• Android ListView with Checkbox: automatically unchecks

  Hi, I've got a ListView with a custom BaseAdapter. The list items contain CheckBoxes that need to represent a property from a database. I use CheckBox.setOnCheckedChangeListener with a new OnCheckedChangeListener to detect changes, so I can change the database based on the current state of the CheckBox. Pretty straightforward stuff so far. However, when scrolling further down the list, previously checked CheckBoxes get unchecked. I suspect this happens as soon as the views are recycled (I'm using the convertView/ViewHolder technique). How can I stop this? What's going wrong? Thanks in advance. Edit: To make things a bit clearer, the problem is that recycling views somehow calls OnCheckedChangeListener#onCheckedChanged(buttonView, isChecked) with isChecked == false.

But i need some encrypted value which looks like my previous value. i have 3 kinds of variables to encrypt. those are String,numeric and Date type variables. My requirement is if i encrypt a date type, i need to get the cipher text looks like date. So can any one suggest with an example to impliment and encryption technique.

• Best aproach for multi-page WPF application

  How do i create multislide application in WPF? What is beast approach? What i need is something very similar to having tabcontrol with multiple pages and navigation buttons bellow, but i dont think that tab control is best for this task. I would like to have each view to be in seperate .xaml + class file. AND- it would be cool to have some animiation, when navigating to another page (like old page slides away or something like that. What would be best technique to achieve this?

• Is it possible to connect iPhones through NAT traversal techniques over 3G for peer 2 peer gaming

  Is it possible to connect an iPhone to another iPhone or any other network client talking that game's protocol. I was thinking that I could use the same NAT Traversal technique used in the XBox 360 to host games on users XBox's through Firewalls. For NAT traversal to work effectively I'd have to have a central server that would allow clients to "broadcast" that they were hosting so that another client could initiate the NAT connection. In the link provided this is called relaying. Is there any inherent limitation of the US AT&T 3G network that will block the NAT traversal techniques (would you be limited to wifi firewall NAT traversal)? • fast, clean, C, timsort implementation?

  Does anyone know of a clean implementation of timsort? The Python sources contain a description and code for the original timsort, but it is understandably full of python-specific calls. I have a smoothly varying 2D array of double floats that I would like to sort as quickly as possible. It ought to contain a lot of monotonically increasing and decreasing runs. I'd like to try timsorting the rows individually, and then merging the sorted rows. If you know of a better sort technique, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

  Background I am developing an application (with Spring MVC) with its base path as: http://localhost:8080/myapplication/ I have a stylesheet /css/style.css that I am trying to refer with absolute path in a JSP as: <link rel="stylesheet" href="/css/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen, projection"> Problem The stylesheet never loads in the browser. When I follow the stylesheet link through browser's view source feature, the link appears to be: http://localhost:8080/css/style.css Which should have had been: http://localhost:8080/myapplication/css/style.css I used to fix this issue with html:rewrite tag while working with Struts. Is there any equivalent tag/technique in Spring MVC? Thanks for your time.

• How to convert int to char in JSP expression language?

  I need to display incremented single characters to denote footnotes in a table of data in a JSP. In Java I would normally have a char variable and just increment it, or convert an int to a char by casting it (e.g. (char)(i + 97) to convert a 0-based index to a-z). I can't figure out how to do this in expression language short of writing my own JSTL function. Does anyone know how to convert an int to char in EL? Or how to increment a char variable in EL? Or possibly even a better technique to do what I'm trying to do in JSP/EL? Example of what I need to be able to produce: a mydata b myotherdata ... a first footnote b second footnote

  I'm refactoring a colleague's code, and I have several cases where he's using a cursor to get "the latest row that matches some predicate": His technique is to write the join as a cursor, order it by the date field descending, open the cursor, get the first row, and close the cursor. This requires calling a cursor for each row of the result set that drives this, which is costly for many rows. I'd prefer to be able to join, but what something cheaper than a correlated subquery: select a.id_shared_by_several_rows, a.foo from audit_trail a where a.entry_date = (select max(a.entry_date) from audit_trail b where b.id_shared_by_several_rows = a.id_shared_by_several_rows ); I'm guessing that since this is a common need, there's an Oracle analytic function that does this?

• Saving a datawindow as PDF in PB 10.5

  I have a grid datawindow with a picture in it's background (with dimensions of an A4 page) and I would like to export both data and the picture as a (single page) PDF file.   I am trying to start working with excel documents through the OpenXML SDK Spreadsheet API. But I havent found any good guides or even examples on how to create a xlsx file from scratch. Only how to open an existing document and modify it. I have been thinking on having a empty template document and make a copy of it an then begin my proccessing on it. But it doesent feel right. It might be easier but I not comfortable using a technique I dont feel that I understand "pretty" good atleast. • Is writing eSQL database agnostic?

  Using EF we can use LINQ to read data which is rather simple (especialy using fluent calls), but we have less control unless we write eSQL on our own. Is writing eSQL database actually data store independant code? So if we decide to change data store, can the same statements still be used? Is writing eSQL strings in your code pose any serious security threats similar to writing TSQL statements in plain strings? So we moved to SPs. Could we still mode eSQL scripts outside of code as well and use some other technique to make them a bit more secure?

  Hi, I'm working on a project for my A level. It involves finding the maximum flow of a network, and I'm using javascript. I have a 2D array, with values in the array representing a distance between the two points. An example of the array: 0 2 2 0 0 0 1 2 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 0 I think I need to use a recursive technique to find a path; below is some pseudocode, assuming that the array is 4x4. a is (0,0), b is (3,3). function search(a,b) from a to b if element(i,j) != 0 then store value of element search(j,3) I was wondering if that was the right construction for a depth first search. • Trying to force redraw of UITableViewCell

  I found this post on Beveled UITableViewCells from http://news.selectstartstudios.com/beveled-uitableviewcells/. I'm using the technique to reduce the width of the cells, and for the most part it works great. However, I have a small problem. Sometimes the cells are not redrawn properly. For example, even though a cell is supposed to be a "middle" cell, it is drawn as a "top" cell: yfrog.com/f1screenshot20100424at100 How can I fix this? I have tried forcing the cell to redraw via [cell setNeedsDisplay], [cell setNeedsLayout], [tableView reloadRowAtIndexPath:withAnimation:], [cell drawrect:], and [tableView drawRect:atIndexPath].   Hello, What is the best way to use the custom UI graphics on the iPhone? I've come across CGContextDrawPDFPage and Panic's Shrinkit. Should I be using storing my vector ui graphics as PDF's and loading them using CGContextDrawPDFPage to draw them. I did previously asked what way Apple store their UI graphics and was answered crushed png. The options as I see it, but I would really want to know what technique other people use. This question is for vector graphics only. Looking for what is standard / most effective / most efficient. If I replace the LIKE with something such as: SELECT col1, col2 FROM table1 t1 JOIN table2 t2 ON t1.cityid = t2.cityid where t1.cityname = ? order by t1.cityname It works fine. I do open/close the DB before after the above code. Is there a way to troubleshoot exactly why the database can't be opened and what its relationship to my LIKE syntax is?

• CMS Preventing Bad HTML Insertion by Client?

  I'm building a small CMS in PHP for a client and something I've noticed that comes up fairly often is a client will enter a bit of HTML in a field without closing his/her tag. I'm wondering if there is some parsing technique to prevent bad HTML from rendering my whole output page in italics because the user forgot to add a closing </i> tag. I'm not worried about XSS or malicious html, just a forgotten tag here and there as it's the client who is managing the content. Forgive me if this is a duplicate question, I did some searching, but could not find an appropriate answer. -J

• Transparent Proxy for IPv6 traffic under Linux

  When maintaining networks, it is often an expedient thing to do to run a transparent proxy. By transparent proxy I mean a proxy that 'hijacks' outgoing connections and runs them through a local service. Specifically I run a linux firewall with squid configured so that all tcp/ip connections fowarded on port 80 are proxied by squid. This is achived using the iptables 'nat' table, using IPv4. But iptables for IPv6 does not have a 'nat' table, so I cannot use the same implementation. What is a technique I can use to transparently proxy traffic for IPv6 connections? (this question has still not been answered adequately yet, a year on)

  I'm working on an OSGi-based application that uses org.osgi.service.http.HttpService which does not support the use of Servlet Filters. Before I realised that I wouldn't be able to use Servlet Filters I was planning to apply a couple of existing Filters. These Filters set the appropriate HTTP headers to: prevent caching of responses control rendering in IE8 with the X-UA-Compatible header What are my options here? I don't want to use meta elements to control caching since that technique is unreliable. Using a meta element to set the X-UA-Compatible header is probably acceptable, but I'd still be interested in alternative approaches.

• Generating a Call Hierarchy for dynamicly invoked method

  Hello, Today's world of dynamic invoke, reflection and runtime injection just doesn't play well with traditional tools such as ctags, doxygen and CDOC. I am searching for a method call hierarchy visualization tool that can display both static and dynamic method invocations. It should be easy to use, light during execution and provide helpful detailed information about the recorded runtime session. Now I guess Callgrind could be considered a valid solution for the family C. What tool / technique could you suggest to create a call graph for both static and dynamic method invocation for JVM based bytecode? The intended end result is a graphical display (preferably interactive) which can show path from main() to each method that was invoked. During research for this post I stumbled upon javashot, it seems that this is the kind of approach I'm aiming at, I would prefer that this would be integrated into a kind of profiler or alike which than can be used from within my IDE (Eclipse, IntelliJ, Netbeans and alike). • Large PHP enable web form - around 75 field - how best to send email with all fields?

  Have created simple Ajax enabled contact forms before that have around 12 fields - worked fine.... Now working on a PHP enabled web page for job applications that has around 100 fields. The ajax technique I was using was to send request via querystrings (&val1=test;&val2=test2 and etc ...) That is not going to scale very well with larger form with 100+ fields. • Printing an NSDocument

  I'm trying to print a document. The document is an array of NSImageReps, or a single NSPDFImageRep, which has multiple pages. I'm having trouble figuring out how to use the NSPrintOperation class to print this. The NSPrintOperation seems to need an NSView to print. Do I need to manually add each image into the view at a calculated position and then let it do the pagination? that seems like it isn't in the spirit of Cocoa... is there some technique that I'm missing?

I've read this faq about about returning arrays and tried the 'static' technique that is suggested there, but still could not get the program working. Could anyone point out exactly what's wrong with it and what should I be paying attention in the future?

• Lazy-loading flash objects

  I'm using the jQuery lazy-loading plugin to defer loading of below-the-fold images on a large web page. This works great. Now, I would like to apply the same technique to a large Flash object which is also below-the-fold. I don't think the lazy-load plugin handles things that aren't images (at least it doesn't look that way so far.) I may have to do it myself. In that case, how do I detect when the area containing the Flash object becomes visible?
