  • Move Physical Windows Server 2008 into a Hyper-V VM

    Hello, I'd like to import a real Windows Server 2008 server as a Hyper-V Virtual Server on another Windows Server 2008 instance. Anyone have any idea how to do this? I'm looking at the System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 but it doesn't seem to import Windows Server 2008 - nor is it free. Is there some other workaround (i.e. import the image into VMWare first, then convert to Hyper-V)? Please help. Regards, Randall

They were sketching out a design and constantly talk of service provider, services and spring. Instead of looking silly by asking them, I just decided to post here. BTW, I am doing device driver development (have been for more than 10 years using C) and NEVER heard of service provider.

  • Faster integer division when denominator is known?

    hi I am working on GPU device which has very high division integer latency, several hundred cycles. I am looking to optimize divisions. All divisions by denominator which is in a set { 1,3,6,10 }, however numerator is a runtime positive value, roughly 32000 or less. due to memory constraints, lookup table is not option. Can you think of alternatives? I have thought of computing float point inverses, and using those to multiply numerator. Thanks

  • Logvat viewer in Eclipse flickers annoyingly

    In the logcat viewer in Eclipse, if it is set to filter messages coming from the application I am currently debugging, the list flickers annoyingly. My guess that it reloads the list every time a log message arrives from my device, even if it is not displayed because of the filter. However, it makes reading log messages very hard. Is there any way to counter this bug? Or is there an alternate logcat viewer for Android?

  • Choose variable based on users choice from picklist.

    I have this form. Basically what I want is to send a auto-response with a different URL based on what the user picks in the "attn" picklist. I've been thinking I could have a different variable for each drop down value. It will then pass this variable on to the mail script that will choose which URL to insert inside the auto response that is sent. It gives me a headache thinking about it sometimes. What's the easiest way to accomplish this? Am I making more work for myself? I really don't know because I'm no programmer. Thanks in advance! The basic problem is that the default values of my preferences are getting read fine on the simulator but are coming up NULL on the iPhone.   • WPF Storyboard works well, except for the first time it runs. Why?

    Hi, I'm doing a Surface Application. And there I have something like a bulletin board where little cards with news on it are pinned on. On click they shall fly out of the board and scale bigger. My storyboard works well, except for the first time it runs. It's not a smooth animation then but it scales to its final size immediately and it's the same with the orientation-property. Just the center-property seems to behave correctly.   • Is file transfer possible to iPhone 3.0 via Bluetooth or not?

    Is it possible to transfer files of a bluetooth device, lets say a digital pen (e.g. Nokia or Logitech io2) to the iPhone? I am interested if I could do a native application that could somehow get that binary file sent by the digital pen and do something with it. I am used to rfcomm and obex but I can only find inconclusive results when I search for that and the support in the iPhone SDK... Any ideas?

    Hi guys, My application tester has a problem while importing .mobileprovision file into iTunes. As I don't have the device I'm not able to check things out, here is the error message: The provisioning profile "embedded.mobileprovision" could not be imported because an unknown error occurred (0xE800801A).
