• Unable to set cookie in response header (newcookie doesn't show in external browser) : Jersey jax-rs

But the browser is not storing the cookie. in external browser: the header doesn't have any set-cookie field. Should I use HTTPServletResponse? But shouldn't the javax.ws.rs.core.Response work as well?

I'm sure that I'm just missing something really simple but I can't figure it out. I get a message that the image is being used by another process whenever I try to delete the original image to change it with another one dynamically. How do I release the image from the image control to be able to delete it.   I'm trying to write a Greasemonkey script to update the onclick value of a bunch of links on a page. The HTML looks like this: <a onclick="OpenGenericPopup('url-99.asp','popup',500,500,false)" href="javascript:void(0)">text</a> I need to update the url-99.asp part of the Javascript into something like urlB-99.asp. • Detect Applet context (am I inside an applet?)

  Hi, I'm wondering if there's a way for a Java class to figure out if it is being used within an applet? That is, I have a library (a .jar file) that can be used by 3rd-party applications and applets. It does work within applets, but I'd like to do some things differently, depending on whether or not the library is used in an applet - like show applet-applicable errors, avoid local file I/O, etc. It would be nice if, say, Applet.getAppletContext() was static so that I could call it (and get NULL or not NULL) even if I don't have an applet instance, but alas, it isn't. Is there any other way?

  I have to different ISPs, each on each own network. The main connects via ethernet and the secondary via wifi. The two networks have no relation at all. I just connect to them simultaneously. The reason I want to load balance between them is to achieve higher Internet speeds. Note: I have no advanced network hardware. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. The catch that is in C# code doesn't actually catch it. Why? How to handle this exception? Thank you for your help!

  Here is my sample abstract singleton class: public abstract class A { protected static A instance; public static A getInstance() { return instance; } //...rest of my abstract methods... } And here is the concrete implementation: public class B extends A { private B() { } static { instance = new B(); } //...implementations of my abstract methods... } Unfortunately I can't get the static code in class B to execute, so the instance variable never gets set. I have tried this: Class c = B.class; A.getInstance() - returns null; and this ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader().loadClass("B"); A.getInstance() - return null; Running both these in the eclipse debugger the static code never gets executed. The only way I could find to get the static code executed is to change the accessibility on B's constructor to public, and to call it. I'm using sun-java6-jre on Ubuntu 32bit to run these tests.

• Core Text's CTFramesetterSuggestFrameSizeWithConstraints() returns incorrect size everytime

  According to the docs, CTFramesetterSuggestFrameSizeWithConstraints () "determines the frame size needed for a string range". Unfortunately the size returned by this function is never accurate. Here is what I am doing: NSAttributedString *string = [[[NSAttributedString alloc] initWithString:@"lorem ipsum" attributes:nil] autorelease]; CTFramesetterRef framesetter = CTFramesetterCreateWithAttributedString((CFAttributedStringRef) string); CGSize textSize = CTFramesetterSuggestFrameSizeWithConstraints(framesetter, CFRangeMake(0,0), NULL, CGSizeMake(rect.size.width, CGFLOAT_MAX), NULL); The returned size always has the correct width calculated, however the height is always slightly shorter than what is expected. Is this the correct way to use this method? Is there any other way to layout Core Text? Seems I am not the only one to run into problems with this method. • Silverlight RIA Services. Query fails on large table but works with Where clause

  I have a somewhat large table, maybe 2000 rows by 50 columns. When using the most basic imaginable RIA implementation. Create one-table Model Create DomainService Drop datagrid onto MainPage.xaml Drop datasource onto datagrid Ctrl-F5 I get this error: System.ServiceModel.DomainServices.Client.DomainOperationException: Load operation faild for query. Value cannot be null. Error is much larger, but thats the beginning of it. The weird thing is that if I narrow the results down with a where clause on the GetQuery, it works fine. In fact six different querys which together result in all of the rows being called works fine also. So basically, I'm sure its not some sort of rogue row. Why do I get this "Value cannot be null" error if I query the whole table? Thanks

Well, with this code I get only the fade-in step, since the UILabel suddenly disappear, then fades-in. Some suggestion? Thanks.

  I have created a new ActionFilter for an ASP.NET MVC application that I'm creating. I have an action which accepts an Http Post and the argument of the action method accepts an object, for which I have created and registered a custom model binder. I noticed that inside the IActionFilter.OnActionExecuting the value for filterContext.Controller.ViewData.Model is always null despite the fact that it looks like the model binder is always invoked before the action filter OnActionExecuting method. In contrast to this inside the IActionFilter.OnActionExecuted method of the same action filter the value for filterContext.Controller.ViewData.Model is not null. Do you guys know if this is by design or a bug? If by design are their any links which describe why this is? Thanks.

• How can I reliably check client identity whilst making DCOM calls to a C# .Net 3.5 Server?

  Hi, I have an old Win32 C++ DCOM Server that I am rewriting to use C# .Net 3.5. The client applications sit on remote XP machines and are also written in C++. These clients must remain unchanged, hence I must implement the interfaces on new .Net objects. This has been done, and is working successfully regarding the implementation of the interfaces, and all of the calls are correctly being made from the old clients to the new .Net objects. However, I'm having problems obtaining the identity of the calling user from the DCOM Client. In order to try to identify the user who instigated the DCOM call, I have the following code on the server... What I have noticed is that the first few users have their DCOM calls handled on their own thread (ie all calls from a particular client are handled by a single unique thread), and then subsequent users are being handled by the same threads as the earlier users, and after the call to CoImpersonateClient(), the CurrentPrincipal matches that of the initial user of that thread. To Illustrate: User Tom makes DCOM calls which are handled by thread 1 (CurrentPrincipal correctly identifies Tom) User Dick makes DCOM calls which are handled by thread 2 (CurrentPrincipal correctly identifies Dick) User Harry makes DCOM calls which are handled by thread 3 (CurrentPrincipal correctly identifies Harry) User Bob makes DCOM calls which are handled by thread 3 (CurrentPrincipal incorrectly identifies him as Harry) As you can see in this illustration, calls from clients Harry and Bob are being handled on thread 3, and the server is identifying the calling client as Harry. Is there something that I am doing wrong? Are there any caveats or restrictions on using Impersonations in this way? Is there a better or different way that I can RELIABLY achieve what I am trying to do? All help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Andrew

  hi, i am having problem updating a blob with hibernate. (i am using Hiberante 3.3.1-GA) my model have these getters/setters for hibernate, i.e. internally i deal with byte[] so any getter/setter convert the byte[] to blog. I can create an initial object without problem, but if I try to change the content of the blob, the database column is not updated. • Sharing cookies/session from WebView to HttpClient doesn't work

  I know this question has been asked a hundred times, and I've read and tried for 2 hours now, but I can't find my error :-( I am trying to create a simple webbrowser and therefore have a webview, where I login on a site and get access to a picture area. With help of a DefaultHttpClient, I want to make it possible to download pictures in the secured area. Therefore I am trying to share the cookies from the webview and pass them on to the HttpClient, so that it is authenticated and able to download. But whatever I try and do, I always get a 403 response back... When I manually say cookieManager.getCookie("www.example.com"); I get some cookies back, which I add to the HttpClient cookie store: There are 5 cookies added - testcookie = 0 - PHPSESSID = 320947238someGibberishSessionId - email = [email protected] - pass = 32423te32someEncodedPassGibberish - user = 345542 So although these cookies, a session ID and other stuff, get added to the HttpClient, it never get's through to download an image. Im totally lost... though I guess that it either has something to do with the cookies domains, or that Im still missing other cookies. But from where the heck should I know which cookies exist in the webview, when I have to specify a specific URL to get a cookie back?? :-( Any advice?

If the connection is successful, I can verify that ServerConnection.ConnectTimeout is set to 2 (seconds), but when I supply a bogus name for the SQL Server instance, it still attempts to connect to it for ~ 15 seconds (which is I believe the default timeout value). Does anyone have experience with setting SMO connection timeout? Thank you in advance.
