jqGrid: sort by index

I am having trouble getting a column to sort by an index other than the 'name' value. In this case I am trying to sort the aggregation type column (values are days of the week) by the week order, rather than alphanumeric order. To do this I added an index column ('Aggregation type-index') that has the days of week an integers. However with this configuration, it fails to sort that column by index or name. Can someone point me the err in my ways? I posted all the js and css that is on the page, because I am also having two other issues, that if you notice the problem great, otherwise I'll keep hunting. I want to be able to enable the column reodering and be able to resize the grid (Both shown at http://trirand.com/blog/jqgrid/jqgrid.html under the new in 3.6 tab). How to fix an endpoint/configuration error using WCF in VB.NET

I'm working with a small web page that is meant to assist the users of my application. This web page takes a file and sends it to a central server, which then does something with the data and returns a result. I created this application some time ago and am coming back to it recently. I am getting some kind of configuration error right now, although this application used to work. When it stopped working, whenever I ran the page and sent the data to the central server, I would get this error: "Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'CentralService.ICwCentralService' in the ServiceModel client configuration section. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no endpoint element matching this contract could be found in the client element." Looking at some other issues on the net, I thought I might have had the answer. The service reference to the endpoint was contained in a separate project from the code that called it, but the configuration file in that project had no information about the endpoint. The strange thing is, though, I took those entries from another project that contacts the central server. That application has no problems contacting the central server using these settings. It's not a web page application, but I don't see how that would require these settings to change. I cannot tell what started causing these errors or when. I assume its something that changed outside of the application (e.g. the libraries referenced) that requires an update to the configuration in the application. I am currently using .NET 3.0 for all of my applications. Any help would be appreciated.

Using Xlib via JNA to move a window

I'm using JNA to manipulate application windows on Linux by sending Xlib messages but can't seem to move a window. My original implementation executed wmctrl on the shell to move the windows and that successfully moved the windows. Unfortunately, there's a noticeable amount of overhead associated with calling shell programs from Java, so now I'm trying to make direct API calls using JNA. I'm using the X11 example available from the JNA website and can successfully do a few tricks, such as enumerating the window IDs and reading window properties, so I know JNA+Xlib is at least partially working. First I tried moving the windows directly using XMoveWindow() but the window manager was apparently blocking those calls. I ran across a thread that suggested I needed to send a client message using XSendMessage(), so I've done that below, but apparently XSendMessage() is failing because the window doesn't move and I get a return value of 0. I'm guessing I omitted something obvious, but can't quite figure it out. Any suggestions? Note that, for the purposes of this example, the main method has a window ID hard-coded. I have to traverse a matrix and say how many "characteristic areas" of each type it has. A characteristic area is defined as a zone where elements of value n or n are adjacent. Example map-reduce oozie program not working on CDH 4.5

I am using Hadoop (CDH 4.5) on my mac since some time now, and do run map reduce jobs regularly. I installed oozie recently (again, CDH4.5) following instructions at: http://archive.cloudera.com/cdh4/cdh/4/oozie-3.3.2-cdh4.5.0/DG_QuickStart.html, and tried to run sample programs provided. However, it always fails with the following error. Looks like the workflow is not getting run at all. The Console URL field in the Job info is also empty. Could someone please help on this? How to group using XSLT

I'm having trouble grouping a set of nodes. I've found an article that does work with grouping and i have tested it and it works on a small test stylesheet i have I now need to use it in my stylesheet where I only want to select node sets that have a specific value. What I want to do in my stylesheet is select all users who have a userlevel of 2 then to group them by the volunteer region. What happens at the minute is that it gets the right amount of users with userlevel 2 but doesn't print them. Functions registered with ExternalInterface.addCallback not available in Javascript

I'm working on a Flash game that needs to call some Javascript on the page and get data back from it. Calling Javascript from Flash works. Calling the Flash functions from Javascript (often) doesn't. I'm using the Gaia framework. What happens: The swf is loaded in with SWFObject There's a button in the Flash file. On click, it uses ExternalInterface.call() to call a Javascript function. This works. The Javascript function calls a Flash function that was exposed with ExternalInterface.addCallback(). Sometimes, the Javascript produces the following error: TypeError: myFlash.testCallback is not a function. When the error happens, it affects all functions registered with addCallback(). Gaia and some of its included libraries use addCallback(), and calling those functions from Javascript also produces the TypeError. Waiting a long time before pressing the button in Flash doesn't solve the error. Having Flash re-try addCallback() periodically doesn't solve the error When the error occurs, ExternalInterface.available = true and ExternalInterface.objectID contains the correct name for the Flash embed object. When the error occurs, document.getElementById('myflashcontent') correctly returns the Flash embed object. Using DateTime in a SqlParameter for Stored Procedure, format error

I'm trying to call a stored procedure (on a SQL 2005 server) from C#, .NET 2.0 using DateTime as a value to a SqlParameter. The SQL type in the stored procedure is 'datetime'. Executing the sproc from SQL Management Studio works fine. But everytime I call it from C# I get an error about the date format. When I run SQL Profiler to watch the calls, I then copy paste the exec call to see whats going on. These are my observations and notes about what I've attempted: 1) If I pass the DateTime in directly as a DateTime or converted to SqlDateTime, the field is surrounding by a PAIR of single quotes, such as @Date_Of_Birth=N''1/8/2009 8:06:17 PM'' 2) If I pass the DateTime in as a string, I only get the single quotes 3) Using SqlDateTime.ToSqlString() does not result in a UTC formatted datetime string (even after converting to universal time) 4) Using DateTime.ToString() does not result in a UTC formatted datetime string. 5) Manually setting the DbType for the SqlParameter to DateTime does not change the above observations. So, my questions then, is how on earth do I get C# to pass the properly formatted time in the SqlParameter? Surely this is a common use case, why is it so difficult to get working? Update and Success First and foremost, thank you everyone for the answers. I post this for the sake of completeness and accuracy on SO - because I certainly do not do it for my pride... I had copy/pasted the code above after the request from below. I trimmed things here and there to be concise. Turns out my problem was in the code I left out, which I'm sure any one of you would have spotted in an instant. I had wrapped my sproc calls inside a transaction. Turns out that I was simply not doing transaction.Commit()!!!!! I'm ashamed to say it, but there you have it. I still don't know what's going on with the syntax I get back from the profiler. A coworker watched with his own instance of the profiler from his computer, and it returned proper syntax. Watching the very SAME executions from my profiler showed the incorrect syntax. It acted as a red-herring, making me believe there was a query syntax problem instead of the much more simple and true answer, which was that I need to commit the transaction! I marked an answer below as correct, and threw in some up-votes on others because they did, after all, answer the question, even if they didn't fix my specific (brain lapse) issue. How to get selected values from a dynamically created DropDownList Array after PostBack (Button Click)

I have a CheckBoxList that contains Employee Names on a Wizard Step. When employees are selected and the active step is changed, the Wizard1_ActiveStepChanged function is called and it dynamically creates a DropDownList Array for each employee that is selected. Each DropDownList specifies a condition of the employee. The DropDownList is created properly. When the user clicks submit, the DropDownList array is deleted and no selected values can be pulled from the array. I understand this is an issue with the PostBack and can be fixed with ViewState, but I am trying to figure out what I can do to fix it. ViewState is enabled for the checkboxlist and the DropDownList. Basically I'm wondering how I'm able to do what I've written in the topic. I've looked through many tutorials on AsyncTask but I can't get it to work. I have a little form (EditText) that will take what the user inputs there and make it to a url query for the application to lookup and then display the results. What I think would seem to work is something like this: In my main activity i have a string called responseBody. Then the user clicks on the search button it will go to my search function and from there call the GrabUrl method with the url which will start the asyncdata and when that process is finished the onPostExecute method will use the function activity.this.setResponseBody(content). How can you connect OpenGrok to a SVN repository?

I was able to install and use opengrok on WinXP using this blog entry http://theflashesofinsight.wordpress.com/2009/05/11/install-opengrok-on-windows/ I now want to index a subversion repository. I checked out a repository to the source folder and can search the files. However the links for history and annotate are not active. I have svn installed and indexing the directory give no warnings or errors. (There was an error when I didnt have the SVN client installed) Is there some configuration needed? I saw this link http://blogs.sun.com/trond/entry/using_subversion_with_opengrok but it did not give me any clue. jQuery DatePicker - 'fake' click on page load

Hey! I've got a quick question about the jQuery UI DatePicker. When I load the page, defaultDate: 0 will work fine with selecting the current day's date. I would like to create a 'fake' click on the date so it will execute my JavaScript function and retrieve information from the database. With Eclipselink/JPA, can I have a Foreign Composite Key that shares a field with a Primary Composit

My database has two entities; Company and Person. A Company can have many People, but a Person must have only one Company. The table structure looks as follows. COMPANY ---------- owner PK comp_id PK c_name PERSON ---------------- owner PK, FK1 personid PK comp_id FK1 p_fname p_sname It has occurred to me that I could remove PERSON.OWNER and derive it through the foreign key; however, I can't make this change without affecting legacy code. I have modeled these as JPA-annotated classes; @Entity @Table(name = "PERSON") @IdClass(PersonPK.class) public class Person implements Serializable { @Id private String owner; @Id private String personid; @ManyToOne @JoinColumns( {@JoinColumn(name = "owner", referencedColumnName = "OWNER", insertable = false, updatable = false), @JoinColumn(name = "comp_id", referencedColumnName = "COMP_ID", insertable = true, updatable = true)}) private Company company; private String p_fname; private String p_sname; ...and standard getters/setters... } @Entity @Table(name = "COMPANY") @IdClass(CompanyPK.class) public class Company implements Serializable { @Id private String owner; @Id private String comp_id; private String c_name; @OneToMany(mappedBy = "company", cascade=CascadeType.ALL) private List people; ...and standard getters/setters... } My PersonPK and CompanyPK classes are nothing special, they just serve as a struct holding owner and the ID field, and override hashCode and equals(o). So far so good. I come across a problem, however, when trying to deal with associations. It seems if I have an existing Company, and create a Person, and associate to the Person to the Company and persist the company, the association is not saved when the Person is inserted. For example, my main code looks like this: EntityManager em = emf.createEntityManager(); em.getTransaction().begin(); CompanyPK companyPK = new CompanyPK(); companyPK.owner="USA"; companyPK.comp_id="1102F3"; Company company = em.find(Company.class, companyPK); Person person = new Person(); person.setOwner("USA"); person.setPersonid("5116628123"); //some number that doesn't exist yet person.setP_fname("Hannah"); person.setP_sname("Montana"); person.setCompany(company); em.persist(person); This completes without error; however in the database I find that the Person record was inserted with a null in the COMP_ID field. With EclipseLink debug logging set to FINE, the SQL query is shown as: INSERT INTO PERSON (PERSONID,OWNER,P_SNAME,P_FNAME) VALUES (?,?,?,?) bind = [5116628123,USA,Montana,Hannah,] I would have expected this to be saved, and the query to be equivalent to INSERT INTO PERSON (PERSONID,OWNER,COMP_ID,P_SNAME,P_FNAME) VALUES (?,?,?,?,?) bind = [5116628123,USA,1102F3,Montana,Hannah,] What gives? Is it incorrect to say updatable/insertable=true for one half of a composite key and =false for the other half? If I have updatable/insertable=true for both parts of the foreign key, then Eclipselink fails to startup saying that I can not use the column twice without having one set to readonly by specifying these options.

Hello all. I am using JavaMail to do a simple application that sends an email when it finds some files in a directory. I managed to get it worked from Eclipse. I Run the application and it sent the email with no errors. But, when I created the jar, and executed it, it fails in the email sending part. I don't know very much about the possible results or changes when creating a jar. Could the JavaMail libraries someway go wrong when the jar is created? Do you have any ideas? The table are innodb and I tried to drop all tables and recreate it the problem remains... EDIT : Well I think I have a start of answer... I change the log level of hibernate to DEBUG and before it crash I have the following log insert into Semspace (name, [...]) values (?, [...]) So it looks like it does not try to insert the idCorpus and as it is not null it uses the default value "0" which does not refers to an existing entry in Corpus table...

Why will my AdRotator not display images? (Image paths are correct)

Hi. I'm writing a simple web application in C# and I've gotten to the part where I must add an AdRotator object and link four images to it. I have done this, but no matter what I do the images will not show up; only the alternate text. It makes no sense because the paths are correct. Supposedly AdRotator controls are really simple to use... But anyway below is my code. Run javascript after form submission in update panel?

This is driving me crazy! I have read at least 5 questions on here closely related to my problem, and probably 5 or so more pages just from googling. I just don't get it. I am trying to have a jqueryui dialog come up after a user fills out a form saying 'registration submitted' and then redirecting to another page, but I cannot for the life of me get any javascript to work, not even a single alert. Putting that same code in a script tag inside the updatePanel. Tried to use RegisterClientScriptBlock and RegisterStartUpScript Just doing a Response.Write with the script tag written in it. Tried various combinations of putting the entire jquery.dialog code in the registerstartup script, or just trying to change the autoOpen property, or just calling "open" on it. I can't even get a simple alert to work with any of these, so I am doing something wrong but I just don't know what it is. Here is what I know: The Jquery is binding properly even on async postbacks, because the div container that is the dialog box is always invisible, I saw a similiar post on here stating that was causing an issue, this isn't the case here. Using page_load instead of document.ready since that is supposed to run on both async and normal postbacks, so that isn't the issue. The update panel is updating correctly because <p>Did register Pass? <%= registrationComplete %></p> updates to true after I submit the form. So how can I make this work? All I want is - click submit button inside an update panel - run server side code to validate form and insert into db - if everything succeeded, have that jquery (modal) dialog pop up saying hey it worked.

WPF: Focus in a Window and UserControl

I'm trying to get a UserControl to tab properly and am baffled. The logical tree looks like this. |-Window -Grid -TabControl -TabItem -StackPanel -MyUserControl |-StackPanel -GroupBox -Grid -ComboBox -Textbox1 -Textbox2 Everything works fine, except when the visibility converter for the ComboBox returns Visibility.Collapsed (don't allow user to change database mode), then when textbox1 is selected, instead of being able to tab through the controls in the UserControl, the focus shifts to a button declared at the bottom of the window. Nothing else apart from the controls displayed has TabIndex or FocusManager properties set. I'm banging my head against a brick wall and I must be missing something. Marking multi-level nested forms as "dirty" in Rails

I have a three-level multi-nested form in Rails. The setup is like this: Projects have many Milestones, and Milestones have many Notes. The goal is to have everything editable within the page with JavaScript, where we can add multiple new Milestones to a Project within the page, and add new Notes to new and existing Milestones. Everything works as expected, except that when I add new notes to an existing Milestone (new Milestones work fine when adding notes to them), the new notes won't save unless I edit any of the fields that actually belong to the Milestone to mark the form "dirty"/edited. Is there a way to flag the Milestone so that the new Notes that have been added will save? Hi, ive been dealing with this for some time now and need your help. well I have an array $arrayAmenities which contains a combination of the following data based on what is fetched from the database: Air Conditioned Bar Brunch Party Room Tea Room Terrace Valet I would like the application to dynamically check the following set of checkboxes based on the data contained in the array. With my code only one checkbox is checked based on the first data contained in the array. Can you please tell what Im missing? XSL-FO: Force Wrap on Table Entries

I'm having an issue where when I publish my modspecs to pdf (XSL-FO). My tables are having issues, where the content of a cell will overflow its column into the next one. How do I force a break on the text so that a new line is created instead? I can't manually insert zero-space characters since the table entries are programmatically entered. Unfortunately, the side effect is that normal text elsewhere (like in a under sextion X) now breaks up words so that they appear on seperate lines. Implementing a popularity algorithm in Django

I am creating a site similar to reddit and hacker news that has a database of links and votes. I am implementing hacker news' popularity algorithm and things are going pretty swimmingly until it comes to actually gathering up these links and displaying them. The algorithm is simple: Y Combinator's Hacker News: Popularity = (p - 1) / (t + 2)^1.5` Votes divided by age factor. Where` p : votes (points) from users. t : time since submission in hours. p is subtracted by 1 to negate submitter's vote. Age factor is (time since submission in hours plus two) to the power of 1.5.factor is (time since submission in hours plus two) to the power of 1.5. I asked a very similar question over yonder http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1964395/complex-ordering-in-django but instead of contemplating my options I choose one and tried to make it work because that's how I did it with PHP/MySQL but I now know Django does things a lot differently. An answer from that question seems to think I should put the algorithm in the select and sort then. I am going to paginate these results so I don't think I can do the sorting in python without grabbing everything. Any suggestions on how I could efficiently do this? Not sure why my links_link.id wouldn't be in my group by but I am not sure how to alter my group by, django usually does that.
