• [SmartGWT] How to center a DynamicForm?

  Hi there! I'm new in smartGWT and I'm getting problems designing my client. I'd like to know if there is a way to center a form. I have a TabSet in my page. I would like to make the first tab ("Welcome") similar to Google search engine, with the search box centered in the pane. The setAlign(Alignment.CENTER) method doesn't for this type of object. • How can I change the name of a dynamic assembly after it has been created?

  Is there any way to change the name of a dynamic assembly after it has been created? I'm using a framework that uses dynamic methods, and it is creating a dynamic assembly with the same name as my main assembly (which causes problems with WPF when it tries to load resources). So I need to find a workaround, and I thought of trying to change the name of the dynamic assembly. I've tried using GetName() and then setting the Name property, but it appears that GetName returns a clone of the name because my change doesn't stick. What else can I try?

• Profiling statements inside a User-Defined Function

  I'm trying to use SQL Server Profiler (2005) to track down some application performance problems. One of the calls being made is to a table-valued user-defined function. This function wraps a select that joins several tables together. In SQL Server Profiler, the call to the UDF is logged. However, the select that underlies the UDF isn't being logged at all. Because of this, I'm not getting useful data on which tables & indexes are being hit. I'd like to feed this info into the Database Tuning Advisor for some indexing advice. Is there any way (short of unwrapping the queries themselves) to log the tables called by UDFs in Profiler?

• How can I limit access to a particular class to one caller at a time in an ASMX web service?

  I have a web service method in which I create a particular type of object, use it for a few seconds, and then dispose it. Because of problems arising from multiple threads creating and using instances of this class at the same time, I need to restrict the method so that only one caller at a time ever has one of these objects. To do this, I am creating a private static object: private static object _lock = new object(); ... and then inside the web service method I do this around the critical code: lock (_lock) { using (DangerousObject do = new DangerousObject()) { do.MakeABigMess(); do.CleanItUp(); } } I'm not sure this is working, though. Do I have this right? Will this code ensure that only one instance of DangerousObject is instantiated and in use at a time? Or does each caller get their own copy of _lock, rendering my code here laughable?

• Objective-C Plugin Architecture Security (Mac, not iphone)

  I'm possibly writing a plugin system for a Cocoa application (Mac, not iphone). A common approach is the make each plugin a bundle, then inject the bundle into the main application. I'm concerned with the security implications of doing this, as the bundle will have complete access to the Objective-C runtime. I am especially concerned with a plugin having access to the code that handles registration and serial keys. Another plugin system we are considering is based on distributed notifications. Basically, each plugin will be a separate process, and they will communicate via distributed notifications only. Is there a way to load bundles securely (e.g. sandboxing)? If not, do you see any problems with using distributed notifications? Are there any other plugin architectures that would be better?

  I'm trying to update Eclipse 5.3.1 (on Gentoo Linux) from the Galileo Discovery Site and I get this error message: Network connection problems encountered during search.   Hi, I've just added a ttf file to the project (c# 2008 express) as "file" and build option to embeded resource. • How to keep a process running on a remote windows server

  I need to implement a background process that runs on a remote windows server 24/7. My development environment is C#/ASP.NET 3.5. The purpose of the process is to: Send reminder e-mails to employees and customers at appropriate times (say 5:00PM on the day before a job is scheduled) Query and save GPS coordinates of employees when they are supposed to be out on jobs so that I can later verify that their positions were where they were supposed to be. If the process fails (which it probably will, especially when updates are added), I need for it to be restarted immediately (or within just a few minutes) as I would have very serious problems if this process failed to send a notification, log a GPS coordinate, or any of the other tasks its meant to perform.

I use FMDB to wrap SQLite in my app. I haven't found any docs about the use of methods begin, beginUpdates, commit, finalize, etc. I face some problems in my apps which i think are caused by the way i use transactions. Here is what i tried : [FMDB beginUpdates] - My insert statement - [FMDB commit] [FMDB finalize] it crashes with this log : Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[FMDatabase<0xd705a0 finalize]: called when collecting not enabled' Could you please give me an example of how you are using transactions, or point me to a doc ? • Compiling a C program with a specific architecture

  I was recently fighting some problems trying to compile an open source library on my Mac that depended on another library and got some errors about incompatible library architectures. Can somebody explain the concept behind compiling a C program for a specific architecture? I have seen the -arch compiler flag before and have seen values passed to it such as ppc, i386 and x86_64 which I assume maps to the CPU "language", but my understanding stops there. If one program uses a particular architecture, do all libraries that it loads need to be on the same architecture as well? How can I tell what architecture a given program/process is running under?

• OS X contains heapsort in stdlib.h which conflicts with heapsort in sort library

  I'm using Ariel Faigon's sort library, found here: http://www.yendor.com/programming/sort/ I was able to get all my code working on Linux, but unfortunately, when trying to compile with GCC on Mac, its default stdlib.h contains another heapsort, which unfortunately results in a conflicting types error. Here's the man page for Apple heapsort: http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/man3/heapsort.3.html Commenting out the heapsort in the sort library header causes a whole heap of problems. (pardon the pun) I also briefly thought of commenting out my use of stdlib.h, but I use malloc and realloc, so that won't work at all. Any ideas?

  Hi, I want to create a multi-tenant application that uses the hostname to determine the customer. For example: CustomerOne.myapp.com AnotherCo.myapp.com AndOneMore.myapp.com ... I can do the database and security side with no problems, I can also get the hostname from the URL, but what I am struggling to find out is how to create the basic plumbing that would allow a new customer to sign up online, provide their company name, and for the application to create the new URL, ready to be used straight away. • Store JsTree order back into database

  Hi I am using JsTree and got some of it working with my database. Such as deleting a node, renaming a node, etc. I am having problems with saving the ROOT folders order back to the database. When I move the root folders, it doesnt save order. When I move the sub folders around, it saves order fine. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? • Subcontrols not visible in custom control derived from another control

  I'm trying to create a custom control by deriving from a ZedGraphControl I need to add a ProgressBar to the control, but I encountered some problems. When I create a custom control and add both, ZedGraphCOntrol and ProgressBar to it, everything is OK: MyCustomControl { ZedGraphControl ProgressBar } All elemnets are visible and working as expected. But I need to derive from ZGC and when I add a progress bar as a subcontrol of ZedGraphControl: MyCustomControl : ZedGRaphControl { ProgressBar } The progress bar is not visible. Is there any way to force the visibility of ProgressBar? Is it possible, that ZedGraphControl is not displaying its subcontrols? I tried do the same thing with a simple button and it's also not being displayed.

• How can I specifiy JUnit test dependencies?

  Our toolkit has over 15000 JUnit tests, and many tests are known to fail if some other test fails. For example, if the method X.foo() uses functionality from Y.foo() and YTest.testFoo() fails, then XTest.testFoo() will fail too. Obviously, XTest.testFoo() can also fail because of problems specific to X.foo(). While this is fine and I still want both tests run, it would be nice if one could annotate a test dependency with XTest.testFoo() pointing to YTest.testFoo(). This way, one could immediately see what functionality used by X.foo() is also failing, and what not. Is there such annotation available in JUnit or elsewhere? Something like: public YTests { @Test @DependsOn(method=org.example.tests.YTest#testFoo) public void testFoo() { // Assert.something(); } }

  I have the following navigation where .topNav has position:relative and subnav has position:absolute. I cant get the sublist to appear over the main list due to z-index problems. This seems to be a known problem. <ul> <li class="topNav">About Us <ul class="subNav"><li> Subsection A</li><li>Subsection B</li></ul> </li> </ul> Does anyone know of a workaround? • Is it possible to use Regex through Hexadecimal to find email addresses

  Not sure if this is even possible but I have been looking at using Regex to get an email address that is in Hex. Basically this is to build up some of my automated forensic tools but I am having problems on making a suitable Regex algorithm. Regex for email: /^([a-z0-9_.-]+)@([\da-z.-]+).([a-z.]{2,6})$/ Hex values: @ = 40 . = 2E .com = 636f6d _ = 5f A/a = 41/61 [1] Z/z = 5a/7a - = 2d This is what I have got at the moment (it only takes into account lower case and .com). But it doesn't work! Have I messed something simple up? "/^([61-7a]+)40([61-7a]+)23(636f6d)$/" [1] I know email can only be lower case but I need to take uppercase into account too.

  I have an ASP.NET 3.5 page with an update panel and history enabled. It works fine when I perform async postbacks but I get problems when I want to perform a normal postback. The page load happens fine for the normal postback but then I get asynchronous page loads from the script manager which load the ajax history in. If I could have the ajax history not loading for the times I want to perform a normal postback then everything would be fine. Is there anyway to do this?

  Hello, I want to develop a POS application in .NET (C#) that would be used to rent items. I have a good idea of what will be done and the famous question that I have is about the DBMS that I should use. I would like to use MySQL database. The question is: If some places use only one computer (no network, no internet connection), can I use a MySQL database in local? Do I need to install MySQL server on all thoses computers to be able to use such a database? I know SQLite but I'm not sure if the limitations can cause problems in the future... I also looked at SQLServer Express versions. (I must consider that other point of sales are using multiple computers and more transactions so there I can't put sqlexpress or sqlite) So can anybody suggest me what I should do in that situation? • Webservice won't accept JSON requests

  Hi, The main issue is that I cannot run a webservice that accepts requests in JSON format. I keep getting a 500 Server error stating that the "request format is invalid." My ASP.NET AJAX extensions are installed. My server is running Plesk Control Panel 8.6 which is undoubtedly causing these problems. The default handler for this specified extension is shown in the web.config like so: For my applications webservice to handle JSON it needs to have this reference: <add name="ScriptHandlerFactory" verb="*" path="*.asmx" preCondition="integratedMode" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/> Plesk is not allowing the request to be handled properly. I need to know the correct http directive(s) to put into the web.config to properly handle JSON webservices. I tried posting to the Plesk forum two days ago but no response yet. Any insight would be great =)

  I would like to populate the list of mailboxes from "Mail" folder of Domino from c# using the above API (Interop.Domino.dll). I have no problems connecting to Notes, accessing the database.It is easy to access all nsf files but i want to access only only nsf files in Mail Folder i.e Mail files. I am using below code: while (_localDatabase != null) { dbString = _localDatabase.Title; TreeNode objRootNode = new TreeNode(dbString); objForm.tvwExchDomain.Nodes.Add(objRootNode); dbCount = dbCount + 1; _localDatabase = dir.GetNextDatabase(); } Kindly suggest me some links or sample code which will make my work simpler.
