  • Stopping some sounds from dynamic classes, and exlude some others.

I know you could use SoundMixer.stopAll() to stop all sound, and some how exclude the bg music, IF everything is written in the same class. But what if the sounds are called from others dynamic classes? How could I target them and exclude the bg Music?

    I will be creating flatfiles and based on the data in the batch, it might be necessary to split the data into an undetermined number of files. I can make the connection string dynamic with an expression, but that is only evaluated when the package starts. I'd like to change that expression to include a '-a' or '-b' in the filename. Alternately, if I have to create new connection manager objects at run time on demand, how do I go about that?

  • Synergy 1.4.2 Linux server, OSX client, Media/Function key mapping issues

    I'm using an Apple bluetooth keybord to control my Linux synergy server. SSH tunneling, Mouse, Keyboard, and Copy&Paste all work. Linux sees all the media/app keys that are on top of the F# keys correctly. However if I press any of those keys while controlling my OSX client, nothing happens on the client. Running synergys with -d DEBUG1 I can see the following keycode info: Pressing the "dim monitor" key that also serves as F1 generates: new mask: 0x2000 event: KeyPress code=232, state=0x0010 new mask: 0x2000 If I press "fn" and the same key, I can see it sending what I'm assuming is an F1: event: KeyPress code=67, state=0x0010 onKeyDown id=61374 mask=0x2000 button=0x0043 send key down to "foo.cisco.com" id=61374, mask=0x2000, button=0x0043 new mask: 0x2000 event: KeyRelease code=67, state=0x0010 onKeyUp id=61374 mask=0x2000 button=0x0043 send key up to "foo.cisco.com" id=61374, mask=0x2000, button=0x0043 I'm guessing I need to tweak my synergy.conf so that the server sends keys that it currently isn't.   • What are some good, free tools to run automated security audits for PHP code?

    I've been looking for some time now and have come up short. The most promising I found was Spike PHP, which seems to no longer work. I'm looking to scan my code for potential risks of SQL Injection, XSS, etc. I've gone through most of my code manually, but with a few hundred thousand lines of code, I'm sure I missed things. If possible, are there any tools that can be downloaded and analyze code on my local machine rather than installing to the live server (this isn't a requirement if not)?

  • htaccess hacked - i've deleted code and file - what next?

    My website was hacked recently. I think i've found the code that was added to the htaccess file, deleted it and then added script to prevent the htaccess file being accessed again. I've also deleted the php file that the hacked code refers to (common.php). What do i need to do next? I'm not a programmer or website developer but i really wanted to see if i could fix the problem myself as i've spent quite a few hours trying and don't give up easily.   • Can you convert an address to a zip code in a spreadsheet?

    Given a column of street addresses with city and state but no zip in a spreadsheet, I'd like to put a formula in a second column that yields the ZIP code. Do you know a way to do this? I'm dealing with US addresses, but answers pertaining to other countries are interesting, too. UPDATE: I guess I'm mostly hoping that there's a way to do this in Google Spreadsheets. I realize that you need to access a vast ZIP code database to do this, but it seems to me that such a database is already inside Google Maps. If I put an address in there without ZIP code, I get back an address with ZIP code. If Maps can do that lookup, maybe there's a way to make it happen in Spreadsheets, too.

  • How I can compile this C++ code that fails with "'::main' must return 'int'"? [migrated]

    I have tried to find a solution that make batch file start flashing on taskbar and only good solution was this post on Stack Overflow. But I can't compile the code with WinGW or anything else to EXE, only getting this error: hello.cpp:6:32: error: '::main' must return 'int' Right now, I'm using TDM-GCC to compile code, because it's bit better... Can somebody give me code that actually works or even better compile it to EXE already? P.S. Even more better if somebody could compile this Delphi code, because I can't find any software that's free.

  • What&rsquo;s wrong with See[Mike]Code? (no relation)

    I have been hearing a lot about the website See[Mike]Code. Basically, the site creates an interview url and a job candidate url and lets you see the potential programmer’s code (specifically .NET developer). Below is the candidate’s URL   Below is the interviewer url   So you might think, ah, this is a good thing. We can screen candidates cheaper and more efficiently. In reality, this is only a good thing if you want your programmer to develop using notepad.  I use the most efficient tools that exist to do my job. I would simply fire up VS2010 and type “for” and hit the tab key twice and get the following template.   I have no problem keeping MSDN/Google in one of my monitors. I spend time learning VS macros and using Aurora XAML/Expression to produce my XAML for WPF. Sure, I can write a for loop without using the VS Macro, but the real question is, “Why should I?”. My point being, if you really want to test a .NET programmer knowledge then fire up his native working environment and let him use the features of the IDE to develop the simple 10-line program. For a more sophisticated program, then give him 20 minutes and allow access to msdn/google. If the programmer cannot find at the right path then give him the boot.

    Next Tuesday I will be at the CMAP main meeting presenting Teach Your Kid to Code. Next Tuesday is of course Election Day so you have to make sure you vote early in order to get over to CMAP for the 7:00PM presentation. I will be co-presenting this talk with my 5th grade son. Here is the abstract: Have you ever wanted a way to teach your kid to code? For that matter, have you ever wanted to simply be able to explain to your kid what you do for a living? Putting things in a context that a kid can understand is not as easy as it sounds. If you are someone curious about these concepts, this is a “can’t miss” presentation that will be co-presented by Justin Michelotti (5th grader) and his father. Bring your kid with you to CMAP for this fun and educational session. We will show tools you may not have been aware of like SmallBasic and Kodu – we’ll even throw in a little Visual Studio and Windows 8! Concepts such as variables, conditionals, loops, and functions will be covered while we introduce object oriented concepts without any of the confusing words. Kids are not required for entry!   • Can I re-license Academic Free License code under 2-Clause BSD / ITC?

    I want to fork a piece of code licensed under the Academic Free License. For the project, it would be preferable to re-license it under the ISC License or the 2-Clause BSD license, which are equivalent. I understand that the AFL grants me things such as limitation of liability, but licensing consistency is much more important to the project, especially since we're talking about just 800 lines of code, a quarter of which I've modified in some way. And it's very important for me to give these changes back to the community, given the fact that this is software relevant to security - I need the public scrutiny that I'll get by creating a public fork. In short: At the top of the file I want to say this, or something like it: # Licensed under the Academic Free License, version 3 # Copyright (C) 2009 Original Author # Licensed under the ISC License # Copyright (C) 2012 Stefano Palazzo # Copyright (C) 2012 Company Am I allowed to do this? My research so far indicates that it's not clear whether the AFL is GPL-Compatible, and I can't really understand any of the stuff concerning re-licensing to other permissive licenses. As a stop gap, I would also be okay with re-licensing under the GPL, however: I can find no consensus (though I can find disagreement) on whether this is allowed at all, and I don't want to risk it, of course.
