    Hi, We have a weird instance where we noticed our oracle database server swap utilization was 100% and surprised to see that the system had free memory available during that period. To my knowledge, swap memory utilization starts once system runs out of free RAM (please correct me if i'm wrong). Not sure what could have caused this unusual activity.     I'm interested in people's thoughts comparing storing data in a traditional SQL based Database or utilising a Memory-Mapped File such as the one in the new .Net 4.0 runtime. The data in question would be arrays of simple structures. Obvious pros and cons: SQL Database Pros Adhoc query support SQL Management Tools Schema changes (adding more columns and setting default values) Memory-Mapped Pros Lighter overhead?     I have UIScrollView with number of subviews. Each subview is custom UIButton with UIImage. When I load more and more subviews, more and more memory is used. But I remove invisible subviews by removeFromSuperView method. Subviews are removed and stay invisible, but Im afraid that no memory is released. UIImage is image downloaded from internet.     Hello, I'm testing my App and in a very simple view, each time a tap on a UITableView row, my allocation overall bytes get higher and higher and never go downs. I don't have any special code there, so I created a new project from scratch with a very simple view, force one section and just three rows. In the didSelectRowAtIndexPath code do nothing, and fire it with instruments and memory allocation and, the memory goes up with every cell selection ...     I have a brother mfc-5440cn and tried to adjust the vertical alignment with the result that the printing quality now is very poor. The printer prints a small schadow next to each letter :-( I tried to re-adjust the alignment, but for the 600dpi settings, there is no pattern that matches the 0-pattern (you know what I mean when you've once adjsuted a brother printer :-) Is there a way to make a factory reset?

To do this, I need a pointer to some free memory to that process in order to put the values there (and then read them from my process). This can be done in normal Windows or Win32 with the VirtualAllocEx function. However, this function is not supported in windows mobile ! Can you recommend me a way to allocate that memory?

  • Qt releasing memory occopied by unneeded images

    I have a QML Flickable with 3 QML image elements that cycle through 8 image files. My problem is for each new image it loads into memory it does not release the the unused image. This is causing memory usage to become double what is necessary at times. I would like to know if there is some function I can use to force it to unload all the unused images? If it makes a difference, this is mainly for Symbian.
