin and it sits on the first line within a div, the div does not respect that padding or margin and push the element down. In most cases this isn't an issue, but for example, if I have a button that has a top border and padding the top of the border will be cut off because the div is not taking into consideration the padding value. Is there a workaround for this other than just blindly setting margins or padding on every container div element and hoping I have added enough to account for any internal element that might be affected?

  • Google Maps : How to open an InfoWindow by hovering a link?

    Hi there, i have a very simple question about Google Maps API. In this case, i have on my page a map on the left, with about 40 points, and the list of these 40 points on the right. So you know, when you click on a point of the map, the "info window" is displayed so you can see some informations about it. I can't find how can i do to simply open the "info window" on the map, by making a "hover" on the corresponding link. (and by the way, close all the others info windows) Did someone have an idea about this? Thanks a lot, have a nice day! :)
