  • Interpret Objective C scripts at runtime on iPhone?

    Is there anyway to load an objective c script at runtime, and run it against the classes/methods/objects/functions in the current iPhone app? The reason i ask is that I've been playing around with iPhone wax, a lua interpreter that can be embedded in an iPhone app, and it works very nicely, in the sense that any object/method/function that's publically available in your Objective C code is automatically bridged, and available in lua. This allows you to rapidly prototype applications by simply making the core of your app be lua files that are in the users documents directory. Just reload the app, and you can test out changes to your lua files without needing to rebuild the app in XCode - a big time saver! But, with Apples recent 3.1.3 SDK stuff, it got me thinking that the safest approach for doing this type of rapid prototypeing would be if you could use Objective C as the interpreted code... That way, worst case scenario, you could just compile it into your app before your release, instead. I have heard that the lua source can be compiled to byte code, and linked in at build time, but I think the ultimate safe thing would be if the scripted source was in objective c, not lua. This leads me to wondering (i've searched, but come up with nothing) if there are any examples on how to embed an Objective C Interpreter in an iPhone app? This would allow you to rapidly prototype your app against the current classes that are built into your binary, and, when your about to deploy your app, instead of running the classes through the in app interpreter, you compile them in instead.

    Im am trying to get MSDeploy to execute a PowerShell script on a remote server.   • MemoryStream and BitmapSource

    I have a MemoryStream of 10K which was created from a bitmap of 2MB and compressed using JPEG. Since MemoryStream can’t directly be placed in System.Windows.Controls.Image for the GUI, I am using the following intermediate code to convert this back to BitmapImage and eventually System.Windows.Controls.Image. System.Windows.Controls.Image image = new System.Windows.Controls.Image(); BitmapImage imageSource = new BitmapImage(); s.SlideInformation.Thumbnail.Seek(0, SeekOrigin.Begin); imageSource.BeginInit(); imageSource.CacheOption = BitmapCacheOption.OnDemand; imageSource.CreateOptions = BitmapCreateOptions.DelayCreation; imageSource.StreamSource = s.SlideInformation.Thumbnail; imageSource.EndInit(); imageSource.Freeze(); image.Source = imageSource; ret = image.Source; My question is, when I store this in BitmapImage, the memory allocation is taking around 2MB. Is this expected? Is there any way to reduce the memory? I have around 300 thumbnails and this converstion takes around 600MB, which is very high. Appreciate your help!

  • Calling C# object method from IronPython

    I'm trying to embed a scripting engine in my game. Since I'm writing it in C#, I figured IronPython would be a great fit, but the examples I've been able to find all focus on calling IronPython methods in C# instead of C# methods in IronPython scripts. To complicate things, I'm using Visual Studio 2010 RC1 on Windows 7 64 bit. IronRuby works like I expect it would, but I'm not very familiar with Ruby or Python syntax. What I'm doing: ScriptEngine engine = Python.CreateEngine(); ScriptScope scope = engine.CreateScope(); //Test class with a method that prints to the screen. scope.SetVariable("test", this); ScriptSource source = engine.CreateScriptSourceFromString("test.SayHello()", Microsoft.Scripting.SourceCodeKind.Statements); source.Execute(scope); This generates an error, "'TestClass' object has no attribute 'SayHello'" This exact set up works fine with IronRuby though using "self.test.SayHello()" I'm wary using IronRuby though because it doesn't appear as mature as IronPython. If it's close enough, I might go with that though. Any ideas? I know this has to be something simple.

  • C# Can I return HttpWebResponse result to iframe - Uses Digest authentication

    I am trying to figure out a way to display a cross-domain web page that uses Digest Authentication. My initial thought was to make a web request and return the entire page source. I currently have no issues with authenticating and getting a response but I am not sure how to properly return the needed data. // Create a request for the URL. WebRequest request = WebRequest.Create("http://some-url/cgi/image.php?type=live"); // Set the credentials. request.Credentials = new NetworkCredential(username, password); // Get the response. HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse(); // Get the stream containing content returned by the server. Stream dataStream = response.GetResponseStream(); // Open the stream using a StreamReader for easy access. StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(dataStream); // Read the content. string responseFromServer = reader.ReadToEnd(); // Clean up the streams and the response. reader.Close(); dataStream.Close(); response.Close(); return responseFromServer; My problems are currently... responseFromServer is not returning the entire source of the page. I.E. missing body and head tags The data is encoded improperly in responseFromServer. I believe this has something to do with the transfer encoding being of the type chunked. Further more... I am not entirely sure if this is even possible. If it matters, this is being done in ASP.NET MVC 4 C#. Thanks, Chad

  • Gomoku array-based AI-algorithm?

    Way way back (think 20+ years) I encountered a Gomoku game source code in a magazine that I typed in for my computer and had a lot of fun with. The game was difficult to win against, but the core algorithm for the computer AI was really simply and didn't account for a lot of code. I wonder if anyone knows this algorithm and has some links to some source or theory about it. The things I remember was that it basically allocated an array that covered the entire board. Then, whenever I, or it, placed a piece, it would add a number of weights to all locations on the board that the piece would possibly impact. For instance (note that the weights are definitely wrong as I don't remember those): 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 444 1234X4321 3 3 3 2 2 2 1 1 1 Then it simply scanned the array for an open location with the lowest or highest value. Things I'm fuzzy on: Perhaps it had two arrays, one for me and one for itself and there was a min/max weighting? There might've been more to the algorithm, but at its core it was basically an array and weighted numbers Does this ring a bell with anyone at all? Anyone got anything that would help?

    I'm still learning the WPF ropes, so if the following question is trivial or my approach wrong-headed, please do speak up... I'm trying to reduce boilerplate and it sounds like styles are a common way to do so. In particular: I've got a bunch of fairly mundane data-entry fields. The controls for these fields have various properties I'd like to set based on the target of the binding - pretty normal stuff. However, I'd also like to set properties of the binding itself in the style to avoid repetitiveness. For example: <TextBox Style="{StaticResource myStyle}"> <TextBox.Text> <Binding Path="..." Source="..." ValidatesOnDataErrors="True" ValidatesOnExceptions="True" UpdateSourceTrigger="PropertyChanged"> </Binding> </TextBox.Text> </TextBox> Now, is there any way to use styling - or some other technique to write the previous example somewhat like this: <TextBox Style="{StaticResource myStyle}" Text="{Binding Source=... Path=...}/> That is, is there any way to set all bindings that match a particular selection (here, on controls with the myStyle style) to validate data and to use a particular update trigger? Is it possible to template or style bindings themselves? Clearly, the second syntax is much, much shorter and more readable, and I'd love to be able to get rid of other similar boilerplate to keep my UI code comprehensible to myself :-).

    Hey there! Here's my question: I've got a Datagrid in WPF and I have a first column that is a DataGridComboBoxColumn. What I'd like to do is to have a header for that column also with a combobox: altering the header with propagate throughout the column. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing? I'm guessing it's the way I affect each row, but I've tried SelectedValue, SelectedItem and SelectedIndex... all to no avail. Thanks in advance...

  • Build 32-bit with 64-bit llvm-gcc

    I have a 64-bit version of llvm-gcc, but I want to be able to build both 32-bit and 64-bit binaries. Is there a flag for this? I tried passing -m32 (which works on the regular gcc), but I get an error message like this: [jay@andesite]$ llvm-gcc -m32 test.c -o test Warning: Generation of 64-bit code for a 32-bit processor requested.   • Silverlight MergedDictionary - Attribute Value out of Range

    Hello All, I have a Silverlight-3 solution that contains a few different projects. I want to have one "common" project for holding controls and resources that will be used by multiple other projects. Within the common project, there is a folder called Resources, which holds a ResourceDictionary (CommonColors.xaml). This is set to be built as a Resource, Do Not Copy. I add a reference to the common project in another project (call it UncommonControls), and attempt to add the ResourceDictionary as a MergedDictionary: <UserControl.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="/Common;component/Resources/CommonColors.xaml" /> <ResourceDictionary Source="/UncommonControls;component/Resources/UncommonStyles.xaml" /> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> </UserControl.Resources> When I try to run, I get an exception: Attribute /Common;component/Resources/CommonColors.xaml value is out of range. [Line: 14 Position: 44] --- Inner Exception --- The given key was not present in the dictionary. However, if I reference a ResourceDictionary local to Uncommon (such as the UncommonStyles.xaml, above) project, which is set up with the same Build properties, it works fine. I haven't seen anything that says SL3 can't reference an external ResourceDictionary (on the contrary, I've seen an example of using one, albeit with no downloadable project to verify the behavior).   • Combobox with collection view itemssource does not update selection box item on changes to the Model

    Hello, Sorry for the earlier lengthy post. Here is my concise (!) description. I bind a collection view to a combobox as a itemsSource and also bind its selectedvalue with a property from my view model. I must keep IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="False". I change the source list ofr the view and then refresh the view. The changed (added, removed, edited) items appear correctly in the item list of the combo. But problem is with the selected item. When I change its property which is also the displaymember path of the combo, the changed property value does not reflect back on the selecton box of the combo. If you open the combo dropdown it appears correctly on the item list but not on the selection box. Now if I change the combobox tag to Listbox in my XAML (keeping all attributes as it is) then when selected item's displaymember property value is updated, the changes reflect back on the selected item of the list box . Why this issue? Just FYI: My View Model has properties EmployeeCollectionView and SelectedEmployeeId which are bound to combo as ItemsSource and SelectedValue resp. This VM implements the INotifyPropertyChanged interface. My core employee class (list of which is the source for the EmployeeCollectionView) is simply a Model class without INotifyPropertyChanged. DisplayMemberPath is "Name" property of employee Model class. I change this by some means and expect the combo selection box to update the value. I tried refreshing ther SelectedEmployeeId by setting it 0 (where it correctly selects the dummy "-- Select All --" employee entry from itemsSource) and old selected value back. But no use. The old value takes me back to the old label. Items collection has latest entry though. When I make combobox's IsEditable=True before the view's refresh and after refresh I make IsEditable=False then the things work out correctly! But this is a patch and is unnecessary.     I find that FusionCharts v3 evaluation and HighCharts cannot be used for commercial purpose. Google charts is the best option but those are not as good looking as any of the above. They don't even have 3d charts although their visualization API does support 3D which i cannot find. Is there any open source graphing or charting solution available which can be used in commercial products? I even looked in to Open Flash Charts 2 but found that the developer had left the project long time a go and the currently out libs are way too buggy. I had to fix more than 50 bugs to get their 1 chart working. I tried to fix others but couldn't get Pie charts etc. working. What i'm looking for is - 1. Attractive 3d column chart. 2. 3d Pie Chart. 3. Spline Chart. 4. Geographical Chart. Does anyone knows any open source or free solution which can be used for commercial products? Cheers!

  • problem with radgrid in pageindexchange event

    Hi, I Have radgrid in my page. When i turn off view state and in pageindexchanged event when click next page i am getting nothing. Simply a blank page. But when i turn on view state I am getting data in next pages. Is there any way to get the data. I cant turn on the view state due to performance issue.   • SSRS for Sharepoint, Images in a report from a Sharepoint List URL?

    Greetings Sabios, I have several reports I run successfully where the data comes from a Sharepoint list in the form of an XML dataset. I am however having trouble with one. I have a report that pulls an image file onto the main body of the report. This data too comes from a Sharepoint list in the form of an XML dataset which sends me the URL to the jpeg or bmp or gif... whatever the case may be. I can successfully pull this off in my own Visual Studio IDE. My Local Report Server will render it as well It won't run on my Sharepoint Report Server (My MOSS runs through https while my Shartpoint Report Server is http might this matter?) When I upload it to Sharepoint and run it through the Sharepoint Report Server, I get back EVERYTHING in the report Header and Footer (dataset text and embedded Images) but just a big RED X where the Main Image should be. I have done everything the boards say: A. I made sure the Unattended Execution Account is running on the Reports Server B. I have insured the URL comes back in clean format (else the images wouldn't render locally either and they do) The report logs throw this exception: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ContainerTypeNotSupportedException: The target location you specified is not supported by the report server.     HI, I am trying to call a method defined in flash object from javascript (firefox-3.0/Linux) and getting the exception: "NPMethod called on non- NPObject wrapped JSObject". If I use eval on window.document.flash_object.func() it throws "NPMethod called on non-NPObject wrapped JSObject". Where as, if I define a javascript function in side the page as given below: function myFunc() { return flash_object.func(); } and later do a eval of window.document.myFunc() it works fine. I am running the two evals through a test framework called Selenium. [eval(window.document.flash_object.func()) and eval(window.document.myFunc())]. The issues seems to be issue with invoking the flash-object method without passing 'this' reference.     Hi all, I've got the new autocomplete widget in jQuery UI 1.8rc3 working great in Firefox. It doesn't work at all in IE. Can someone help me out? HTML: <input type="text" id="ctrSearch" size="30"> <input type="hidden" id="ctrId"> Javascript: $("#ctrSearch").autocomplete({ source: "ctrSearch.do", minLength: 3, focus: function(event, ui){ $('#ctrSearch').val(ui.item.ctrLastName + ", " + ui.item.ctrFirstName); return false; }, select: function(event, ui){ $('#ctrId').val(ui.item.ctrId); return false; } }); Result (IE 8): The red box is the <ul> element created by jQuery. I also get this error: Line: 116 Error: Invalid argument. When I open it in the IE8 script debugger, it highlights f[b]=d on line 116 of jquery.min.js. Note that I'm using version 1.4.2 of jQuery hosted on Google's servers (https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js). I've tried removing some of the options, but even when I call .autocomplete() with no options, or with only the source option, I still get the same result. Once again, it's working in Firefox, but not in IE. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • Cannot connect to a SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services cube after installing SQL Server 2008 SP1.

    I've been developing an application that talks directly to an SSAS 2005 OLAP cube. Note that I also have SQL Server 2008 installed, so the other day I did a Windows Update and decided to include SQL Server 2008 SP1 in my update. After doing that, my SSAS 2005 cube is no longer accessible from my application. I'm able to browse the data just fine within SQL Server 2005 BI Studio Manager, but I'm not able to connect to the cube from my application.     Can someone help me understand the following code? I found it here. It takes advantage of the JQuery UI Autocomplete with a remote source. I know the success function literal is an AJAX option which is called when the AJAX query returns. In this case, it seems to encapsulate a call to the response callback? Which is defined where? I thought by definition of a callback, it should be called on its own? Thanks!
