  • 398 row datalist slowing down modal open????

    Hey guys I got a weird issue.. I have a datalist that's only loaded on pageload it contains 2 columns a name and date and has 398 rows.. In IE 7 and above(and prob previous version) when I open a modal via a button click it takes almost 5 seconds to open. HOWEVER, if I do not bind this datalist it's MUCH faster.. Also this is only happening in IE, Chrome, Firefox and opera both open the modal instantly with the datalist binded... Josh

  • Some little extra space is being added when a drop-down is on :focus

    My problem is that when I place :focus style for our dropdown lists like so: input, select { margin: 0; padding: 0; } select:focus { background: #FFC; } ...the dropdown with the focused selection suddenly has an extra spacing on all sides (1-2px spacing). See images below: It may seem unnoticable on the photos above but when you do a selection, the increase in padding/spacing cannot be missed. I already tried removing margin: 0, padding: 0, thinking that the :focus state might be reverting to the padded version but still the same. Has anybody encountered this problem? Only happens in Firefox.

  • Large static arrays are slowing down class load, need a better/faster lookup method

    I have a class with a couple static arrays: an int[] with 17,720 elements a string[] with 17,720 elements I noticed when I first access this class it takes almost 2 seconds to initialize, which causes a pause in the GUI that's accessing it. Specifically, it's a lookup for Unicode character names. The first array is an index into the second array. static readonly int[] NAME_INDEX = { 0x0000, 0x0001, 0x0005, 0x002C, 0x003B, ... static readonly string[] NAMES = { "Exclamation Mark", "Digit Three", "Semicolon", "Question Mark", ... The following code is how the arrays are used (given a character code). [Note: This code isn't a performance problem] int nameIndex = Array.BinarySearch<int>(NAME_INDEX, code); if (nameIndex > 0) { return NAMES[nameIndex]; } I guess I'm looking at other options on how to structure the data so that 1) The class is quickly loaded, and 2) I can quickly get the "name" for a given character code. Should I not be storing all these thousands of elements in static arrays?

    HI, I am making my own scroll bar. in which i made this code below i pasted. i am getting the issue from this code. i) in the first time i am pressing "#scroller" that works fine. ii) in case of second or other time when i am enter into "#scroller" itself, i am getting the alert "hi", instead of i am pressing the "#scroller", i know that i am doing some wrong this with my code, but i unable to find the mistake.   • View isn't scrolling back down after I dismiss the keyboard

    I have a Tab Bar app. One of the views has a UITextView that is hidden by the keyboard when touched. I've set the view to scroll to account for the keyboard but it the view doesn't always return to it's original position after I dismiss the keyboard.     Hi I have a simple script in HTML, using a dropdown menu. When the value 1 is selected, the user can write in the text field, if value 2 is selected, it disables the text field. However, i changed the values of the dropdown menu, so that one value was from a mysql table(using PHP) and the other remained 'option value='1''. Yet now neither text field is disabled.   • Does jquery live slow down websites?

    Hi I have a problem I am using jquery U.I tabs that load everything with ajax. Now I have it right now everytime you click on a tab a partial view is loaded up into that tab. Now in this partial view their are javascript files that use jquery to bind all the events that are needed in that tab plus some jquery plugins I am using. Now every time that tab is loaded up all those scripts are loaded up. If it is clicked 10 times then those scripts are loaded 10times up meaing now each of say my buttons will now have 10 of the same events on it mean if someone clicks on that button 10 events will all fire off to and do the same thing. So I need to find some solution to either move all the script out and have it on the main page and use jquery.live or some other solution. I tried to do use jquery caching for the U.I tabs but this won't work since some things in say Tab A when changed effect Tab B meaning I need Tab B to be reloaded but the scripts can't reload otherwise I run into the same problem as now.

  • Refactoring two methods down to one

    I have two methods that almost do the same thing. They get a List<XmlNode> based on state OR state and schoolType and then return a distinct, ordered IEnumerable<KeyValuePair<string,string>>. I know they can be refactored but I'm struggling to determine what type the parameter should be for the linq statement in the return of the method (the last line of each method).
