  I've got a scheduled task set up in my Windows 7 machine which is meant to run a BAT file when I'm not around, i.e. the machine has been idle for 15 minutes. Does anyone know how to track down the cause of the error code ? Checked on MSDN and it says ... SCHED_E_TASK_ATTEMPTED 0x80041324 The Task Scheduler service attempted to run the task, but the task did not run due to one of the constraints in the task definition. And to confuse me even further, I've just noticed it has run while I'm at the machine with last result (0x0)

  I have been searching the internet forever now, but I am using wubi on a windows 8.1 laptop. I have properly burned the newest version of Ubuntu, I have never done this before, so please put the answer in simple terms. When I open wubi it comes up with these options: -reboot now -manually reboot later I put reboot now, and it reboots with no changes or differences to my operating system. The installer does not pop up upon rebooting and I have no idea what to try. I am a totally newbie at this. Please help me. I am using an Asus computer.

  I am trying to run Active Directory Admin Center (dsac.exe) on Windows 7 as another user by means of creating a shortcut, rather than having to Shift+Right click and specify the user. On Windows XP I could create a runas shortcut like this (forget for a moment that dsac.exe does not exist in Windows XP): runas /user:DOMAIN\user dsac.exe When I run this on Windows 7, the cmd style windows pops up and asks for the password for DOMAIN\user, but I get the following message: Attempting to start dsac.exe as user "DOMAIN\user" ... RUNAS ERROR: Unable to run - dsac.exe 740: The requested operation requires elevation. How do I get Windows 7 to automatically run dsac.exe as a specified user? I'm happy to fill in a password prompt for the specified user, but would be even happier if there was a solution that cached the password, so I didn't have to enter it more than once a day.

When using Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) with your CMSDK repository you need to have a specific configuration in place to support such a setup. This post will explain the configuration steps required when running CMSDK 9.0.4.6 with Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS).In the previous CMSDK 9.0.4.2 version a RAC enabled connect string looked like this: (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = rac1)(PORT = 1521))(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = rac2)(PORT = 1521))(LOAD_BALANCE = NO)(FAILOVER = ON)(CONNECT_DATA =(SERVICE_NAME = rac)(failover_mode = (type=select)(method=basic)))CMSDK 9.0.4.6 makes use of data sources to connect to the underlying database. These data sources are configured inside your Application Server, such as Oracle WebLogic Server.In Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.4, a single data source implementation has been introduced to support an RAC cluster. It responds to Fast Application Notification (FAN) events to provide Fast Connection Failover (FCF), Runtime Connection Load-Balancing (RCLB), and RAC instance graceful shutdown. • Unintentional run-in with C# thread concurrency

  For the first time today we began conducting load testing on a ASP.NET application already in production. Obviously you would normally want to load test prior to releasing to a production environment, but that isn't the point here.   We ran a test which simulated 5 users hitting the application doing the same actions simultaneously. The first few pages visited seemed fine and then things just hung for a while before the test failed. While the test was running I was viewing the performance counters on the server noting that the CPU was consistently pegged at 100% until the testing tool gave up.   Fortunately the application logs all exceptions including those unhandled to the database (thanks to log4net). I checked the log and low and behold the error was:   System.ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added. (The rest of the stack trace intentionally omitted)   Since the code was running with debug on the line number where the exception occured was also provided. I began inspecting the code and almost immediately it hit me, the section of code responsible for the exception is trying to initialize a static class. My next question was how is this code being hit multiple times when I have a rudimentary check already in place to prevent this kind of thing (i.e. a check on a public variable of the static class before entering the initializing routine). The answer...the check fails because the value is not set before other threads have already made it through.   Not being one who consistently works with threading I wasn't quite sure how to handle this problem. Fortunately a co-worker recalled having to lock a section of code in the past but couldn't recall exactly how. After a quick search on Google the solution is as follows:   Object objLock = new Object(); lock(objLock) { //logic requiring lock }   The lock statement takes an object and tells the .NET runtime that the current thread has exclusive access while the code within brackets is executing. Once the code completes, the lock is released for another thread to utilize.   In my case, I only need to execute the inner code once to initialize my static class. So within the brackets I have a check on a public variable to prevent it from being initialized again.

  I'd like to use perlscripts without their extension. f.e. "index" instead of "index.pl". Changing the DefaultType-directive from text/plain to application/x-perl didn't do the trick. Instead of running the script the server offered to download its source. I'm not exactly sure if changing this directive is the right approach. Telling apache to read the shebang-line when there is no extension sounds much better to me. I hope someone with more experience on this topic can help me out.

  Can I add a button to each wiki page in ikiwiki which launches an external application (on the client side) or script with the markdown code of the current page as input? Edit: I didn't realize that it might be complicated to do it on client side as Zenklys' answer suggested. So perhaps I should describe more concretely what I have in mind: I want to have two buttons: "Get LaTeX" and 2. "Get pdf". Clicking on "Get LaTeX should generate a LaTeX file and the browser should simply open or download that file. Analogously for the pdf. It would even be ok, to have a button "Generate LaTeX" instead, which generates the LaTeX code and changes after the generation to "Get LaTeX" which simply points to the LaTeX file. So it is not really necessary to do the generation of the files on client side. Would be ok, if this is done (on a temporary folder) on server side. For the LaTeX resp. pdf generation I want to use a custom wrapper script for pandoc, let's call it mymarkdown2latex resp. mymarkdown2pdf.

  From the powershell prompt, when I try to run a program and feed it a command line option, powershell ends up mangling the option. Why does this happen? Is there any way to stop it besides enclosing the option in quotes? For example, from the powershell prompt: PS Microsoft.PowerShell.Core\FileSystem::\\mach\share .\myprog.exe -file=input.txt myprog.exe ends up getting two arguments: 1) -file=input 2) .txt I need to run it like: .\myprog.exe "-file=input.txt" or .\myprog.exe '-file=input.txt' to force it to be one argument. No other shell does this.

The website is lacking any documentation or usage instructions, and I could not find any information on this here as well. I tried, naturally, to start ubuntu-tweak from the command line, hoping additional API exists that will come through in this (allegedly) simple task. I only got as far as: ubuntu-tweak -f janitor which is a step in the right direction, but what's still missing is a command for the clear action.   Is apt-get purge --auto-remove packagename a valid command? Or, does it have to be apt-get remove --purge --auto-remove packagename? The Ubuntu manpage for apt-get (http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/precise/man8/apt-get.8.html) only mentions using the --auto-remove option "If the command is either install or remove...", so I was wondering if it could also be used with the purge command, since that is just a shortcut for the remove command with the --purge option.   I have finished a simple 2D one-on-one indoor football Android game. The thing that it seemed so simple to me, a human being, turned out to be difficult for a computer: how to go around the opponent … At the moment the game logic of the computer player is that if it hits into the human player will step back few points on the pixel greed and then try again to go towards the ball. The problem is if the human player is in-between then the computer player will oscillate in one place, which does not look very nice and the human opponent can use this weakness to control the game. You can see this in the photo – at the moment the computer will go along the red line indefinitely. I tried few ideas but it proved not easy to do it when both the human player and the ball are constantly moving so at each step computer would change directions and “oscillate” again. Once when the computer player reaches the ball it will kick it with certain amount of random strength and direction towards the human’s goal. The question here is how to formulate the logic of going around the ever moving human opponent and how to translate it into the co-ordinate system and frame by frame animation… any suggestions welcome.

  I've purchased a virtual server, where I'm given of a non-root sudo-enabled user. Actually I do need to create an FTP account that's not that sudo-able account, so I created a no-login account just for that purpose. I've set up VSFTPd correctly, also enabling the "userlist" feature, to specify which user are permitted to use FTP. Then I created an empty directory under my sudo-able account, and I gave ownership permissions to the second account, so to make it more easy to understand, let's say the main account (the one I do use to manage my VPS) is called ubuntu and the FTP-user is named ftpuser, I created a directory /home/ubuntu/mywebsite giving the ownership to ftpuser:ftpuser. Then I uploaded a worpdress website, whose default permissions are 755 and 644. The issue is that Apache is not given of any privilege to run the website. How can I make the website run properly, and which is the most secure? Should I run that virtualhost with another user (if it's possible)? Should I force the FTP user to use the www-data group (if that's possible) and run with permissions like 775 and 664? How can I solve this issue? Any help is appreciated, I'd like to run it using the default permissions, so any update won't break up anything (because of permissions reset).

  From my past experience (using Win-Xp), this particular monitor works only on 60Hz , Best resolution being 1024*768. I have "installed n configured" Ubuntu 12.04 Minimal (on USB stick) so that most of the time terminal is used, however whenever theirs a need to enter GUI I may issue startx command to go into gnome. However the problem is that on this particular system, issuing this command poses problem for its default refresh rate don't synchronize with the monitor. The display keep on flickering and utterly unreadable. It is visible that gnome has been loaded and default wallpaper and desktop items are visible. But the problem is due to refresh rate different than 60Hz. I am looking for a command attribute to startx command which will force the refresh rate to 60Hz and resolution preferably to 1204*768

Why: The SCMS database is used for collecting, analyzing and recording college coach and athletic directors’ employment and contract data.   I am relatively new to ubuntu [I've used it before and loved it but one day i just randomly couldn't connect to the internet anymore so i switched back to windows... also netflix doesn't work in ubuntu...] and I've noticed that when i used it before everything ran very smoothly and the window animations and stuff like that were just beautiful. now though, everything is choppy and just ugly really. I wanna say its because i was using an older kernel but i really don't know. Anyway, i guess my point is, How can i get it to look pretty again? i really do wish i could be more descriptive but... yeah... I'm on Maverick btw. if anymore information is required i will happily oblige, just let me know.

  tl;dr: How does the ubuntu user on the AWS images for Ubuntu Server 12.04 have passwordless sudo for all commands when there is no configuration for it in `/etc/sudoers'? I'm using Ubuntu server 12.04 on Amazon. I want to add a new user that has the same behaviour as the default ubuntu user. Specifically I want passwordless sudo for this new user. So I've added a new user and went to edit /etc/sudoers (using visudo of course). From reading that file it seemed like the default ubuntu user was getting it's passwordless sudo from being a member of the admin group. So I added my new user to that. Which didn't work. Then I tried adding the NOPASSWD directive to sudoers. Which also didn't work. Anyway, now I'm just curious. How does the ubuntu user get passwordless privileges if they aren't defined in /etc/sudoers. What is the mechanism that allows this?

  I recently installed a fresh version of Ubuntu 12.10 on my notebook. Then I copied the backup copy of my nwn folder from my old 12.04 install on the same computer to the new installation and tried to start the game. The terminal prompt disappears and top shows some low activity on nwmain, but there is neither showing up the game graphics nor plays any music. Any suggestions how to fix it? The game runs fine using the same setup expect for running on 12.04. Kind regards and thanks in advance

• Nvidia 8600 GT drivers Will not run setup

  I am attempting to upgrade my video card drivers with my nvidia 8600 gt. I downloaded the drivers from NVIDIA and when I run the setup, nothing happens. It does appear in the Processes, but never does anything. I've tried restarting, tried killing the process and re-running, I am an admin account... nothing works. What is wrong? [EDIT] The installer does run, it extracts the setup files to C:\NVIDIA as normal then when it tries to run that setup to do the actual install, nothing happens (the process does show up in Task Manager and just sits there). Attempting to run the installer manually via C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\296.10\WinXP\English\Setup.exe has the process open, but nothing happens. This machine is WinXP 32bit.
