    Does anyone know of any tools for extending the functionality of Sharepoint's existing version control system for Office documents? It'd be great to be able to do branching/merging, or to store versions as "deltas" off the previous to cut down on storage used. Any suggestions at all would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

    Hi, I am querying SharePoint 2010 search using FullTextSqlQuery. The query returns results as long as i run it from the webpart. However, for some reason, i need to run the same query from a custom aspx page deployed under layouts. The query returns a wcf exception. Has anyone tried running custom queries from pages deployed to layouts folder under 14 hive? Thanks, Faiz

    I have column called "Date Submitted" as Date/time in one of the Custom list in sharepoint 2007. it always set to today's date and 12AM time instead of that I want to display today's date with current time hh:mm:ss. I tried creating calculated column TestDate and formula is : =TEXT(([Date Submitted]),"mm dd yyyy h:MM:SS") result is 04 28 2010 0:00:00 I wanted to be 04/28/2010 10:50:34 Is it possible to achive this?     Hi all I made a custom sharepoint workflow with Visual studio, the workflow starts when a new item is inserted in a list I assigned the title of the task to reference a field in the new item TaskProps.Title = "Please prepare Hardware for project " + workflowProperties.Item["Contract"].ToString().Split('#')[1]; the task title is correct but i find the string (exteranl participant) concatenated the title of the task what can be the reason for this ? thanks

I created a class as the following public class CustomLookupControl:BaseFieldControl and overided this method protected override string DefaultTemplateName { get { return base.DefaultTemplateName; } } but when I edit an item I find that the place of the field is empty. my question is that I don't want to implement a custom rendering template for the field, I want to use the default template of the lookup field how can this be achieved.

    Hallo, i need to add a user to a SharePoint-Website (WSS 3.0) via a Web Service. Using the API i would use the SPWeb.EnsureUser method, but i can't run my own code on the server. I was hoping the Users and Groups Web Service could help, but it does not provide a suitable method. So, is there a Web Service equivalent to SPWeb.EnsureUser? Thanks!
