• Security error accessing Service outside of FlexBuilder

  I'm very new to Flex and I have what I think it a head-scratcher. I am building a little Flash app that will consume some web services over HTTP. When I am in Flexbuilder and run my app there, it works fine. When I goto to my FlexBuilder project on my OS and double-click on it, it works fine. When I zip up my bin-debug file, I get this error: Security error accessing url faultCode:Channel.Security.Error faultString: 'Security error accessing url' faultDetail:'Destination: DefaultHTTP' So I googled that and got information on about the crossdomain.xml file. Well, I can't put a crossdomain file in the service I am calling, but I can put one somewhere else. So I put the following lines in Flex app: Security.allowDomain("vx1391"); Security.loadPolicyFile("http://vx1391:8080/job/Remote%20FIT%20Runner/ws/trunk/flash-cross-domain.xml"); My cross-domain.xml file is wide-open: &lt;cross-domain-policy&gt; &lt;allow-access-from domain="*"/&gt; </cross-domain-policy> Which I know is bad in a prod enivironment, but right now I just need to get this working locally but outside of FlexBuilder. Anyone want to help out this Flex-noob?

• Nested UIScrollView-iPhone photos application

  Hi, I have been facing the same nested UIScrollView problem for long time.I tried some open source codes like Scrolling madness ,three-20 and others but all fails finaly.I am trying to make a photo Viewer application same as iPhone.For that I have created the structure like this:- 1)one View controller. 2)on view of view controller one UIScrollView (i.e inner/parent scroll view) as a child. 3)on inner/parent scroll view number of child scroll views(i.e. outer/child scroll views) ,each represents one page of photos application. 4)On each scroll view one image View on which i am displaying my image. So what I want is when user scrolls the outer scroll view it should scroll horizontally with all the child views so I will get the look and feel of paging in photos application.Also when user is on one specific image(i.e. child/outer scroll view) he should be able to zoom in/out,swipes and perform single/double tapping.I was able to make it work in sdk 2.1,but it dosnt work since sdk 3.0.Please tell me the idea behind your project.Means which scroll view you are subclassing ,in which view to detect touches.How this completely child - parent relation should be. If possible provide any sample code also.

• HTTPWebResponse returning no content

  Our company works with another company called iMatrix and they have an API for creating our own forms. They have confirmed that our request is hitting their servers but a response is supposed to come back in 1 of a few ways determined by a parameter. • How to use webbrowser control DocumentCompleted event in C# ?

  Before starting writing this question, i was trying to solve following // 1. navigate to page // 2. wait until page is downloaded // 3. read and write some data from/to iframe // 4. submit (post) form The problem was, that if a iframe exists on a web page, DocumentCompleted event would get fired more then once (after each document has been completed). It was highly likely that program would have tried to read data from DOM that was not completed and naturally - fail. But suddenly while writing this question 'What if' monster inspired me, and i fix'ed the problem, that i was trying to solve. place though. At another part of the code the lister seems to be invoked. Though, there are both Controller types and both us $em->persist($something); $em->flush(); to save the changes. I would expect that in both cases the listener is invoked.

• Debugging StoreKit functionality without a device

  Hi! I'm porting an app with in-app purchase functionality from the iPhone to the iPad, but the simulator doesn't handle any StoreKit calls (they fail immediately with a warning). Since there are no iPads available yet, I can't use a device for debugging. I have thought of a few alternatives: Use the iPhone code as is. This is the safe bet since everything already works on the iPhone, but it will not feel right on the iPad (there are several ViewControllers in a NavigationController involved on the iPhone, but everything could fit on one screen on the pad). Write a test framework for StoreKit. I actually started doing this, but I won't be able to finish it in time. Submit untested code and pray. Nah, just kidding -- that's not an option :) So, any thoughts? Has anyone else written a test framework for this kind of thing? I googled a bit but couldn't find anything. I'm grateful for any thoughts on this!

• ASP.NET validation not executing in a JavaScript showModalDialog call

  I currently open a pop up window from my parent page using using a JavaScript .showModalDialog function. The pop up window contains some ASP.NET validation controls which do not display when the user clicks the ASP.NET button to submit the form. If there is an error on the page, the validation message(s) do not display, the record is not updated on the server side and the pop window closes. (The asp.net validation controls do not stop the pop up window from doing a server postback) Has anyone expereinced this behavior before and is there any way to prevent it? But when I use it with options as in .decodeStream(inputStream, null, options) it never returns Bitmaps. What I'm trying to do is to downsample a Bitmap before I actually load it to save memory. • Issues Connecting to SQLExpress using Oracle SQL Developer

  Hey Guys, I'm trying to create a connection inside Oracle SQL Developer to a SQLExpress database I have Everything I have resides on the same machine so there isn't any network issues I should have to deal with but everytime I follow the instructions and I try to connect I get the following message "Failure - Unable to get information from SQL Server: localhost." I can connect to the SQLExpress DB using the SQL Management Studio and through an ODBC connection. I've installed the third party extensions and I've enabled the TCP protocol on the SQL Server Configuration manager as well as enabled the IP Addresses I'm assuming that the SQLExpress Database is on port 1433 because I didn't change this when I installed but if someone can tell me how to double check that I would appreciate that info as well. I setup the new connection with the following information name: databasename I'm using windows authentication so the username and password aren't filled in host:localhost port:1433/databasename;instance=SQLEXPRESS *databasename - this is replaced with the actual DB name I've just changed the name here to protect the innocent I've spent about a full day on this trying to get it connected and many google attempts where other ppl have had this issue but have gotten it solved through various methods that I've tried and it hasn't resolved my issue. First I validate the records one at a time. I then want to insert them into the database but instead of doing submitChanges() after each record I want to do a mass submit at the end. So I have something like this public class Repository { private LinqtoSqlContext dbcontext = new LinqtoSqlContext(); public void Update() { // find record // update record } public void Insert() { // make a database table object ( ie ProductTable t = new ProductTable() { productname ="something"} // insert record ( dbcontext.ProductTable.insertOnSubmit()) } public void SaveToDb() { dbcontext.submitChanges(); } } Then in my service layer I would do like for(int i = 0; i < 100; i++) { validate(); if(valid == true) { update(); insert() } } SaveToDb(); So pretend my for loop is has a count for all the record found in the xml file. I first validate it. If valid then I have to update a table before I insert the record. I then insert the record. After that I want to save everything in one go. I am not sure if I can do a mass save when updating of if that has to be after every time or what. But I thought it would work for sure for the insert one. Nothing seems to crash and I am not sure how to check if the records are being added to the dbcontext.

  I am trying to connect my application to a SQLite database with LINQ-to-SQL, and so far everything has worked fine. The only hitch was that the SQLite provider I am using does not support code generation (unless I was doing something wrong), so I manually coded the 4 tables in the DB. The solution builds properly, but will not run, giving me the error message Could not find key member 'ItemType_Id' of key 'ItemType_Id' on type 'Item'. The key may be wrong or the field or property on 'Item' has changed names. I have checked and double checked spellings and field names on the database and in the attribute mappings, but could not find any problems.   Hi, I find Yii great framework, and the example website created with yiic shell is a good point to start... however it doesn't cover the topic of multi-language websites, unfortunately. The docs covers the topic of translating short messages, but not keeping the multi-lingual content ... I'm about to start working on a website which needs to be in at least two languages, and I'm wondering what is the best way to keep content for that ... The problem is that the content is mixed extensively with common elements (like embedded video files). I need to avoid duplicating those commons ... so far I used to have an array of arrays containing texts (usually no more than 1-2 short paragraphs), then the view file was just rendering the text from an array. Now I'd like to avoid keeping it in arrays (which requires some attention when putting double quotations " " and is inconvenient in general...). So, what is the best way to keep those short paragraphs? Should I keep them in DB like (id | msg_id | language | content ) and then select them by msg_id & language? That still requires me to create some msg_id's and embed them into view file ... Is there any recommended paradigm for which Yii has some solutions? Thanks, m.

• C# mvc2 client side form validation with xval, prevent post

  I'm using xval to use client side validation in my asp.net mvc2 webapplication. Despite the errors it's giving when i enter text in a nummeric field it still tries to post the form to the database. The incorrect values are being replaced by 0 and saved to the database. But instead it shouldn't even be possible to try and submit the form. Can anyone help me out here? I've set the attributes as below; [Property] [ShowColumnInCrud(true, label = "FromPriceInCents")] [Required] //[Range(1, Int32.MaxValue)] public virtual Int32 FromPriceInCents{ get; set; } The controller catching the request looks as below; I'm getting no errors in this part. Basically, what I want to do is take an input via text using HTML and adding that input to database, table trans. Should be simple but I am lost. <li>Transaction Number</li> <li><input type=|text| name=|tnumber| </li> // do i need to use value? <li>Employee Name</li> <li><input type=|text| name=|ename| </li> <li><input type=|SUBMIT| value=|Add|></li> ...... ...... sqlite3 db $::env(ROOT)/database.db mb eval {INSERT INTO trans VALUES ($tnumber, $ename} mb close They are both in a same file and there are only two fields to the database to keep things simple. What I can see here is that tnumber and ename aren't declared as variables. So how do I do that so that the text input is assigned to respective variables?

• Crystal Reports Programmatic Image Resizing... Scale?

  I'm working with a Crystal Reports object in Visual Studio 2008 (C#). The report is building fine and the data is binding correctly. However, when I try to resize an IBlobFieldObject from within the source, the scale is getting skewed. Two notes about this scenario. Source image is 1024x768, my max width and height are 720x576. My math should be correct that my new image size will be 720x540 (to fit within the max width and height guidelines). • ASP.NET MVC - using model property as form, how can I post to action?

  Consider the following model: public class BandProfileModel { public BandModel Band { get; set; } public IEnumerable<Relationship> Requests { get; set; } } and the following form: <% using (Html.BeginForm()) { %> <%: Html.EditorFor(m => m.Band) %> <input type="submit" value="Save Band" /> <% } %> which posts to the following action: public ActionResult EditPost(BandProfileModel m, string band) { // stuff is done here, but m is null? return View(m); } Basically, I only have one property on my model that is used in the form. The other property in BandProfleModel is just used in the UI for other data. I'm trying to update just the Band property, but for each post, the argument "m" is always null (specifically, the .Band property is null). It's posting just fine to the action, so it isn't a problem with my route. Just the data is null. The ID and name attributes of the fields are BAND_whatever and Band.whatever (whatever being a property of Band), so it seems like it would work... What am I doing wrong? How can I use just one property as part of a form, post back, and have values populated via the model binder for my BandProfileModel property in the action? Thanks.

• Median Filter a bi-level image with JAI

  I'd like to apply a Median Filter to a bi-level image and output a bi-level image. The JAI median filter seems to output an RGB image, which I'm having trouble downconverting back to bi-level. Currently I can't even get the image back into gray color-space, my code looks like this: BufferedImage src; // contains a bi-level image ParameterBlock pb = new ParameterBlock(); pb.addSource(src); pb.add(MedianFilterDescriptor.MEDIAN_MASK_SQUARE); pb.add(3); RenderedOp result = JAI.create("MedianFilter", pb); ParameterBlock pb2 = new ParameterBlock(); pb2.addSource(result); pb2.add(new double[][]{{0.33, 0.34, 0.33, 0}}); RenderedOp grayResult = JAI.create("BandCombine", pb2); BufferedImage foo = grayResult.getAsBufferedImage(); This code hangs on the grayResult line and appears not to return. I assume that I'll eventually need to call the "Binarize" operation in JAI. Edit: Actually, the code appears to be stalling once I call getAsBufferedImage(), but returns nearly instantly when the second operation ("BandCombine") is removed. Is there a better way to keep the Median Filtering in the source color domain? If not, how do I downconvert back to binary?

• cakephp paginate using mysql SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS

  I'm trying to make Cakephp paginate take advantage of the SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS feature in mysql to return a count of total rows while using LIMIT. Hopefully, this can eliminate the double query of paginateCount(), then paginate(). http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/information-functions.html#function_found-rows I've put this in my app_model.php, and it basically works, but it could be done better.   I have problem with I18N in JSP, specifically, with forms. When I enter some Czech characters (e.g., "ešcržýá...") into my page one form, into the field "fieldOne", and then show text from that field on page two, instead of Czech characters I see this as "čč".
