Slow disk transfer rate

I have problem with slow disk transfer rate. It's static files server for our website. I was making backup of data and noticed that tar is very slow. So I did hdparm -t and... hdparm -t /dev/sda3 /dev/sda3: Timing buffered disk reads: 6 MB in 4.70 seconds = 1.28 MB/sec It's low traffic hour now on our site, so huge I/O traffic is not a reason (iotop show less than 1 MB/s). It's RAID10 setup (2x2 SATA drives). Linux, some packets are not being NAT

Hi, I'm trying to NAT HTTP traffic, I'm new to this and facing some issues. What i'm trying to do is NAT client HTTP requests to a webserver. CLIENT - NAT BOX - WEBSERVER When the client open the IP of the NAT BOX, the request should be pass to the web server. But I'm getting "HTTP request sent, awaiting response..." and then wait serveral minutes before the request is done. Looking at the tcpdump output, it looks like the first Syn packet on (10:48:54) is being NAT but not the second, third, fourth... ACK or PSH packets, and wait until (10:52:04) it starts NAT again on the ACK packet. The iptables command I'm using is: iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp -i eth0 --dport 80 \ -j DNAT --to-destination WEBSERVER I'm wondering what could have caused this behavior? Duplicity not writing to a pre-existing S3 bucket

Creating Persistent Drive Labels With UDEV Using /dev/disk/by-path

I have a new BackBlaze Pod (BackBlaze Pod 2.0). It has 45 3TB drives and they when I first set it up they were labeled /dev/sda through /dev/sdz and /dev/sdaa through /dev/sdas. I used mdadm to setup three really big 15 drive RAID6 arrays. However, since first setup a few weeks ago I had a couple of the hard drives fail on me. I've replaced them but now the arrays are complaining because they can't find the missing drives. They're sorted by scsi id here but sda is missing...replaced by sdau...etc... So obviously the arrays are complaining. Is it possible to get Linux to reread the drive labels in the correct order or am I screwed? My initial design with 15 drive arrays is not ideal. With 3TB drives the rebuild times were taking 3 or 4 days....maybe more. I'm scrapping the whole design and I think I am going to go with 6 x 7 RAID5 disk arrays and 3 hot spares to make the arrays a bit easier to manage and shorten the rebuild times. But I'd like to clean up the drive labels so they aren't out of order. I haven't figured out how to do this yet. Does anyone know how to get this straightened out? Thanks, Matt

How to Edit or Add a New Row in jqGrid

My jqGrid that does a great job of pulling data from my database, but I'm having trouble understanding how the Add New Row functionality works. Right now, I'm able to edit inline data, but I'm not able to create a new row using the Modal Box. I'm missing that extra logic that says, "If this is a new row, post this to the server side URL" instead of modifying existing data. (Right now, hitting Submit only clears the form and reloads the grid data.) The documentation states that Add New Row is: jQuery("#editgrid").jqGrid('editGridRow',"new",{height:280,reloadAfterSubmit:false}); but I'm not sure how to use that correctly. I've spent alot of time studying the Demos, but they seem to all use an external button to fire the new row command, rather than using the Modal Form, which I want to do. Jquery datepicker popup not closing on select date in IE8

I've got a web form with a start date field. I've tied a jquery datepicker to the txt field. Now when I choose a date in FF, the selected date is populated in the text box and the calendar popup closes. However when I do the same thing in IE8, the selected date is populated in the text box but the popup remains open. Thus the length is null or not an object error. Now I'm not sure if the datepicker popup not closing in IE and the script error in the WebResources.axd file are related errors, but I'm leaning that way. TinyMCE include crashes IE8

I am trying to open a popup onclick using a function call as shown below. <a id="forgotPasswordLink" href="#" onclick="openSupportPage(document.getElementById('forgotPasswordLink').innerHTML);"> Some Text </a> I am creating the HTML for the pop up page on the fly and also including the TinyMCE source file over there. The code is as shown below: <script type="text/javascript">  </script> The support.js file contains the following. function inittextarea() { tinyMCE.init({ elements : "content", mode : "exact", theme : "advanced", readonly : true, setup : function(ed) { ed.onInit.add(function() { tinyMCE.activeEditor.execCommand("mceToggleVisualAid"); }); } }); } The problem arises when the onclick event is fired and the pop up opens up, IE8 stops responding and seems to hang. It is working fine on Chrome, Firefox and Safari. I feel that the issue is because of TinyMCE script inclusion because on commenting the lines that include the tiny_mce.js and the support_page.js, the popup renders with no issues. I am also using the latest TinyMCE release. Please let me know why this is happening and what could be the resolution.

C++: Declaration of template class member specialization

When I specialize a (static) member function/constant in a template class, I'm confused as to where the declaration is meant to go. But if it goes into the .cpp file, is code which calls X::f() aware of the specialization, or might it rely on the generic X::f()? So far I've got the specialization in the .cpp only, with no declaration in the header. I'm not having trouble compiling or even running my code (on gcc, don't remember the version at the moment), and it behaves as expected - recognizing the specialization. But A) I'm not sure this is correct, and I'd like to know what is, and B) my Doxygen documentation comes out wonky and very misleading (more on that in a moment a later question). These HL7 CDA files are XML files with a defined XML schema, so I used xsd.exe to generate .NET classes for XML serialization and deserialization. The XML Schema contains various types which contain the mixed="true" attribute, specifying that an XML node of this type may contain normal text mixed with other XML nodes. Or should I just use XmlDocument or XmlReader/XmlWriter to process these documents?

RelativeLayout, ScrollView and navigation bar at bottom

What I want to do is, make layout like this: Title Date Long text with scrolling Navigation bar stick to the bottom Well I have done everything, however there is a little problem with scrolling. I want only to scroll text. Title and date should be stick to the top, and nav bar to the bottom of activity. And yes, it works, but my nav bar overlaps text :/ I tried everything, there is one solution I found, set fixed height for Scrollview, but this will not work on every devices well, isn't it? I probably could do some calculation in code, and on it change height, but I would like to stay in XML. Any one have any suggestions? My Dijit DateTimeCombo widget doesn't send selected value on form submission

i need to create a Dojo widget that lets users specify date & time. i found a sample implementation attached to an entry in the Dojo bug tracker. It looks nice and mostly works, but when i submit the form, the value sent by the client is not the user-selected value but the value sent from the server. What changes do i need to make to get the widget to submit the date & time value? Sample usage is to render a JSP with basic HTML tags (form & input), then dojo.addOnLoad a function which selects the basic elements by ID, adds dojoType attribute, and dojo.parser.parse()-es the page. Clickonce downloading the deploy files via HTTP and not HTTPS

I am working on a project to deploy a project via clickonce. The website where these files are housed will only accept HTTPS traffic and if you attempt to connect via HTTP, our siteminder agent will redirect you to a HTTPS login form. We cannot disable the siteminder agent or enable HTTP for security reasons. In the application file, I have a codebase that references an absolute path to the manifest and it is via HTTPS <dependency> <dependentAssembly dependencyType="install" codebase="https://psaportal.ilab.test.com/testprinting/Application_Files/testprint_1_0_0_1/testprint.exe.manifest" size="10147"> <assemblyIdentity name="testprint.exe" version="1.0.0.1" publicKeyToken="9a078649ee05e0e7" language="neutral" processorArchitecture="msil" type="win32" /> <hash> <dsig:Transforms> <dsig:Transform Algorithm="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:HashTransforms.Identity" /> </dsig:Transforms> <dsig:DigestMethod Algorithm="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#sha1" /> <dsig:DigestValue>2nch1T0SmlAycmePobtg9F1qF7c=</dsig:DigestValue> </hash> </dependentAssembly> </dependency> In running wireshark and decoding the SSL traffic (I am using the server’s private key in wireshark to decrypt the SSL traffic). I see the request to the application’s manifest file is via HTTPS (This is a good thing). But when the clickonce tries to download the testprint.exe.deploy and the other respective files, it is always via HTTP and the siteminder jumps in and redirects the requests which kills the clickonce install with errors. I have tried to specific an absolute codebase reference in the manifest file, but then I start getting entrypoint errors when the manifest is downloaded by the Clickonce installer. The application is using .NET 3.5 and we have tried building the application and manifest files via VS2008, VS2010 and mage with no success. Does anyone know how to get all of the deploy files to always download via HTTPS?

wpf display staggered content

I am trying to display a rather dynamic list of data in WPF. I have essentially a LineItem class that contains a list of strings and a line type. The line type separates different categories of line items. All line items with the same type should be displayed the same and their data should line up. For example, this list will contain an order summary. And the there will be a line type that represents something with a width and height. The width and height must line up vertically. However, there may be other line types that don't have to line up vertically. Unfortunately, this didn't work. I ended up with incorrect or overlapping content anytime I tried to do a column span. My intial plan was to create a factory and separate classes that display the data differently based on type. However, I'm struggling coming up with a strategy for this using MVVM as I really can't just build something and display it. I have toyed with the idea of making some kind of UI service class that is injected, but it would still require some pretty detailed UI information from the controller to do it's work.

Hello, I want to modify this code which works pretty good but (or I don't know because I'm new with php) I can't limit the number of li's displayed for the main elements in the menu. The actual code will echo all elements it finds, I want to limit the times <li><a href='{$sLink}' {$sOnclick} target='_parent'>{$sPictureRep}{$sText}</a> this line is echoed.. let's say to echo just the first 15 elements + a "MORE" button under which to display the rest of the elements as sub-menus.. Injection of an EJB into a web java class under JBoss 7.1.1

I am trying to build a website using JBoss 7.1.1 and RESTeasy. I have managed to constructed and deploy and EAR with a both a WAR and an EJB-JAR contained within: voyager-app.ear META-INF/MANIFEST.MF META-INF/application.xml META-INF/jboss-app.xml lib/voyager-lib.jar voyager-adm.war voyager-ejb.jar voyager-web.war So far things are very simple. voyager-adm.war & voyager-lib.jar are empty (just the manifest file) but I know that I'm going to have code for them shortly. There is just one Stateful EJB - HarbourMasterBean (with just a local interface) and a few Database Entity Beans in the EJB jar file: voyager-ejb.jar META-INF/MANIFEST.MF META-INF/persistence.xml com/nutrastat/voyager/db/HarbourMasterBean.class com/nutrastat/voyager/db/HarbourMasterLocal.class com/nutrastat/voyager/db/PortEntity.class com/nutrastat/voyager/db/ShipEntity.class As far as I can tell the EJBs deploy correctly because the database units are created and the log shows that the publication of some HarbourMaster references: java:global/voyager-app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master!com.nutrastat.voyager.db.HarbourMasterLocal java:app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master!com.nutrastat.voyager.db.HarbourMasterLocal java:module/harbour-master!com.nutrastat.voyager.db.HarbourMasterLocal java:global/voyager-app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master java:app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master java:module/harbour-master The problem lies in getting the HarbourMaster EJB injected into my web bean.
