  • C++ Multi Monitor - Find All Visible/Open Windows

    I'm trying to find all the windows of ANY kind that are open (and have a taskbar 'button'). I have no problems finding the list processes/hWnd's, and then cycling through those, but how do I determine if a process/hwnd has a window open? (even if minimized). I've tried doing different combinations of the window parameters (such as WS_POPUP etc) but none of the parameters (or combinations of parameters) that I could find would give me all the open windows without some sort of false positives. As an example of a false positive was the fact that it gives me two 'windows' for google talk (even though one was open). Another false positive is considering the start menu as an open window. Any ideas? Solutions? I've been working on this for a while and its been driving me a bit insane. Note: I'm doing this for windows 7 (at this point). I'm not sure if there's any difference between how you would do this between XP and 7, but I thought it might be relevant.

  • Having trouble using jQuery's .animate() to animate a div from left to right, right to left?

    Hello, I seem to be having difficulties using jQuery .animate() to animate an absolutely positioned div from right to left on a button click, and left to right on another button click. I was wondering if you would be willing to help me understand what I'm doing wrong? Thanks. Below is my relevant CSS, HTML, and jQuery code. I can click the #moveLeft button and it wil indeed animate it to the left, but when I click the #moveRight button, nothing happens. Where am I going wrong? Thanks!!   • Passing a string to a function in C++

    I want to pass a string like "Celcius" into a function that I have but I keep getting errors tossed back at me from the Function. System::Console::WriteLine' : none of the 19 overloads could convert all the argument types I figure I just have something simple wrong. Can someone point out my mistake please?   • Converting a view to Bitmap without displaying it in Android?

    Hi, I will try to explain what exactly I need to do. I have 3 separate screens say A,B,C. There is another screen called say HomeScreen where all the 3 screens bitmap should be displayed in Gallery view and the user can select in which view does he wants to go. I have been able to get the Bitmaps of all the 3 screens and display it in Gallery view by placing all the code in HomeScreen Activity only. Now, this has complicated the code a lot and I will like to simplify it. So, can I call another Activity from HomeScreen and do not display it and just get the Bitmap of that screen. For example, say I just call HomeScreen and it calls Activity A,B,C and none of the Activities from A,B,C are displayed. It just gives the Bitmap of that screen by getDrawingCache(). And then we can display those bitmaps in Gallery view in HomeScreen. I hope I have explained the problem very clearly. Please let me know if this is actually possible. Regards Sunil

    Hey there. I'm running into a bit of trouble while trying to cancel the submit of a form. I've been following this tutorial (even though i'm not making a login script), and it seems to be working for him. My first thought was that it might be outdated, but it's actually "just" a year ago. So do anyone see what's wrong? Thanks in advance. EDIT: From what i've read the easiest and most appropriate way to abort the submit is to return false? But i can't seem to get it working. I've searched the forum and i've found several helpful threads but none of them actually works. I must be screwing something up.

  • Overriding CSS properties for iframe width

    I'm trying to put an iframe into a webpage, but no matter what I try to put in either the iframe properties or the custom CSS section of the website builder (or how many times I try to add !important to anything from width to right-margin), I can't get the iframe to extend rightward further than the page's preset width. Here's an example of the page and iframe that I'm working with: http://fmlcapitalinvestment.com/Search_Properties.html I need that script/iframe to be wide enough to show the search area.   • android app doesn't show on the emulator

    I made an android application using eclipse and it is working fine when I started developing my app. But then as I continue to develop the app the emulator seems to be not updating the application prior to the changes I have made on the code. So I tried deleting my avd and create a new one every time I run my app, and that seems to have worked. Now my problem is that my emulator doesn't show my app. It says "Failed to install *.apk on device 'emulator-5554': An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine". I searched for ways to solved it but none of it seems to have worked. I tried killing the adb process (as most my searches would say) on the task manager but still my app doesn't show on the emulator. The emulator is running and all but my icon is nowhere to be found. Am I misssing out something? Is the problem connected to the first problem i had before? As I said, I started developing android app recently, so please bear with me. :) I appreciate all your help.Thanks in advance.

  • IE showing hidden div under certain circumstances

    After googling around and finding a lot of ie bugs I still did not find a description of the problem I have. The initial situation is a standard one. We have a tooltip which is actually a hidden div that will be displayed on mouseover at a given location. The div is hidden with display:none and contains a table with the content. We tried different libraries for showing the div (scriptaculous and jQuery Cluetip) but the effect is the same. The problem: Everything is fine as long as the contents fits the width of my window. But when I resize it until the horizontal scrollbar is activated the content of the hidden div will be shown at the end of the page when the tooltip is activated. This is really strange as it happens only under these premises. When more than one tooltip is involved the browser might even crash (and under Vista takes the whole system with him duh). I know it's a bit complicated to explain but I hope that someone at least had heard of that bug and can point me into the right direction.

  • Sliding div in jquery

    I am trying to make a toolbar type section on the top of my site. I just need one div that will be hidden by default, and a button that will be hanging off the bottom of that div. When it is clicked, the div should slide down (with the button still on bottom). And upon clicking, it should slide back up. Here is what I currently have: <div id="account_toolbar" style="background-color:#fff;"> <div id="toolbar_contents" style="display:none;"> This is the account toolbar so far </div> <div id="button" style="background-color: #ff0000;"><%= image_tag "templates/_global/my_account.png", :id => "my_account_btn", :style => "float: right; margin-right: 100px;" %></div> </div> The image tag is using ruby/rails syntax, so pay no attention to that. It will render like any other image tag. Here is the jquery i'm using: $('#my_account_btn').click(function () { $('#toolbar_contents').slideToggle(); }); So, this is actually working for the most part. My problem however is that the spacing where the toolbar content div goes, pushes the account button down. When it slides up or down it temporarily attaches itself to the bottom of the div, then jumps back down once it is finished sliding (leaving a gap between the bottom of the hidden div and the top of the account button).     Hi stackoverflow friends, I'm trying to write a program to automate one of my more boring and repetitive work tasks. I have some programming experience but none with processing or interpreting large volumes of data so I am seeking your advice (both suggestions of techniques to try and also things to read to learn more about doing this stuff). I have a piece of equipment that monitors an experiment by taking repeated samples and displays the readings on its screen as a graph. The input of experiment can be altered and one of these changes should produce a change in a section of the graph which I currently identify by eye and is what I'm looking for in the experiment. I want to automate it so that a computer looks at a set of results and spots the experiment input that causes the change. I can already extract the results from the machine. Currently they results for a run are in the form of an integer array with the index being the sample number and the corresponding value being the measurement. The overall shape of the graph will be similar for each experiment run. The change I'm looking for will be roughly the same and will occur in approximately the same place every time for the correct experiment input. Unfortunately there are a few gotchas that make this problem more difficult. There is some noise in the measuring process which mean there is some random variation in the measured values between different runs. Although the overall shape of the graph remains the same. The time the experiment takes varies slightly each run causing two effects. First, the a whole graph may be shifted slightly on the x axis relative to another run's graph. Second, individual features may appear slightly wider or narrower in different runs. In both these cases the variation isn't particularly large and you can assume that the only non random variation is caused by the correct input being found. Thank you for your time, Pinky

    Apologies, I'm very new to jQuery. I am trying to apply jQuery to a div which could contain any number of p tags of varying length or none at all. Depending on the assembled p's this div needs to maintain a height of 45px. If the p's contained therein push the div to be higher than 45px then I need to add an anchor image which users can click allowing the div to slide up and reveal the div's contents.   • "render as JSON" is display JSON as text instead of returning it to AJAX call as expected

    I'm navigating to the index action of MyController. Some of the on the index page I'm making an AJAX call back to myAction in MyController. I expect myAction action to return some data as JSON to my AJAX call so I can do something with the data client side, but instead of returning the data as JSON like I want, the data is being displayed as text. Example of my Grails controller: class MyController { def index() { render( view: "myView" ) } def myAction { def mapOfStuff = [ "foo": "foo", "bar":] render mapOfStuff as JSON } } Example of my JavaScript: $( function() { function callMyAction() { $.ajax({ dataType: 'json', url: base_url + '/myController/myAction', success: function( data ) { $(function() { if( data.foo ) { alert( data.foo ); } if( data.bar ) { alert( data.bar ); } }); } }); } }); What I expect is that my page will render, then my JavaScript will be called, then two alerts will display. Instead the JSON array is displayed as text in my browser window: {"foo":"foo","bar":"bar"} At this point the last segment of the URL in my address bar is myAction and not index. Now if I manually enter the URL of the index page and press refresh, all works as expected. I have half a dozen AJAX calls I do the exact same way and none of them are having problems. What is the deal here? UPDATE: I have noticed something. When I set a break point in the index action of MyController and another one in the myAction action, the break point in myAction gets hit BEFORE the break point in index, even though I am navigating to the index. This is obviously closer to the root cause of my problem, but why is it happening?

    Hello, I'm having trouble with the following example. Background: I first have a element floated to the right with an image output inside it. I then have a element with other content within it. In FF and IE 8, as expected, the .images div floated to the right displays floated to the right pushing the content within the .product-body div to the left nicely. The problem: But when viewed in IE 7 compatibility mode, the .product-body div is cleared underneath the .images div and thus the .images div does not fall nicely to the right as expected. IT does this regardless of whether or not i have clear:none; on the .broduct-body div.     I have a problem with the following code. I tried changing many things (symbols, classes, imgs in the code) but this is killing me and I have no idea how to fix it. Sorry it's so specific, when solved I'll change the title to something more useful. I have two images. My jquery has to calculate the day and show one image or the other depending on that (using a class with display:none). My month has 24 days (it's a xmas thing).   • Blit SDL_Surface onto another SDL_Surface and apply a colorkey

    I want to load an SDL_Surface into an OpenGL texture with padding (so that NPOT-POT) and apply a color key on the surface afterwards. I either end up colorkeying all pixels, regardless of their color, or not colorkey anything at all. I have tried a lot of different things, but none of them seem to work. Here's the working snippet of my code. I have lots of search and solutions, but unfortunately didn't got the right one. - Using style with no-script tag: This one could be broke with removing style... <noscript> <style type="text/css"> .HideClass { display:none; } </style> </noscript> The past code will work just fine but there is lots of problems in no-script tag as here Beside that i don't want to redirect user with no-script tag too...Beside that i can quickly stop loading the page to broke this meta or disable Meta tag from IE: <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; URL=Frm_JavaScriptDisable.aspx" /> Another way to redirect user with JavaScript but this will work let's say for 99% of users and this one isn't lovely way and will slow down the website... window.location="http://www.location.com/page.aspx"; Is there is any other ideas or suggestions to secure working with JavaScript...and prevent user from entering the website or see my form except when JavaScript enabled...

    I'm working through a small file upload script (learning experience) and I noticed that when selecting microsoft office related files (.doc or .docx for example) the file objects do not have a type specified: For .doc files I had expected the type to be "application/msword" and along the same train of thought .docx to be "application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document". In the cases when the type cannot be determined is the correct course of action to look at the file extension and match that to the "expected" content / mime type?     I am trying to create some validation for a form I have. There are two text boxes and two radio buttons on the form. My logic for this validation I know is a little rusty at the moment so any suggestions would be great.   • Is there a Twitter Bootstrap class that means "initially hidden"?

    Using Bootstrap 3, I have an element on a page I want to show later in response to the user clicking a button. Example: <div id="search_results"> ... gets populated from ajax data later ... </div> <button id="search_button" type="button" class="btn btn-primary pull-right">Search</button> <script> $('#search_button').click(function() { // ... do the call to search // and in the callback: $('#search_results').show(); }); </script> The search_results div should be initially hidden. Is there some normal/best practice way of doing this with bootstrap? Yes, I do realize I can just put style="display:none" on search_results, but is that the best way to do it? It would seem to be a bit better to have a style that semantically means "initially hidden". (NOTE: The hidden or hide classes don't do this as they are !important and show(), toggle(), etc. use an inline style which does not override them, i.e. setting "hidden" as the class makes it unshowable from jQuery.)
