• How can I easily confirm in Linux that two separate directories have the exact same contents?

  CentOS 5.x Mq question seemed similar to this one but I wasn't sure... I have two servers (completely isolated from each other), each with a directory and sub-directories that should have the same exact contents. For example the directory layout could be something like: SERVER A - /opt/foo/foob/1092380298309128301283/123.txt /opt/foo/foob/5094380298309128301283/456.txt /opt/foo/foob/5092380298309128301283/789.txt /opt/foo/foob/1592380298309128301283/abc.txt SERVER B - /opt/foo/foob/1092380298309128301283/123.txt /opt/foo/foob/5094380298309128301283/456.txt /opt/foo/foob/5092380298309128301283/789.txt /opt/foo/foob/1592380298309128301283/abc.txt Ideally I'd like a way to do a recursive check and have something confirm that everything matches. I also want to avoid using any third-party tools. Any ideas?

• Recursively copy only new or changed files

  I'm sure this must have been asked and answered before, but I just can't find it right now... I have a Visual Studio post-build action that currently does a recursive copy (using xcopy) of an output folder to a different folder. This takes longer than I like and I'd like to only copy newly created and newer (changed) files each time (which xcopy doesn't seem to support). I cannot depend on any not-installed-by-default tool since the solution is used by different developers on different machines. What would a superuser do?

• Windows 7 - cannot access my own external disk

  I use Windows 7 Home Premium and external USB disk with NTFS partition. I cannot write-access the my own files on it, even as a member of Admnistrators group! Is there any way how to go around this permission checking, without actually writing some permission information to every folder on it? I have 3 external disks (up to 1TB), and I have thousands hundreds of files on each!!! Doing some permission change, that will actually go recursivelly through all folders on all my disks is plain brain damage!! 1) Is there any way how to change it somehow globally? (like mount options...) .. Or how to go around this annoying permission checking? It was working in Win XP normally! 2) if not, and I must do the recursive operation on all folders, how to do it PERMANENTLY, so that I don't need to do it again on another Windows 7 computer!

  I use an rsync command to sync two directories remote local the command is (used in python script) os.system('rsync --verbose --progress --stats --recursive\ --copy-links --times --include="*/" --include="*good_name*.good_ext*"\ --exclude-from "/myhome/mydir/src/rsync.exclude"\ %s %s'%(remotepath,localpath)) I want to exclude certain directories that has the same files that I also want to include. I want to include recursively any_dir_name/any_file_name.good but I want to exclude any and all files that are in bad_dir_name/ I used exclude-from and here is my exclude from file * /*.bad_dir_name/ Unfortunately it doesn't work. I suspect it may have something to do with --include="*/" but if I remove it the command doesn't sync any files at all. Thanks for the help.

I have commented this thing right now. 3) But when I declare this object array inside the function.. because ultimately i have to declare inside function( as i need to build a recursive program, where objects will be created in very recursive call) then the program is throwing segmentation fault. • Merge Sort issue when removing the array copy step

  I've been having an issue that I couldn't debug for quite some time. I am trying to implement a MergeSort algorithm with no additional steps of array copying by following Robert Sedgewick's algorithm in "Algorithm's in C++" book. Short description of the algorithm: The recursive program is set up to sort b, leaving results in a. Thus, the recursive calls are written to leave their result in b, and we use the basic merge program to merge those files from b into a. In this way, all the data movement is done during the course of the merges. The problem is that I cannot find any logical errors but the sorting isn't done properly. Data gets overwritten somewhere and I cannot determine what logical error causes this. The data is sorted when the program is finished but it is not the same data any more. For example, Input array: { A, Z, W, B, G, C } produces the array: { A, G, W, W, Z, Z }. I can obviously see that it must be a logical error somewhere, but I have been trying to debug this for a pretty long time and I think a fresh set of eyes could maybe see what I'm missing cause I really can't find anything wrong. As a complete LINQ newb, i'm not sure what i'm missing. i've tried variations on Select new with { row("COLUMNNAME") ,row("TABLENAME")} and get: Anonymous type member name can be inferred only from a simple or qualified name with no arguments. Also, does anyone know of any good books/resources to get fluent?

  Hello, I am having some problems trying to work with PostgreSQL and Hibernate, more specifically, the issue mentioned in the title. I've been searching the net for a few hours now but none of the found solutions worked for me. I am using Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers. Build id: 20090920-1017 with HibernateTools, Hibernate 3, PostgreSQL 8.4.3 on Ubuntu 9.10. Everything is lowercase, so I don't think that it's that issue. If I switch to MySQL, the same code same project (I only change driver,URL, authentication), it works. In Eclipse Datasource Explorer, I can ping the DB and it succeeds. Weird thing is that I can't see the tables from there either. It expands the public schema but it doesn't expand the tables. Could it be some permission issue? Thanks!

  I'm new to LINQ and EF, but I've been able to stumble through for the majority of the queries I have, but this one has me completely confused. No matter what I try, it comes up in SQL Profiler as a big mess :-). I have two tables: Users and UsersProjects. The goal of this query is to list all the users who are working on projects with the specified user. Here is the query as I have it written in SQL. It's a subquery, but I don't know of a way to simplify it further, but I'm open to suggestions there as well. SELECT DISTINCT Users.FirstName, Users.LastName FROM Users INNER JOIN UsersProjects ON Users.ID=UsersProjects.UserID WHERE UsersProjects.ProjectID IN (SELECT ProjectID FROM UsersProjects WHERE UserID=@UserID) Anybody able to help?? I remember this being trivial with HBM based mappings but I think I'm missing something when using annotations. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I wrote a query to return the users based on the "lookingFor" column i want to return all users that contains the "lookingFor" value (not only those equal to it).   So I've been working on trying to figure this out, oddly when I ran it one machine I got a generic Axis Fault with no description, but now on another machine I'm getting a different error message, but I'm still stuck.   Hi there, I'm using the following combobox: var cb = new Ext.form.ComboBox({ store: someDs, fieldLabel: 'test', valueField:'name', displayField:'name_id', typeAhead: true, minChars: 3, triggerAction: 'query' }); So when the user typed in 3 chars, a query to the server is made showing the proper results. Now I try to make the user input programmatically usint the doQuery() function of the combobox. After calling the doQuery() method, I want to seledct an Item via setValue(). cb.doQuery('myval'); cb.setValue('myval'); The problem is that setValue() can't select the propper value, because at the time it is called, the request started through doQuery() hasn't finished. So I need something like a callback in which I could use setValue() - but doQuery() doesn't seem to have a callback function. any ideas? thanks!

  Hi, I need help on how to create a packing list of a shipment with MySQL. Let's say i have 32 boxes of keyboard ready to ship, the master carton can contain 12 boxes. I only have value 32 boxes and volume of 12. The other value in result below is generated by sql command. Not coming from record. So this easily calculate that the number of master carton would be 3 master cartons, with one as a non-standard quantity. How to perform query on this ? • Get Local IP-Address using Boost.Asio

  Hey, I'm currently searching for a portable way of getting the local IP-addresses. Because I'm using Boost anyway I thought it would be a good idea to use Boost.Asio for this task. There are serveral examples on the net which should do the trick. Examples: Official Boost.Asio Documentation Some Asian Page I tried both codes with just slight modifications. The Code on Boost.Doc was changed to not resolve "www.boost.org" but "localhost" or my hostname instead. For getting the hostname I used boost::asio::ip::host_name() or typed it directly as a string. Additionally I wrote my own code which was a merge of the above examples and my (little) knowledge I gathered from the Boost Documentation and other examples. All the sources worked, but they did just return the following IP: 127.0.1.1 (Thats not a typo, its .1.1 at the end) I run and compiled the code on Ubuntu 9.10 with GCC 4.4.1 A colleague tried the same code on his machine and got 127.0.0.2 (Not a typo too...) He compiled and run on Suse 11.0 with GCC 4.4.1 (I'm not 100% sure) I don't know if it is possible to change the localhost (127.0.0.1), but I know that neither me or my colleague did it. ifconfig says loopback uses 127.0.0.1. ifconfig also finds the public IP I am searching for (141.200.182.30 in my case, subnet is 255.255.0.0) So is this a Linux-issue and the code is not as portable as I thought? Do I have to change something else or is Boost.Asio not working as a solution for my problem at all? I know there are much questions about similar topics on Stackoverflow and other pages, but I cannot find information which is useful in my case. If you got useful links, it would be nice if you could point me to it. When the query is run, though, the date format should change to 'd M y' (for Oracle). It is not working. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I have written a query that simply joins them, but in the case that the forum cache table contains an unapproved forum id, it will simply not return the entire row. what I really need is for query1 and query2 to be left joined on the category id, and for query 3 to be left outer joined on id = catID.
