• Algorithm to merge adjacent rectangles into polygon

  I guess that my problem is related to "convex hull", but no the same. All shapes in the drawing are rectangles with same width and height. Many are adjacent to each other. I want to combine those adjacent rectangles into polygons. Unlike "convex hull", the resuled polygons could be "hollow" inside. Is there any open source algorithm available?

• Can't import contacts into Outlook from Excel

  I run MS Office 2010. I have all contacts from a previous Outlook 2010 saved in an Excel sheet. I have tried dozens of time to import, but when Outlooks is supposed to do the mapping of the columns I only have one column in my CSV-file: firstname;middlename;surname, etc. It means I cannot map the data correctly. I have tried saving in MS-DOS and Tab and it does not get better. I have tried saving on another computer and it does help either. ALso tried importing to Gmail with same result. Can anyone help?

  I am creating a LaTeX document in TeXnicCenter with LaTeX = PDF profile. There is a feature which allows to open and scroll auto-generated PDF to the paragraph that is under the cursor in TeXnicCenter. This works with Sumatra PDF and the feature is called "Forward search" in Profile settings, "Viewer" tab. I would like to have the same feature with Adobe Reader. Is this possible at all? Do I have to use "command line" or "DDE command" setting? What do I have to fill in "Command", "Server", "Topic" fields in the Profile settings?

  I tried "Switcher" and the new switcher by NTSoft... but none of them are for my taste. I want to have a switcher like what you get with an Intellimouse by Microsoft. You know, press the button and get a cool tiled layout of thumbnails. To be precise, anything is fine with me. I've read a couple pages that referenced refreshing the DOM after the javascript runs, but I haven't been able to successfully do it (I know enough about javascript to hack things around and get stuff working, but not enough to create whole new things). It is worth noting that Silverlight doesn't work with Internet Explorer 8 or Safari (not sure if it's my code, mejs, or the browsers). Also, neither Silverlight nor Flash play mp3 or webm (again, not sure where the problem lies). Is there a way to dynamically load different types of files into mediaelement?

I would like to change the height and width attributes in the image tag (<img>) if it is greater than 200x200. However, if it's smaller than that, then I'd like to keep the size as it is. • How to reconnect to Remote Session in a script?

  Hello, I need to persist a Remote desktop connection across a reboot of a Terminal server. I'm thinking that it would be something like a scheduled task that would run periodically and check the running state of the session and restart it if it's down. BTW, I did check the "Reconnect..." checkbox on the advanced tab of the connection options, but it still goes down everytime we restart the terminal server. Does anyone have the script that would accomplish the above in a scheduled task, or perhaps another solution?

• Flash - Ease out scrolling moviclip, scrolled by sensor on each side

  I am hoping someone can shed some light on this issue for me... I have a movieclip that is scrolled by means of a 'sensor' on each side of the stage. The clip scrolls fine in both directions, however here is my problem: When the users mouse leaves the stage, the movie clip stops dead in it's tracks, and this does not provide a noce smooth effect. Looking at the code below, is there any way I could tell the animation to ease out when the users mouse leaves the stage rather than simply stop suddenly?   Hi all, Two rows in the my database have the following data: brand | product | style ================================================= Doc Martens | Doc Martens 1460 Boots | NULL NewBalance | New Balance WR1062 SG Width | NULL Mininum word length is set to 3, and a FULLTEXT index is created across all the three columns above. When I run a search for IS BOOLEAN matches for +doc in the index, I get the first row returned as a result. When I search for +new, I get no results. Can someone explain why? Thanks.

• Need IPSec help on Windows 2003

  Hey guys, I am trying to configure IPSec between a web and app server in our environment. I want all traffic between these two servers to use IPsec and be encrypted. These servers are on the same domain so i am currently using Kerebos for security, I have also tried pre-defined keys and nothing changed. When I try and ping between the servers I get "Negotiating IP Security" everytime. I have also confirmed that when I change "Require Security" to "Permit" everything works so IPSec is working, I believe its something with my security setup. Under the security tab both servers have the default 3DES keys first and then DES keys. I have also specified tunnel endpoints (the alternate server's IP). What am I missing? Thanks for any help..

  i'm having a difficult time understanding how to control the z property of display objects in a 3D space. i know how depth works, but what i don't understand is how i can get the maximum depth, or the number at which the display object just disappears into the background. i assume depth is based on the stage's width and height, and that is why assigning the same depth of the same display object appars mismatched with different stage sizes. so how can i appropriately measure depth?

  On an Excel 2007 worksheet, I have several tables, each sharing the same columns. For every table, I sort in several particular ways, depending on the task at hand. It gets tedious going to the Data tab, clicking Sort, unchecking the "my data has headers" checkbox, then add/removing the columns and ordering sort criteria. Is it possible to: * Save a given sort criteria (a named sort)? * Apply the sort against any selected range? * Create a button to execute each saved sort? In the end, I would create 4 or 5 named sorts and a button for each on the worksheet. Then would be able to select any range of rows, from any table, and click one of the sort buttons. The sort would execute.

• IE is ignoring Z-Index on positioned elements

  IE yet again is proving to be the bane of my existence. The top of a site I'm working on has a horizontal menu, an item of which triggers a pure-CSS menu that is positioned absolute within the parent menu DIV (positioned relative). This places the menu perfectly in both IE and the W3C compliant browsers. The problem arises when I have more positioned elements further down on the page. These are also positioned relative, because there is data inside them that needs to be positioned absolute... again, this displays properly in all browsers I've tested it on. The problem is, that then the top menu is opened, part is obscured by the positioned elements further down the page - in effect, it's positioned BELOW these elements even though there are z-index properties defined on all. (in both the CSS file and inline). The only way to get IE to display this properly is to place the actual HTML for the menu at the bottom of the page, below (in DOM terms) the positioned elements elsewhere on the page. I would only do this as an absolute last resort. All Elements are the same type (div). • IE image map remains clickable behind another div

  I have an Image Map of the United States. When you click on a state, the map fades out and a map of that state appears with an image map of the area codes in the state. In Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, the state map becomes clickable and the United States map becomes unclickable until you close the sate popover. However in Internet Explorer, the United States map remains clickable through the state popover, and I cannot click on any area codes. • How to line-wrap console output in NetBeans 6.8?

  Is there a way to make the console output text wrap based on the actual width of the window? I have limited screen height real estate on my laptop, and so want to have the console window docked on the right rather than the bottom of the window. An option or a plugin is fine, I'm using NetBeans 6.8. If this exists in a newer version of NetBeans, please say so, but I can't install a dev build.

• Google Chrome calling nypost.com every ~5 seconds

  I'm using Chrome 21.0.1180.49 beta on Mac OS X 10.7.4. Did some Googling and can't figure this out. I visited a page on nypost.com earlier this morning. Just noticed that Little Snitch is reporting that nypost.com is being called every 4-6 seconds or so. I closed the tab after reading the story, a few hours ago. I created a rule in Little Snitch denying access to nypost.com, but Chrome is apparently still connecting to it. (1) Why? and (2) How can I put an end to this? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
