    Hi all, I've been annoyed by this fingers ache for quite a long time, my fingers ache because of too much mouse clicking during office hour plus play games after work. I forget game for a while and my fingers are getting better, but still my right pointing finger would feel pressure when I click the mouse. I haven't go to a doctor because I afraid the fee would be high and he would just suggest me too get rest for the fingers, also, I don't know what kind of doctor should I go and see. My fingers get less pressure if I use my expensive deathadder ( what a shame, I bought this for gaming, but now I use it for rest ) at home because its buttons are softer, however I cannot have such expensive mouse at my office because I am afraid people would steal it. I use some trick when I am using the mouse such as single-click open a file, adding more shortcuts at desktop for common jobs, do you guys have some other tips for me? Thank you.

  • What do you think of the EntLib 5.0 configuration tool?

    Hello again! Its been a while, I know. Ive been busy over the last few months with several projects, some of them software related, and one of them human my son Jesse was born on 26 February 2010. Fun times! Meanwhile, back in Redmond, the p&p team has been busy working on Enterprise Library 5.0 see Grigoris announcement for details on the beta. Theres a ton of new stuff in this release, but theres one big new feature that hasnt received a lot of attention that Im keen to hear your perspectives on. The change is the biggest overhaul to the configuration tool since Enterprise Library was launched. If you havent yet grabbed the EntLib 5.0 beta, heres a before and after shot of the config tool: Enterprise Library 4.1 config tool Enterprise Library 5.0 (beta 1) config tool The tool has been rebuilt from the ground up in response to some feedback and usability studies from the previous version of the tool. But is this a step in the right direction? Id love to hear what you think. If youve downloaded EntLib 5.0 and tried out the tool, please share your thoughts on: First impressions. Is the tool easy to understand? Easy to find what youre looking for? Easy to read existing configuration? Pretty? Ease of use for real life tasks. Rather than make up your own tasks, here are a few sample scenarios you might want to try: Configure the data access block with a SQL Server connection called Audit that points to a database called Audit on a server called DB Configure the logging block so that any log entries in the Audit category are written to both the Event Log and the Audit database (see above) Configure the validation block with a ruleset called Email Address that uses an appropriate regular expression for e-mail addresses Configure the policy injection block such that any calls to classes in the MyCompany.Security namespace are logged before and after the call using the Audit category (see above) Comparison with the old config tool.   • Passing a variable from Excel 2007 Custom Task Pane to Hosted PowerShell

    I am testing PowerShell hosting using C#. The idea was this: when I click the button a hosted PowerShell instance is created and I can pass to it the current Excel.Application instance as a variable, just like in the first sample, so I can use this variable to automate Excel from PowerShell (one text box would be used for input and the other one for output. But when I pass the Excel.Application instance to the PowerShell instance what gets there is an instance of System.__ComObject and I can't figure out how to cast it to Excel.Application.   • Rails can't render polymorphic associations to XML?

    When I render XML with an :include clause for a polymorphic association I have, it doesn't work. I end up with the XML returning the object pointers instead of the actual objects, like: <posts> #<Comment:0x102ed1540>#<Comment:0x102ecaa38>#<Comment:0x102ec7fe0>#<Comment:0x102ec3cd8> </posts> Yet as_json works! When I render JSON with :include clause, the associations are rendered correctly and I get something like: posts":[ {"type":"Comment","created_at":"2010-04-20T23:02:30-07:00","id":7,"content":"fourth comment"}, {"type":"Comment","created_at":"2010-04-20T23:02:26-07:00","id":6,"content":"third comment"}] My current workaround is using XML builder, but I'm not too comfortable with that in the long run. Does anyone happen to know about this issue? I'm kind of in a catch-22 because while XML doesn't render the associations, as_json doesn't render in a kosher json format (returns an array rather than a list of hashes as proper json should) and the deserializer I'm using on the client side would require modification to parse the json correctly.

The records need to be sorted as follows (excuse the formatting): 2010-05 2010-04 site1.com keyword1 apples wine keyword1 visits 100 12 keyword2 oranges water keyword2 visits 99 10 site2.com keyword1 blueberry cornbread keyword1 visits 90 100 keyword2 squares biscuits keyword2 visits 80 99 Basically what I need to accomplish involves grouping, but I can't seem to figure it out. Am I heading down the right path, or is there another way to achieve this, or is it just impossible?

I've used the mod_proxy and jsvc construction mentioned in this question and described on this page to connect apache with tomcat (data is served via SSL) For the sample Tomcat application, everything works as it should.     Suddenly, after doing a TFS 2010 get, Visual Studio 2010 is attempting to compile my .tt file as if it was c#. Moreover, anytime I set it to "Build Action=None", Build Action gets mysteriously reset to Compile. This is breaking our builds on the desktop. I can get builds to work on the desktop by closing then reopening VS. Our builds on TFS are totally broken because of this. What to do? The template generates a (totally ok) c# file, so I need the project to build. I tried changing the file extension from .tt to .donotbuilddammit but that had no effect.

As I'm using a different set of data - instead of the "All Grants" and "Grants by Year" buttons - I have one for 5 consecutive years - 2010, 2009 etc. My opening graph depicts the data for 2010 which is achieved by filtering the data from the .csv file , which contains the data for all 5 years. The problem I'm having is filtering and re-rendering the graph if another year is then chosen. I'd really appreciate it if anyone has any suggestions how I could simply achieve this? Thanks, Majella

  • Is there a certain IIS configuration required to allow a functioning .Net 4.0 ASP.Net MVC 2 Azure ap

    I just installed the Azure 1.2 tools update and would like to get to work on an Azure project running locally using ASP.Net MVC and .Net 4, but I cannot get MVC pages to load. If I just create a new Azure project in VS 2010, add a ASP.Net MVC web role, and run the application, pages never load. It appears that routing is somehow at fault as controller actions never get called, but if I add other pages to the project (like .htm or .aspx) they will load in the browser. It all works fine with a new project using .Net 3.5, MVC 2 project in the Azure development environment; it all works fine with .Net 4.0 MVC 2 project that is not running in Azure; only the combination does not work. Environment is Win 7 x64 (IIS 7.5), VS 2010, Azure tools 1.2 Is there some magic IIS setting I need to change or something? Any ideas?

    I went to the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 launch event in Minneapolis yesterday and was slightly surprised by how much they were trotting out SharePoint and improved SharePoint development in Visual Studio 2010. SharePoint is something I've largely ignored over the years as a web developer and solution architect on a small development team. I was always under the impression that SharePoint was used mostly for intranets in large corporations, and that if you were developing for SharePoint, it meant that a corporate decision had been made to use it and you as a developer probably had few (if any) options. I realize this assumption is probably incorrect. So, what are the "cool" uses for SharePoint? What unique business problems have you solved using it? What could make a developer excited to be working on something for SharePoint?

    For the purposes of this question, let's assume the user will be from the US and will use the standard Gregorian calendar. So, a calendar week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday. What I'm trying to do is determine the number of calendar weeks that exist between two dates. A perfect example of my problem exists in October 2010. Between 10/16 and 10/31 there are 4 calendar weeks. View a picture of October 2010 October 10 - October 16 October 17 - October 23 October 24 - October 30 October 31 - November 6 I'd prefer to stay away from any hardcoded logic like: if (Day == DayOfWeek.Saturday && LastDayOfMonth == 31) { ... } Can anyone think of a logical way to do this?
