  EDIT: I've edited this post completely, so that the new description of my problem includes all the details and not only what I previously considered relevant. Maybe this new description will help to solve the problem I'm facing. I have two entity classes, Customer and CustomerGroup. The relation between customer and customer groups is ManyToMany. The customer groups are annotated in the following way in the Customer class. @Entity public class Customer { ... @ManyToMany(mappedBy = "customers", fetch = FetchType.LAZY) public Set<CustomerGroup> getCustomerGroups() { ... } ... public String getUuid() { return uuid; } ... } The customer reference in the customer groups class is annotated in the following way @Entity public class CustomerGroup { ... @ManyToMany public Set<Customer> getCustomers() { ... } ... public String getUuid() { return uuid; } ... } Note that both the CustomerGroup and Customer classes also have an UUID field. The UUID is a unique string (uniqueness is not forced in the datamodel, as you can see, it is handled as any other normal string). What I'm trying to do, is to fetch all customers which do not belong to any customer group OR the customer group is a "valid group". The validity of a customer group is defined with a list of valid UUIDs. Since a Customer can belong to multiple CustomerGroups, left joining the CustomerGroup will result in duplicated Customer objects. Hence the count(*) will give a false value, as it only counts how many results there are. I need to get the amount of unique customers and this I expected to achieve by using the Projections.countDistinct("uuid"); -projection. For some reason, as you can see, the projection will still result in a count(*) query instead of the expected count(distinct uuid). Replacing the projection countDistinct with just count("uuid") will result in the exactly same query. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? === "Problem" solved. Reason: PEBKAC (Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair). I had a branch in my code and didn't realize that the branch was executed. That branch used rowCount() instead of countDistinct().

• cascading combo box causing empty fields in next record

  Hi there, I'm having problems with a cascading combo box. Everything works fine with the combo boxes and the values get populated correctly. Everything works fine and dandy moving between records and the boxes show the correct fields for each record. When i use the first combo box, and then select the appropriate option in the second combo box, everything works great on the specific record. However when I move to the next record, the values in the second combo box are all empty. If i close the form and reopen it, and avoid using the cascading combo boxes all the values are all correct when i move between records. Somehow using the cascading combo boxes creates a conflict with the row source of the secondary combo box. Hope that is clear!   I have a sql server 2005 table called ZipCode, which has all the US ZIPs in it. For each entry, it lists the zip, county, city, state, and several other details. Some zipcodes span multiple cities and some even span multiple counties. As a result, some zipcodes appear many times in the table. I am trying to query the table to see which zipcodes go across multiple counties. This is what I have so far: select zipcode, count(zipcode) as total, county, state from zipcode group by zipcode, county, state order by zipcode Of 19248 records in the result set, here are the first several records returned: zipcode total county state 00501 2 SUFFOLK NY 00544 2 SUFFOLK NY 00801 3 SAINT THOMAS VI 00802 3 SAINT THOMAS VI 00803 3 SAINT THOMAS VI 00804 3 SAINT THOMAS VI 00805 1 SAINT THOMAS VI 00820 2 SAINT CROIX VI 00821 1 SAINT CROIX VI 00822 1 SAINT CROIX VI 00823 2 SAINT CROIX VI 00824 2 SAINT CROIX VI In this particular example, each zip with a total of two or more happens to be in the table more than once, and it's because the "cityaliasname" (not shown) or some other column differs. But I just want to know which zips are in there more than once because the county column differs. I searched before posting this and I found many questions about counting records but I could not figure out how to apply them to my problem. Please forgive me if there is already a question whose answer applies to this question.

  I'm using the ruby-graphviz gem and I'm trying to draw binary trees. I'd like to use the record shape so that each node can have a left, middle, and right field and, thus, if there are two edges leaving a node, the left and right edges can be distinguished. I tried specifying the field by concatenating the field name like this: @node1.name + ":left" But that did not work.   Hi, I am helping out my company with some old delphi 7 code. There is a record declared at the start that is used throughout to store all the data we want outputted. type TOutput_Type = record result: String; resultoffset: String; selected: boolean; resultcategory: integer; end; and then an array of this is declared Output: array of TOutput_Type; The length is set at the start to a large value, as actual length is unknown. This array is used all over the place, but unfortunately the value selected is not always set when used. My problem is I am adding in a summary of the data, but because selected is not set, delphi seems to give it a random true or false status. Is there a way of setting all instances of selected as true at the start? Seems like a simple enough thing to do, but I'm not a delphi programmer so am unsure if its possible? I know I can go through and add in selected := true every time a new record is made, but I'd like to do it cleanly at the start if possible.... Thanks in advance

• Displaying same record twice- SQL Reporting Services

  Ok, here's the situation: I need to display the same record in two different sections. stupid i know, but here's why. The Report I am building is grouped by one Field, called Day. Each record has date/times, an expected arrival date time, and an expected departure date/time. so, at this point we have something like this: Day..............Arrival Time..................Departure Time 18/5.............18/5 9.00am.........19/5 11.00am The boss only wants to show times that relate to the current day in the arrive/depart coloumns (easy enough with expressions), which ends up like this: Day..............Arrival Time..................Departure Time 18/5..............9.00am.........................- the next thing he wants is to display the departing time in the correct day 'group', but as you can imagine as soon as you move to the next row, well you move to the next row of the table. So the question is: is there anyway to display the same record on multiple coloumns? Have i missed something or have i got an unsolvable problem? NOTE: this is not the only data in my table either. there is (for example) a name coloumn which also needs to be displayed on both days.

  Let's say an Order has many Line items and we're storing the total cost of an order (based on the sum of prices on order lines) in the orders table. -------------- orders -------------- id ref total_cost -------------- -------------- lines -------------- id order_id price -------------- In a simple application, the order and line are created during the same step of the checkout process. So this means INSERT INTO orders .... -- Get ID of inserted order record INSERT into lines VALUES(null, order_id, ...), ... where we get the order ID after creating the order record. The problem I'm having is trying to figure out the best way to store the total cost of an order. I don't want to have to create an order create lines on an order calculate cost on order based on lines then update record created in 1. in orders table This would mean a nullable total_cost field on orders for starters... My solution thus far is to have an order_totals table with a 1:1 relationship to the orders table. But I think it's redundant. Ideally, since everything required to calculate total costs (lines on an order) is in the database, I would work out the value every time I need it, but this is very expensive. What are your thoughts?

• Migrating email forwarding entries from DirectAdmin to Google App (Free edition)

  I have a website hosted in a shared hosting account and it contains a DirectAdmin (DA) control panel. From there, I can see some email forwarding entries. I would like to migrate the email server to the Google App's, I am going to change the MX records to point to Google email server in the DA. For the existing email accounts that I see in the DA, I will re-create them in the Google App. But for those email forwarding entries, I am confused. If I keep them there, will they still work after I have changed the MX record pointing to the Google email server? If not, this means I will need to re-create them in the Google App, right? Unfortunately, Google App (Free edition) does not seem to allow email forwarding like those in DA. Unless I choose to use other editons (http://www.google.com/support/a/bin/answer.py?answer=175745). In DA, when I have created an email forwarding entry such as [email protected] - [email protected], I do not really need to create a dummy [email protected] email account and DA will still do the forwarding properly. The best I can do now, without upgrading the Google App edition, is to simply create dummy email accounts in the Google App and setup forwarding inside that email account, is this correct?

• Using 1and1.com Servers, SMTP Mail is Limited - Local XAMPP Server Works As Expected

  I'm starting to not like 1and1.com that much. I've used them for years, but mainly for simple sites without much need for configuration. I know there are better hosting companies out and I may go seeking them. The problem here is that on my Local XAMPP server (sitting on a network with Comcast ISP), I have a PHP script that uses PEAR::Mail to send mail using MIME. The script works find locally with either smtp.1and1.com and corresponding credentials and smtp.gmail.com with corresponding credentials, using appropriate ports, etc. 1and1 tells me that I have to change the MX record on the domain where this script runs in order to make this work. This doesn't make sense to me. Now I'm pretty new to all this, but how is it that this is the case? Why can my local server work just fine, out of the box, but their servers not? I have asked them these questions, but they are very vague and I cannot get any good answers from them. Versions: PEAR Version: 1.5.0 PHP Version: 4.4.9 Zend Engine Version: 1.3.0 My apologies in advance for my ignorance. Thanks for the help in advance.

• Video desktop recording and multiple WM displays, capturing nonactive display

  Two WM running on one local machine. WM - Fluxbox. Using ffmpeg to record desktop. ffmpeg -an -f x11grab -s 1920x1080 -r 25 -i :1.0 -sameq /tmp/video.mkv On one display everything works great, but not when i have another WM display startx -- :1. What i am doing right now is to switch ctrl+alt+f8 to display:1.0, and start recording with ffmpeg. Everything is fine until i switch back ctrl+alt+f7 to display:0.0, WM and captured video image freezes, but when i switch back ctrl+alt+f8 to display:1.0, it unfreeze and continue recording. So, how to make display:1.0 not to freeze, while on display:0.0? Tested some more. open [display 0.0] open [display 0.1] from [display 0.0] = open => [display 0.2] same problem For different users and same users results are the same. ffmpeg keeps recording that paused image. Looks like WM root window need to be active, to be recorded.

  Hi, I am trying to record a http web page using Jmeter 2.3.3 version.I has setup the JMeter proxy and tried, but did n't work. I have followed the below steps. 1. Launch jmeter 2.3.3, added thred group to test plan 2. Under Workbench-add-non-test elements- added HTTP proxy server. proxy server setting are port:9090, target:use recording controller, grouping:donot group samplers, Type:HTTp request and checked the boxes of all under http sampler settings 3.Saved the settings 4. Now in browser(IE 7.0 or firefox 3.0.16), under connection settings, setup the manual proxy settings as local host and port as 9090(no auto detect settings nothing, only manual proxy). Setting saved 5.Now in the jmeter, started the http proxy server. 6. Open a browser and hit the webpage needs to be tested. The page is not opened. In fact because of the changes made in browsers, no pages are opened. Whenever i try hitting a page, the pages are recorded in the Jmeter. but without the page open, how can i test. I looking for an immediate answer and my work is blocked. Immediate answer would be appreciated.

  I know from dnsmasq's man page that it is capable of handling mx records, but I can't seem to find anything in pfsense's web GUI or anywhere online that talks about how to include mx records. I'm running pfsense 2.0.1 on a turnkey hardware appliance. I have root shell access. I would prefer not to move away from using DNS Forwarder/dnsmasq if I can help it. I've searched for a dnsmasq.conf file, but none exists. pfsense handles everything through a centralized xml config file. That file merely designates the dnsmasq section using the tag, then drops immediate into listings for each host override you define. My understanding of pfsense's implementation: In the GUI, you can only define an override using the host, domain, IP and description. In the XML that translates to: <hosts> <host>foo</host> <domain>foo.com</domain> <ip>127.0.0.1</ip> <descr/> </hosts> The above example results in foo.foo.com resolving to 127.0.0.1, for instance. • Unable to record using Jmeter

  Hi, I am trying to record a http web page using Jmeter 2.3.3 version.I has setup the JMeter proxy and tried, but did n't work. I have followed the below steps. Launch jmeter 2.3.3, added thred group to test plan Under Workbench-add-non-test elements- added HTTP proxy server. proxy server setting are port:9090, target:use recording controller, grouping:donot group samplers, Type:HTTp request and checked the boxes of all under http sampler settings Saved the settings Now in browser(IE 7.0 or firefox 3.0.16), under connection settings, setup the manual proxy settings as local host and port as 9090(no auto detect settings nothing, only manual proxy). Setting saved Now in the jmeter, started the http proxy server. Open a browser and hit the webpage needs to be tested. The page is not opened. In fact because of the changes made in browsers, no pages are opened. Whenever i try hitting a page, the pages are recorded in the Jmeter. but without the page open, how can i test. I looking for an immediate answer and my work is blocked. Immediate answer would be appreciated.

• My Reverse DNS PTR record seems to be right, but I'm still getting bouncing email

  Hello, I have a service (statusme.com) where I let people know (for example) that their kid's soccer games are cancelled because of bad weather. We send out emails to the people who have registered. I have a second server as a backup, (vps.statusme.com) and I've set up the application to send some of the email through the second server. But I'm getting complaints from various recipient SMTP servers that the email is considered spam. So I did some investigating, and it appears that they think my reverse DNS record isn't correct. But when I look at it via various rDNS websites and instructions I found elsewhere on ServerFault, everything looks correct: jb$ host -t a vps.statusme.com 8.8.8.8 Using domain server: Name: 8.8.8.8 Address: 8.8.8.8#53 Aliases: vps.statusme.com has address 66.84.8.246 jb$ host -t ptr 246.8.84.66.in-addr.arpa 8.8.8.8 Using domain server: Name: 8.8.8.8 Address: 8.8.8.8#53 Aliases: 246.8.84.66.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer vps.statusme.com. • Mailgun Is Not Detecting My New MX Records

Type | Priority | Enter This Value | Current Value -----+----------+------------------+-------------------- MX | 10 | mxa.mailgun.org | 10 mail.example.com MX | 10 | mxb.mailgun.org | 10 mail.example.com I updated these records three to fours ago. I know it said to wait up to twenty-four to forty-eight hours. But I feel that if it detected the other DNS changes, then it should detect the MX record changes. Am I being impatient or is this a legitimate concern? What do you suggest I do? Note: I'd create a Mailgun tag for this; I feel that it'd be appropriate, but I don't have enough reputation to do so.

• XAMPP server giving 404 error when requested by ipv4 connection

  This is in reference to a previous question that I asked and was answered by womble. http://serverfault.com/a/406280/127729 So, now we have the real DNS records, we can do some diagnosis. dig for both A and AAAA on akosiboybastos.broker.freenet6.net gives a valid response, with an appropriate address. Good. dig for both A and AAAA on bastosforum.strangled.net gives the same responses (with a CNAME response thrown in). Also good. This means that the problem is not DNS-related, as those records are in order. wget -6 bastosforum.strangled.net/ gives a 200 OK response. wget -4 bastosforum.strangled.net/ gives a 404 Not Found response. This means that your webserver is misconfigured so that it's not serving the response you desire on IPv4. Given that the initial DNS problem asked in this question has been solved, I would recommend posting a new question with relevant webserver-related configuration, if you can't determine the configuration error yourself. I am using XAMPP(latest version) running phpbb3.0.10 via ipv6 tunnel from freenet6 and my domain is akosiboybastos.broker.freenet6.com, nothing fancy with the installation just out of the box install(with a few cosmetic mod). Both ipv4 and ipv6 traffic can connect using that url, but when I try to put a CNAME record on my test domain which is bastosforum.strangled.net pointing it to akosiboybastos.broker.freenet6.com only ipv6 can connect. As suggested by womble, this is a misconfigured webserver. To be honest I don't know where to start checking on the server as it is fully working if you use the domain given by freenet6 (akosiboybastos.broker.freenet6.com), any info on how to go about this server issue is welcome as i'm really a noob when it comes to computers. regards boyb

• Set document root for external subdomain (A Record) via htaccess

  I have a managed server (unable to control apache settings) with the default document root of: /var/www I have a web app running in: /var/www/subdomains/app/webroot I have a dedicated domain managed by the host that has the aforementioned webroot which works perfectly. I would like to allow externally provisioned domains to point to the server/web app via A Record config. If I access the site via IP, it takes me to the index located in /var/www. I would like to configure the .htaccess in my /var/www directory to rewrite requests from the external subdomain to the /var/www/subdomains/app/webroot directory. I've done so using the following rules: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} external\.domain\.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /var/www/subdomains/app/webroot/index.php?url=$1 [L,QSA] When accessing external.domain.com, the app loads properly, but the paths to things like CSS files, images, etc. are prefixed with "/subdomains/app/", causing broken links. I've tried changing the RewriteBase (both in /var/www and /var/www/subdomains/app/webroot), as I believe that's what it's designed for - but no luck. Any ideas? FYI the app is built on CakePHP.
