• Deploying axis2 on glassfish

  I'm trying to deploy Axis2 v1.6.2 war on Glassfish v3.1.2 and I'm having some problems... I need to develop a few web services and since the main app is beeing served on Glassfish I was hoping to deploy axis2 on it so I could test it. I used Glassfish administration pages to deploy a war downloaded from an apache site, but after pointing the application deployment form to this war I'm getting Error and this is the (long) stack • I have a very long and repetitive python path, where do I look to correct this?

  I know it is probably not necessary to paste the whole path, but just for the record I have done so below. Whenever I run a python command, it takes a long time to load this path I suppose.   This is driving the whole team crazy. There must be some simple mis-configured part of IIS or our Web Server, but every time we try to run out ASP.NET Web Application on IIS 7.5 we get the following error... Here's the error in full: HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid. `Detailed Error Information` Module IIS Web Core Notification Unknown Handler Not yet determined Error Code 0x8007000d Config Error Config File \\?\E:\wwwroot\web.config Requested URL http://localhost:80/Default.aspx Physical Path Logon Method Not yet determined Logon User Not yet determined Config Source -1: 0: The machine is running Windows Server 2008 R2. We're developing our Web Application using Visual Studio 2008. According to Microsoft the code 8007000d means there's a syntax error in our web.config -- except the project builds and runs fine locally. Looking at the web.config in XML Notepad doesn't bring up any syntax errors, either. I'm assuming it must be some sort of poor configuration on my part...? Does anyone know where I might find further information about the error? Nothing is showing in EventViewer, either :( Not sure what else would be helpful to mention... I literally have to delete <httpHandlers> (and the lines inbetween) to stop getting the above error. Once I've done this I get a new 500.19 error, however. Obviously I think these new errors have just arisen from me deleting the <httpHandlers> tags in the first place -- they're obviously needed by the application -- so the question remains: Why would these tags kick up an error in IIS in the first place??? I've downloaded the latest version of the Silverlight Maps Control and added the references to my application. As a matter of fact, the VS 2010 design view of the MainPage.xaml shows the map control after adding the namespace and placing the control. I'm using the provided VS 2010 Express version that comes with the Win Mobile 7 SDK and have just used the New Project - Windows Phone Application template. Any thoughts? I have re installed glassfish and NetBeans but it all seems the same. I think this started happening after I had to force-restart my computer with NetBeans stil open and the app deployed, but it's hard to know for sure if this was the real catalyst. Any thoughts or help is appreciated thanks. Is it an app error? if so why no errors in the log are shown?

  Hi there, I have setup PostSharp and it appears to be working but i don't get it entering OnExit (i have logged setup to ensure it is working) ... Its a bit tricky to configure with asp.net - or is it just me ... I am using the 1.5 new version I basically have the following in my web.config and i had to add the SearchPath otherwise it can't find my assemblies <postsharp directory="C:\Program Files\PostSharp 1.5" trace="true"> <parameters> <!--<add name="parameter-name" value="parameter-value"/>--> </parameters> <searchPath> <!-- Always add the binary folder to the search path. --> <add name="bin" value="~\bin"/> </searchPath> </postsharp> I have set tracing on but what is strange to me is that it appears to build to the temp directory, maybe this is my issue, i am unsure .. hence i do F5 ... Is it possible to name the Output directory and output file?? As you can see it is editing a DLL in the temp dir so IIS is no longer in control so it doesn't execute it ??? • Setting up a "cookieless domain" to improve site performance

  I was reading in Google's documentation about improving site speed. One of their recommendations is serving static content (images, css, js, etc.) from a "cookieless domain": Static content, such as images, JS and CSS files, don't need to be accompanied by cookies, as there is no user interaction with these resources. You can decrease request latency by serving static resources from a domain that doesn't serve cookies. Google then says that the best way to do this is to buy a new domain and set it to point to your current one: To reserve a cookieless domain for serving static content, register a new domain name and configure your DNS database with a CNAME record that points the new domain to your existing domain A record. Configure your web server to serve static resources from the new domain, and do not allow any cookies to be set anywhere on this domain. In your web pages, reference the domain name in the URLs for the static resources. This is pretty straight forward stuff, except for the bit where it says to "configure your web server to serve static resources from the new domain, and do not allow any cookies to be set anywhere on this domain". From what I've read, there's no setting in IIS that allows you to say "serve static resources", so how do I prevent ASP.NET from setting cookies on this new domain? At present, even if I'm just requesting a .jpg from the new domain, it sets a cookie on my browser, even though our application's cookies are set to our old domain. For example, ASP.NET sets an ".ASPXANONYMOUS" cookie that (as far as I'm aware) we're not telling it to do. Apologies if this is a real newb question, I'm new at this! Thanks.

Regex part I authored this problem separateThousands for personal practice: Given a number as a string, introduce commas to separate thousands. The number may contain an optional minus sign, and an optional decimal part. There will not be any superfluous leading zeroes. Here's my solution: String separateThousands(String s) { return s.replaceAll( String.format("(?:%s)|(?:%s)", "(?<=\\G\\d{3})(?=\\d)", "(?<=^-?\\d{1,3})(?=(?:\\d{3})+(?!\\d))" ), "," ); } The way it works is that it classifies two types of commas, the first, and the rest. In the above regex, the rest subpattern actually appears before the first. A match will always be zero-length, which will be replaceAll with ",". The rest basically looks behind to see if there was a match followed by 3 digits, and looks ahead to see if there's a digit. It's some sort of a chain reaction mechanism triggered by the previous match. The first basically looks behind for ^ anchor, followed by an optional minus sign, and between 1 to 3 digits. The rest of the string from that point must match triplets of digits, followed by a nondigit (which could either be $ or \.). My question for this part is: Can this regex be simplified? Can it be optimized further? Ordering rest before first is deliberate, since first is only needed once No capturing group Unit testing part As I've mentioned, I'm the author of this problem, so I'm also the one responsible for coming up with testcases for them. • Visual Studio Express 2012 debug mode doesn't work

  I have a project in Visual Studio that I have been working on for a while, and I have used the debugger extensively. Recently I changed some settings and I have lost the ability to stop the program and step through code. I can't figure out what I had changed that might have affected this. If I put a breakpoint in my code and try to have the program stop there, it doesn't. The break point shows up white with a red outline. If I hover the mouse over it, it says "The breakpoint will not currently be hit. No executable code of the debugger's target code type is associated with this line. Possible causes include: conditional compilation, compiler optimizations, or the target architecture of this line is not supported by the current debugger code type." I know for a fact that the program executes the code where the breakpoint is because I put the breakpoint in the beginning of the InitializeComponent method. The program displays the window fine, but does not stop at the breakpoint. Yes, I am running in debug mode. It seems as though there is a disconnect between the compiled code and the source code displayed. Does anyone know what that would be, or know which compiler settings I should check to re-enable debugging?   I would like to know if there is a Facebook API call to retrieve the events (eids) for all the events a user has created using my facebook connect application. '&access_token=' . $cookie['access_token'] $e_i is the event info array where the 'host' value is set to 'Me' as follows $event_info['host'] = 'Me'; On Facebook events under the "Created by:" section it lists "My user name,Application Name", I presume this is because I am the creator and the application is the admin as stated in the REST api documentation http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/rest/events.create/ Unfortunately I cannot seem to find out how (neither REST nor GPRAPH API) to return a list of events where I am the creator and the application is the admin as in the above scenario. If this is possible I would really appreciate some assistance with how it is done. So far I have tried: REST API events.get using uid=application_id. I have an image inside a repeater, and I would like to change its IMAGEURL based on parameter that's being passed to it. <asp:Repeater ID="Repeater" runat="server"> <HeaderTemplate> <asp:Image ID="imgType" runat="server" /> </HeaderTemplate> <ItemTemplate> <%# Eval("DisplayName")%> </ItemTemplate> <SeparatorTemplate> <hr /> </SeparatorTemplate> </asp:Repeater> There is a SWITCH statement in the code behind that is altering the IMAGEURL depending on what's being passed to it. Inevitably, however, the images ID ("imgType") is not visible to the SWITCH statement (presumably because it's inside a REPEATER). Any suggestions on the best way to implement this would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for such a newbie question. Thanks!

• Scriptaculous problem in IE

  Hi there. We've got this very annoying problem with Scriptaculous and Internet Explorer 7/8. We have two Effect.toggles on the same page, but only one of them is ever working (the first one). I hope it's some simple mistake in my implementation, but I can't seem to find any decent documentation. Hopefully somebody here can help.   So I switched to using RestKit 0.2 and CoreData and I've been having a lot of trouble trying to get the mappings correct... I don't understand why. • Alternative to 'Dispatch for ASP' deployment plug-in?

  Hi there, we've recently stumbled across the excellent Dispatch for ASP deployment plug in. It looks great apart from one thing: It doesn't work with Visual Studio 2010, at least for us, anyway. (It's supposed to work fine.) (Yes, we've tried everything: We've managed to get Dispatch working for another FTP site, but not the main one we regularly deploy to. We have managed to connect to our main site through FileZilla FTP, so the site itself is configured correctly. All settings have been triple checked, but the software still throws up weird errors (always to do with its internal libraries).) So does anyone know of any other comparable FTP-based, deployment plug-ins for Visual Studio? Here's what Dispatch does (and so any suggested replacement must do): Monitor any altered files in the project. When a file is changed, it's added to a list of files to be deployed. To deploy these files to the live site, all we need to do is click "Upload" and the plugin will connect via FTP to our live site and upload all the files. We can filter out any filenames we don't want to be monitored/uploaded (e.g. .cs or web.config or /Images/, etc.) I think that's all the features that we need. Thanks for any suggestions!

• Google Web Optimizer -- How long until winning combination?

  I've had an A/B Test running in Google Web Optimizer for six weeks now, and there's still no end in sight. Google is still saying: "We have not gathered enough data yet to show any significant results. When we collect more data we should be able to show you a winning combination." Is there any way of telling how close Google is to making up its mind? (Does anyone know what algorithm does it use to decide if there's been any "high confidence winners"?) According to the Google help documentation: Sometimes we simply need more data to be able to reach a level of high confidence. A tested combination typically needs around 200 conversions for us to judge its performance with certainty. But all of our conversions have over 200 conversations at the moment: 230 / 4061 (Original) 223 / 3937 (Variation 1) 205 / 3984 (Variation 2) 205 / 4007 (Variation 3) How much longer is it going to have to run??   I just ran Google's Page Speed application against our site and one of the recommendations was to Leverage browser caching. Expanding this revealed the following: The following cacheable resources have a short freshness lifetime: Specify an expiration at least one week in the future for the following resources: <a long list of images > <some javascript files > How do I go about lengthening the "freshness lifetime" of particular images? It's an ASP.NET project running on IIS7.5 Thanks for any help!

• Stopping cookies being set from a domain (aka "cookieless domain") to increase site performance

  I was reading in Google's documentation about improving site speed. One of their recommendations is serving static content (images, css, js, etc.) from a "cookieless domain": Static content, such as images, JS and CSS files, don't need to be accompanied by cookies, as there is no user interaction with these resources. You can decrease request latency by serving static resources from a domain that doesn't serve cookies. Google then says that the best way to do this is to buy a new domain and set it to point to your current one: To reserve a cookieless domain for serving static content, register a new domain name and configure your DNS database with a CNAME record that points the new domain to your existing domain A record. Configure your web server to serve static resources from the new domain, and do not allow any cookies to be set anywhere on this domain. In your web pages, reference the domain name in the URLs for the static resources. This is pretty straight forward stuff, except for the bit where it says to "configure your web server to serve static resources from the new domain, and do not allow any cookies to be set anywhere on this domain". From what I've read, there's no setting in IIS that allows you to say "serve static resources", so how do I prevent ASP.NET from setting cookies on this new domain? At present, even if I'm just requesting a .jpg from the new domain, it sets a cookie on my browser, even though our application's cookies are set to our old domain. For example, ASP.NET sets an ".ASPXANONYMOUS" cookie that (as far as I'm aware) we're not telling it to do. Apologies if this is a real newb question, I'm new at this! Thanks.

• Is it possible to serve an ASPX page without it setting a cookie on your browser?

  Hi, we're in the process of trying to speed up the performance of our website by serving static content from a cookieless domain. That seems to be going well, but I have a new question: I know that it's "static content" that we're talking about when serving it from a cookieless domain, but we also have static content being served by ASPX pages, specifically images. For example: domain.com/resizeImages.aspx?src=images/image123.jpg&width=400&height=400 Pretty standard stuff, and although it's being served by managed code, it's still a static image. So my question is: Is it ok to serve the resizeImages.aspx image from our cookieless/static domain? And if so, how do I go about stopping ASP.NET from setting a ANONYMOUSASPX cookie every time I try? When I was deploying the rest api as a new web site in iis, then things worked fine. I was using the following Route api/{controller}/{id}. When I created the rest api as a web application underneath asp.net web site project, I named the web application as api. I can't access the api methods now. Can someone point what I do wrong?
