• Spring ResourceServlet throws too many open files exception in jetty and tomcat under linux

  I was running the petclinic example that was created with spring roo, also I test booking-mvc example that comes whit spring webflow 2.0.9 and the same happens, this is when I reload the main page many times. • Library to parse ERB files

  I am attempting to parse, not evaluate, rails ERB files in a Hpricot/Nokogiri type manner. The files I am attempting to parse contain HTML fragments intermixed with dynamic content generated using ERB (standard rails view files) I am looking for a library that will not only parse the surrounding content, much the way that Hpricot or Nokogiri will but will also treat the ERB symbols, <%, <%= etc, as though they were html/xml tags. Ideally I would get back a DOM like structure where the <%, <%= etc symbols would be included as their own node types. I know that it is possible to hack something together using regular expressions but I was looking for something a bit more reliable as I am developing a tool that I need to run on a very large view code base where both the html content and the erb content are important. For example, content such as: blah blah blah <divMy Great Text <%= my_dynamic_expression %</div Would return a tree structure like: root - text_node (blah blah blah) - element (div) - text_node (My Great Text ) - erb_node (<%=)

  Hey everyone, Is there a relatively simpler (when compared with writing a parser) way to evaluate boolean expressions in Java? I do not want to use the JEP library. I have a String expression something like: (x 4 || x < 8 && p 6) [ I will replace the variables with values. Is there a way by which I can evaluate this expression? • How do I insert into a unique key into a table?

  I want to insert data into a table where I don't know the next unique key that I need. I'm not sure how to format my INSERT query so that the value of the Key field is 1 greater than the maximum value for the key in the table. I know this is a hack, but I'm just running a quick test against a database and need to make sure I always send over a Unique key. Here's the SQL I have so far: INSERT INTO [CMS2000].[dbo].[aDataTypesTest] ([KeyFld] ,[Int1]) VALUES ((SELECT Max([KeyFld]) FROM [dbo].[aDataTypesTest]) + 1 ,1) which errors out with: Msg 1046, Level 15, State 1, Line 5 Subqueries are not allowed in this context. Only scalar expressions are allowed. I'm not able to modify the underlying database table. What do I need to do to ensure a unique insert in my INSERT SQL code?

• Using IIRF to redirect to a PDF

  I'm using IIRF to redirect certain URLs to specific PDF files. For instance, for the URL /newsletter/2010/02 I'd like it to redirect to /pdf/newsletters/Feb2010.pdf. I'm not too hot at regular expressions, but I created the following rule: RedirectRule ^/newsletter/2010/01 /pdf/newsletters/Newsletter012010.pdf [I,R=301] and it does redirect, but the address bar doesn't change, and when trying to save the file it wants to save as 01 instead of Feb2010.pdf. I don't presume my users will be savvy enough to enter a PDF extension before saving, and they shouldn't have to. Is there anything I can do about this?

  I want to create slug URL's from a users title in my system. If a user types "The best way's to get slim; period!", then I want the slug to be "the-best-ways-to-get-slim-period". Also, if someone has already created a page with that title I want the slug to be "the-best-ways-to-get-slim-period-1". My question is how can I check the database before a record is created? Ok, obviously I am going to have to perform a check in the database, and then a write. That's 2 queries. Is this the normal way to do it? Also, are there any conventional regular expressions for filtering non alpha/number characters and replacing spaces with hyphens? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

I am storing it into a variable and running it using exec. i.e. declare @dsql nvarchar(max) set @dsql = '' select @dsql = @dsql + dbo.getDynmicQuery(column1, column2) from Table1 exec(@dsql) Now it produces the many errors in this scenario, like 'Incorrect syntax near ','' and 'Case expressions may only be nested to level 10.' But if i take the text from @dsql and assign it a variable manually like: declare @dsql nvarchar(max) set @dsql = '' set @dsql = N'<Dynamic query text>' exec(@dsql) it runs and generates the result, what could be the reason for that ?? I also have an xpath-like expressions. var xml = <doc><node1><node2><node3>some value</node3></node2></node1></doc>; var path = "node1.node2.node3"; I need to verify if the above path into the XML is valid. I tried to do this using eval and E4X. var value = eval("xml."+path); However, my actual xml document has namespaces which are getting in the way. I do not know the namespaces ahead of time or care what they are. Is there a way to strip all the namespaces out ahead of time? Is there a better way to do this? Thanks!

  Hello all, Two things: Firstly - I have version 2 of a website located in a folder named v2, and I want to redirect any traffic that is NOT a child of the v2 folder, to www.example.com/v2 The old site located in the root was created in iWeb and has a LOT of subfolders and sub-subfolders. So: www.example.com/v2 = New site www.example.com/Page.html www.example.com/category/Page.html ww.example.com/category/subcategory/Page.html = All generic examples of what I need to redirect. Secondly, and I don't know if this is possible, I want to hide /v2/ in the URL, so that visitors will just see www.example.com/page even though they are actually on www.example.com/v2/page Links are hardcoded to the v2 folder, like so <a href="v2/contact.html" Any help is MOST appreciated. I've spent hours trying to figure this out, but I'm only just learning about htaccess and regular expressions, and am totally confused. Thanks so much!

• Facebook API - Get comments

  Our business has a Facebook Fan Page. The fan page doesn't seem to generate any emails to us when updates are made to the page, whether someone adds a new status or someone comments on one of the statuses etc. Currently, we are running a very crude script to grab the content of the page and then use regular expressions to get the information we require. Obviously this is not fool proof and I'm looking into alternatives to this method. I've been looking at the facebook API and wonder if the rest server might be an option. I cannot, however, seem to find out how to return information of fan page statuses and their comments. Is anyone able to direct me how to use the API to retrieve this information. I am an admin of the fan page. The programming language I'm using is PHP. Many thanks.

  I'm trying to strip content titles out of the middle of text strings. Could I use regex to strip everything out of this string except for the title (in italics) in these strings? Or is there a better way? Joe User wrote a blog post called The 10 Best Regex Expressions in the category Regex. Jane User wrote a blog post called Regex is Hard! in the category TechProblems. I've tried to come up with a regex expression to cover this, but I think it might need two. The trick is that the text in bold is always the same, so you could search for that, like this: regex: delete everything before and including wrote a blog post called regex: delete in the category and everything after it.

• How to improve my Python regex syntax?

  I very new to Python, and fairly new to regex. (I have no Perl experience.) I am able to use regular expressions in a way that works, but I'm not sure that my code is particularly Pythonic or consise. For example, If I wanted to read in a text file and print out text that appears directly between the words 'foo' and 'bar' in each line (presuming this occurred one or zero times a line) I would write the following: fileList = open(inFile, 'r') pattern = re.compile(r'(foo)(.*)(bar)') for line in fileList: result = pattern.search(line) if (result != None): print result.groups()[1] Is there a better way? The if is necessary to avoid calling groups() on None. But I suspect there is a more concise way to obtain the matching String when there is one, without throwing errors when there isn't. I'm not hoping for Perl-like unreadability. I just want to accomplish this common task in the commonest and simplest way.

  Given a string in the format: XXX999999v99 (where X is any alpha character and v is any numeric character and v is a literal v character) how can I get a regex to match the numeric characters following the v? So far I've got 'v\d\d' which includes the v but ideally I'd like just the numeric part. As an aside does anyone know of a tool in which you can specify a string to match and have the regex generated? Modifying an existing regex is one thing but I find starting from scratch painful! Edit: Re-reading this question I realise it reads like a homework assignment! However I can assure you it's not, the strings I'm trying to match represent product versions appended to product codes. The current code uses all sorts of substring expressions to retrieve the version part.

  I have the following string: <div id="mydiv">This is a "div" with quotation marks</div> I want to use regular expressions to return the following: <div id='mydiv'>This is a "div" with quotation marks</div> Notice how the id attribute in the div is now surrounded by apostrophes? How can I do this with a regular expression? Edit: I'm not looking for a magic bullet to handle every edge case in every situation. We should all be weary of using regex to parse HTML but, in this particular case and for my particular need, regex IS the solution...I just need a bit of help getting the right expression.

  Hi there, I need to apply validation on input time intervals that are taken in as seconds. Now i am not really good at Regular expressions. So can any body help making a regular expression that can test whether a number is divisible by 60. I was wondering if i could use to test one that check that the number is divisible by 10 and then check whether the same is divisible by 6.   Hi there, I've got a question about a Silverlight WCF Databinding pattern: There are many examples about how to bind data using {Binding} expressions in XAML, how to make async calls to a WCF service, set the DataContext property of a element in the UI, how to use ObservableCollections and INotifyPropertyChanged, INotifyCollectionChanged and so on. Background: I'm using the MVVM pattern, and have a Silverlight ItemsControl, whose ItemsSource is set to an ObservableCollection property on my ViewModel object. My view is of course the XAML which has the {Binding}. Say the model object is called 'Metric'. My ViewModel periodically makes calls to a WCF service that returns ObservableCollection. MetricInfo is the data transfer object (DTO). My question is two-fold: Is there any way to avoid copying each property of MetricInfo to the model class - Metric? When the WCF calls completes, is there any way to make sure I sync the items which are in both my local ObservableCollection and the result of the WCF call - without having to first clear out all the items in the local collection and then add all the ones from the WCF call result? thanks, Krishna

• Force jQuery to accept XHTML string as XML?

  So, as part of a baseline OpenID implementation in Javascript, I'm fetching a remote page source through AJAX, and looking for the <link rel="openid.server" href="http://www.example.com" /> tag in the head. I'm using the jQuery javascript library for the AJAX request, but am unable to parse out the link tags. Several other online sources talk about using the usual jQuery selectors to grab tags from XML/XHTML sources, but it seems jQuery can only get content from the body of an HTML document, not the head (which is where the link tags are; $(response).find('link') returns null). So, I'd either need to get jQuery to force this document into XML mode or otherwise get at the head tags. Is there a way to force jQuery to parse the response of an AJAX query as XML, when it's in reality XHTML? Or do I need to fall back to regular expressions to get the link tags out?

  I have some hierarchical data - each entry has an id and a (nullable) parent entry id. I want to retrieve all entries in the tree under a given entry. This is in a SQL Server 2005 database. I am querying it with LINQ to SQL in C# 3.5. LINQ to SQL does not support Common Table Expressions directly. My choices are to assemble the data in code with several LINQ queries, or to make a view on the database that surfaces a CTE. Which option (or another option) do you think will perform better when data volumes get large? Is SQL Server 2008's HierarchyId type supported in Linq to SQL?

Secondly, and I don't know if this is possible, I want to hide /v2/ in the URL, so that visitors will just see www.example.com/page even though they are actually on www.example.com/v2/page Links are hardcoded to the v2 folder, like so <a href="v2/contact.html" Any help is MOST appreciated. I've spent hours trying to figure this out, but I'm only just learning about htaccess and regular expressions, and am totally confused. Thanks so much!

  Hi! I would like to dynamically create XPath expressions in an XSL determined by data in an XML file. (i.e. the XML data is "concatenated" to create an XPath expression). Example of XML data: AAA BBB CCC Example of how I would like the XPath expression to look like: //AAA | //BBB | //CCC And this dynamic generation needs to be done in an XSL file. I am fairly new to XSL (and family) and would appreciate some general direction on how to tackle this problem. Thanks!
