Hey, I'm trying to create a Flex DataGrid where the firstname and lastname are shown under each other, but in the DataGridColumn Ideally I would want to do something like <mx:columns> <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Column 2" dataField="time"/> <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Column 2" dataField="firstname,lastname" itemRenderer="renderers.FirstNameLastName"/> so that both values get passed to the itemrenderer, is this possible? Hello, i would like to add some external .dll libraries e.g. glut32.dll (but it's only example) in vs 2008 using C#. Can you please tell me what should i do step by step? i am a little bit confused cause i found a lot of solutions to add dll files but they significantly differ.. some of them add dll's only using code, some using properties in vs, add references and in other tutorials there is about registering dlls in system. How can I override the attribute assignment in an active record object?

I know you can do this with virtual attributes, but what if the column actually exists? For example, my model has a raw_topic column. When raw_topic is set, I want artist and song_title to be set based off of raw_topic's contents. Ideally, I'd like to override the raw_topic= method, but rails doesn't seem to like that. What's the proper way of doing this? Is a callback the only way?

Supporting Piping (A Useful Hello World)

I am trying to write a collection of simple C++ programs that follow the basic Unix philosophy by: Make each program do one thing well. Expect the output of every program to become the input to another, as yet unknown, program. I'm having an issue trying to get the output of one to be the input of the other, and getting the output of one be the input of a separate instance of itself. Very briefly, I have a program add which takes arguments and spits out the summation. I want to be able to pipe the output to another add instance. ./add 1 2 | ./add 3 4 That should yield 6 but currently yields 10. I've encountered two problems: The cin waits for user input from the console. I don't want this, and haven't been able to find a simple example showing a the use of standard input stream without querying the user in the console. If someone knows of an example please let me know. I can't figure out how to use standard input while supporting piping. Currently, it appears it does not work. If I issue the command ./add 1 2 | ./add 3 4 it results in 7. The relevant code is below: add.cpp snippet // ... Currently what displays in the simulator is just hte contents of the paint function, however the ObjectChoiceField is still selectable if one happens to click in the right location. I would like both the text contents and the paint function contents to appear. First, add code sign section in my .xcodeproj(3.2.5). hi I am working a client/server application in C#. In the database i have 2 tables: Person and Address. The Person table has a many-to-one relationship with Address. Is it possible to include JButton in a JTable?

I have a JTable that stores the results of a database query, so far so good. What I want is for the last column in each table to have a clickible JButton that will open the edit screen for the object represented in that row, and that means the button will need to know the details of the first column in the table from its own row (the ID from the database). Any advice? I already tried just adding JButtons but they turned into Text when I tried to run it.

Need a good way to store data in a DB from a table on a webpage that can have N columns.

Users need to be able to add a specific type of column to an otherwise static table on my web page and then save the information they enter in there to the database. I've been told that in reality they will almost never go over 5 columns but I would rather support N. The columns will all be of the same datatype. My first thought was to have an XML column with the values from all added columns in there but I was curious if anyone else had come up with a better solution. Suggestions?

Changing the onClick area when adding an event

Is there anyway to change what a user clicks on to add an event? Right now the entire day is clickable. This becomes an issue when the user needs to put focus back on that window, requiring a mouse click. If they click on the calendar, which takes up most of the page, then they launch the "Add Event" function. Is there a way to have a Plus sign (+), or whatever symbol in each day that when clicked, launches the "Add Event" function? Or... Is there a way to have a button across the top that said, "Add Event"?

Java Best Practice for type resolution at runtime.

I'm trying to define a class (or set of classes which implement the same interface) that will behave as a loosely typed object (like JavaScript). They can hold any sort of data and operations on them depend on the underlying type. I have it working in three different ways but none seem ideal. These test versions only allow strings and integers and the only operation is add. Adding integers results in the sum of the integer values, adding strings concatenates the strings and adding an integer to a string converts the integer to a string and concatenates it with the string. The final version will have more types (Doubles, Arrays, JavaScript-like objects where new properties can be added dynamically) and more operations.
