  • SQL Server 2008 database Backup

    Hi guys, today I was trying to restore a database with a backup I had made previously on another computer, however I kept getting the following error message: the media loaded on "filepath" is formatted to support 2 media families, but 1 media families are expected according to the device specification I didn't look into it at the time, I just figured it was a bad backup and I'd redo it when I got home. So now I'm trying to do another backup, and I'm getting the above error message for that too. I did backup to a different location at one point, however that no longer exists now. Is there a way i can get passed this error and just do a fresh backup of the database? any pointers would be much appreciated :)

  • Configuring memcached for a particular scenario

    I have a web application which queries opentsdb server(which in backend using Hbase cluster) for the datapoints of different metrics and using dygraph javascript graphing library, I am plotting those metrics. Since getting all the datapoints of past one day from opentsdb for a particular metric is itself taking nearly 2 seconds, my application which is plotting nearly 25 metrics is becoming very slow. In order to reduce this latency, I am thinking of using memcached module of php5 for caching all the queries. But I have few questions regarding memcached. Is there any way I can configure memcache to keep on updating its cache in the background by running some command line queries after particular interval of time. Is there any way I can configure memcache to always reply for a query using cache instead of first updating its cache because my application just plots datapoints for past one day. Missing out some datapoints is not that critical.

    I have a single page website built on bootstrap 3, that I am trying to move to Google Apps Engine. I Scaffold my sites using php, and all the content is showing but not the styles and javascript. My site is basically set up as follows _/js/bootstrap.js _/js/custom.js _/fonts/glypicon ...etc _/css/bootstrap.css _/css/custom.css _/php/ .. all my php files go here ... index.php can someone help me setup my app.yaml for this? I am new to GAE, and am a little confused by this.

  • Does Google Tv (NSZ-GS7) work with HTPC?

    I was wondering if my Google Tv will seamlessly work with my HTPC. I'm running Windows Media Center using a InfiniTv quad tuner with a cable card. I'm able to connect my GTV with my HTPC and be able to see the GTV interface overlaid on top of media center. Unfortunately, I'm not really able to use the Tv/Movies App to look at live shows and change the channel. I have the Video device setup as Media Center PC, but then the Live Tv App doesn't work. If I change to my tv service provider (Verizon FIOS), the Live Tv App works, but then it won't be able to change the channel.

  • backing up ntfs disk using rsync on ubuntu

    For a long time I was using windows. I have a separate drive I use to keep copies of my media files, photos etc. on, which I periodically backup to an external drive. In Windows I used SyncToy to do this. After my Windows stopped booting, I decided to switch to Linux (Ubuntu 10.10). That seems to be going fine, but now I want to backup my drive to the external drive like before. Mostly the two drives will be already the same with maybe about 10GB of extra files added. So I try to use rsync to synchronise the two drives like this: rsync --dry-run -rvlt --modify-window=1 /media/Antonio1TB/Backup /media/FREECOM\ HDD/Backup The problem is the dry run indicates that every file on the drive will be copied. Not just the files I have recently added. What is the correct command to synch two NTFS drives under Ubuntu so that files that already exist don't get copied again? Thanks.

  • Linux virtual disk stripping or multi-path samba share?

    I am trying to build a file storage box for media. It needs to span two or more directories or partitions as one share. There are a few solutions but reasons why I want to avoid them, among these are: Using LVM2 for stripping. I don't really have the resources to back up everything on the volumes incase one HDD goes south. I would end up loosing everything. Maybe there is a better option for this to prevent data loss with hot swappable drives or some kind of raid. Using symbolic links in the share. This will get tedious every time a new sub-directory is added. Is there some kind of software raid I can use to merge two directories virtually? I am aware of the issue where /dev/hda1/media/file.1 and /dev/hdb1/media/file.1 both exist. But I'm sure there are some creative solutions for this.

  • How to make MySQL utilize available system resources, or find "the real problem"?

    This is a MySQL 5.0.26 server, running on SuSE Enterprise 10. This may be a Serverfault question. The web user interface that uses these particular queries (below) is showing sometimes 30+, even up to 120+ seconds at the worst, to generate the pages involved. On development, when the queries are run alone, they take up to 20 seconds on the first run (with no query cache enabled) but anywhere from 2 to 7 seconds after that - I assume because the tables and indexes involved have been placed into ram. From what I can tell, the longest load times are caused by Read/Update Locking. These are MyISAM tables. So it looks like a long update comes in, followed by a couple 7 second queries, and they're just adding up. And I'm fine with that explanation. What I'm not fine with is that MySQL doesn't appear to be utilizing the hardware it's on, and while the bottleneck seems to be the database, I can't understand why. I would say "throw more hardware at it", but we did and it doesn't appear to have changed the situation. Viewing a 'top' during the slowest times never shows much cpu or memory utilization by mysqld, as if the server is having no trouble at all - but then, why are the queries taking so long? How can I make MySQL use the crap out of this hardware, or find out what I'm doing wrong? Extra Details: On the "Memory Health" tab in the MySQL Administrator (for Windows), the Key Buffer is less than 1/8th used - so all the indexes should be in RAM. I can provide a screen shot of any graphs that might help. So desperate to fix this issue. Suffice it to say, there is legacy code "generating" these queries, and they're pretty much stuck the way they are. I have tried every combination of Indexes on the tables involved, but any suggestions are welcome.   • jquery animation problem using stop

    Hi! When running a Jquery animation like slideDown(), it looks like a number of element-specific css properties is set to be updated at a specific interval and when the animation is complete these properties are unset and the display property is simply set to auto or whatever. At least in firebug you can't see those temporary properties any more. The problem I've encountered is the scenario where we stop the slide down with stop(). The element is then left with the current temporary css values. Which is fine because it has to, but let us say that I stoped the slidedown because I have decided to slide it back up again a bit prematurely. It would look something like this: $(this).slideDown(2000) //The below events is not in queue but will rather start execute almost simultaneously as the above line. (dont remember the exact syntax) $(this).delay(1000).stop().slideUp(2000) The above code might not make much sense, but the point is: After 1 second of sliding down the animation is stopped and it starts to slide back up. Works like a charm. BUT!!! And here is the problem. Once it it has slid back up the elements css properties are reset to the exact values it had 1000ms into the slideDown() animation (when stop() was called). If we now try to run the following: $(this).slideDown(2000) It will slide down to the very point the prior slideDown was aborted and not further at half the speed (since it uses the same time for approximately half the height). This is because the css properties were saved as I see it. But it is not especially wished for. Of course I want it to slide all the way down this time. Due to UI interaction that is hard to predict everything might soon break. The longer animations we use increases the risk of something like this happening. Is this to be considered a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Or maybe it's just a feature that is not supported? I guess I can use a callback function to reset the css properties, but depending on the animation used, different css properties are used to render it, and covering your back would result in quite a not-so-fancy solution.

  • Move 2TB Win7x64 to 640GB HDD

    Basically I just got a new (refurbished) HP H8-1260t to use for Windows Media Center. The shipping drive is a 2TB Hitachi drive, but I have an older and barely used 640GB WD Caviar Blue 7200RPM drive I would like to move my Windows install to. I have about 750GB of data with over 1TB free left on the drive. Having googled my heart and fingers out, I would think that I can shrink my partition down to the size it is full at now with over 1TB free for a second partition where I can move my media files to further shrink my boot partition so that I can fit a system image smaller than 640GB on that WD drive. I want to have a separate drive for Media and TV Recordings from my boot disk. Does this sound like the easiest method for me? Or am I doing this all wrong. Help appreciated.

  • Github + keep file but dont track changes

    I have a codeigniter framework thats using github. Within this application I have several files that i will want to have in the repo but not track any changes on.. Example is: i deploy a new installation of this framework to a new client, i want the following files to be downloaded (they have default values 'CHANGEME') and i just have to make changes specific to this client IE(database credentials, email address info, custom css styling). // the production config files i want the files but they need to be updated to specific client needs application/config/production/config.php application/config/production/database.php application/config/production/tank_auth.php // index page, defines the environment (production|development) /index.php // all of the css/js cache (keep the folder but not the contents) /assets/cache/* // production user based styling (color, fonts etc) needs to be updated specific to client needs /assets/frontend/css/user/frontend-user.css currently if i run git clone [email protected]:user123/myRepo.git httpdocs and then i edit the files above, all is great.. until i release a hotfix or patch and run git pull. All of my changes are then overwritten.

    I need to dynamically load a CSS stylesheet into a page that's on a different domain. How can I get the complete URL of the JS file to use in the href attribute of the stylesheet? For instance, here is the structure: http://bla.com/js/script.js http://bla.com/css/style.css I want to dynamically load the stylesheet into a page http://boo.net/index.html. The problem is, I don't know the bla.com bit in advance, just the fact that the stylesheet is in ../css/ relative to the JS file. The script is, of course, included on index.html. jQuery's fine too.

  • best way to access/create SITE_ROOT and SERVER_ROOT values in PHP?

    I need 2 different paths, one for includes and one for js/css etc. I'm using mod_rewrite. The below works fine.... Currently all my files contain this at the top define('SERVER_ROOT', 'C:/wamp/www/site_folder/'); define('SITE_ROOT', 'http://localhost/site_folder/'); and then files are called like so: require_once SERVER_ROOT . 'st_wd_assets/inc/func_st_wd.php'; <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="<?php echo SITE_ROOT;?>st_pages/user_area/css/user_area.css" media="screen"/> as you can probably see, it's going to be a massive chore to update the top of every file everytime i move versions between the localhost and my live server. What's the best/standard way of defining these ROOT values? I can't see a solution in the $_SERVER super global? Do people normally just use VirtualHosts? But then wouldn't it still be necessary to define ROOT constants?

    Hello, Is it possible to get the size of an element after resizing it using $(el).css()? My code is: function resize() { $(".combobox").css('width', '100%'); var width = $(".combobox").width(); } I've get the real value of the combobox only after calling the function a second time. The first time is gets the width before executing $(".combobox").css('width', '100%'); I suppose this is fault of the DOM not being recreated after the .css(). Is there any way to force DOM reloading? Thanks in advance!

  • NFS default to 777

    I have an NFS share. This share is shared between several different applications. Our web server is running PHP and when it creates directories it is not setting the permissions correctly so it cannot write to the directory once created. How can I mount this NFS share to where PHP has full read/write access? Below is the directory that has been created along with the media server export options and the mount options on the web server. Ideally I could set the permissions on /opt/mount and whatever group/user is on that directory when I mount to that point the share assumes those permissions. dr----x--t. 2 nobody nobody 4096 Jun 5 2014 user_2 Mount output: media.dc1:/home/fs_share on /opt/mount type nfs (rw,vers=4,addr=10.10.20.127,clientaddr=10.10.20.42) Exports file from media server: /home/fs_share 10.10.20.0/255.255.255.0(rw,sync,no_root_squash)

    Hi all! jQuery.ready() allows us to wait for the construction of the webpage. Recently it has been added support to wait until CSS files are loaded. I would like to know if that feature can be used for downloaded content, because I fetch content via $.ajax() that holds CSS references and I would like to retrieve the content of the CSS before working with the retrieved content. Fetch with $.ajax() the html. -- Wait until all CSS is downloaded. Show to fetched content (already css'ed). Thank you very much for your help.

  • how to filter selected objects then hide objects not selected.

I have tried this: $(function() { var notSelected = $('div').filter(selected).attr('id', 'name'); $(this).hide(); console.log(notSelected); }); placed just above: $('li.listMenu ul').hide(); but it's not correct, remember I am really a newbie. what I see on screen is the new selected items on top of what should be hidden. again any help is appreciated. -sjs
