• Find -type d with no subfolders

  Good morning ! This is a simple one I believe, but I am still a noob :) I am trying to find all folders with a certain name. I am able to do this with the command find /path/to/look/in/ -type d | grep .texturedata The output gives me lots of folders like this : /path/to/look/in/.texturedata/v037/animBMP But I would like it to stop at .texturedata : /path/to/look/in/.texturedata/ I have hundreds of these paths and would like to lock them down by piping the output of grep into chmod 000 I was given a command with the argument -dpe once, but I have no idea what it does and the Internet has not be able to help me determine it's usage Thanks you very much for your help !

• Continue Drupal processing after page send.

  I need to do some additional processing after a Drupal page has been sent. I know I could fire a background shell command, but I need the current Drupal execution context to be maintained. I've spent a lot of time looking, but I can't find any documentation in this regard. This is surprising because it must surely be a common requirement. The only real idea I have is to fire up Drupal (again) via a shell command (exec, etc) and supply it with a pseudo path which would invoke the continued processing. But this seems unnecessarily complex/wasteful. Any pointers greatly appreciated, tks.

• Python change the working directory for an exe opened with startfile

  In python i'm using the os.startfile command to start a windows executable that does especific stuff in its own folder, the python code is running from another folder, so when I start the file, it starts in the python script's working directory, but it has to start in its own directory. I've tried to use os.chdir(path) to change the working directory, but it fails, the file still not runs in it's own folder. I thought maybe there is a command like shortcut's "Start in" line. I've searched everywere, but not success. The only solution comes to my mind is to create a shortcut and add the "start in" line, then launch the shortcut, but that is very impractical.

  I'm having two errors when I test the "mysql_connect()" function in php. I just installed PHP and MySQL from scratch. • Can Perforce remove a version entry (like ClearCase Destroy)?

  I submitted a Changelist in Perforce, but I forgot to remove a couple of files from the list first. I want to undo those changes. I understand that Perforce allows me to "rollback" -- but that just submits another change to the file, cluttering my branch. This is a file I did not intend to change at all. When I go to integrate back into the baseline, this file shows up as needing to be integrated (even though it's the same as what's on the baseline). In Clearcase, I had the ability to simply issue a "destroy" command on the specific version of the file, nuking it from the repository, as if had never been (yes, I realize this is scary from a revision control perspective - I understand the risks). Is there an equivalent command in Perforce? Or am I trying to do something expressly forbidden?

  Not sure what to make of this error. Added -D_WIN32_WINNT=0x0501 to Visual Studio's "Command Line" options under Project Properties but it says it doesn't recognize it and the warning still appears. I am also not sure how to add the Preprocessor Definition. :) Thanks for any help! 1Please define _WIN32_WINNT or _WIN32_WINDOWS appropriately. For example: 1- add -D_WIN32_WINNT=0x0501 to the compiler command line; or 1- add _WIN32_WINNT=0x0501 to your project's Preprocessor Definitions.

  Here is a simple program. class Redirection { public static void main (String args[]){ System.out.println("Hello World_Stdout"); System.err.println("Hello World_Stderr"); } } I want to see the all the outputs on a console, but at the same time I want to store stdout and stderr in different files. I tried the following command, to no avail. $java Redirection 3>&1 2>stderr 1>stdout 1>&3 2>&3 stderr& stdout files have the file size of 0. So basically I want to do what "tee" command does but I also want to capture stderr as well.

  I want to be able to search within the commit logs of svn. I know you can do that on tortoise, but couldn't find a way using the command line. We are moving to a two-tiered repository approach, so that the stable branch will only get stories fully completed and tested. To achieve that, we would need a way to search within the commit messages for the story code (eg:#s1322) and get a list of the revisions to be used in a subsequent merge command.   Hi there, I learned that when executing commands in Python, I should use subprocess. What I'm trying to achieve is to encode a file via ffmpeg and observe the program output until the file is done. Ffmpeg logs the progress to stderr. If I try something like this: child = subprocess.Popen(command, shell=True, stderr=subprocess.PIPE) complete = False while not complete: stderr = child.communicate() # Get progress print "Progress here later" if child.poll() is not None: complete = True time.sleep(2) the programm does not continue after calling child.communicate() and waits for the command to complete. Is there any other way to follow the output?

  There is a text file containing words with 1 space between each of them. And there is also a command line entry that gives the length of line (output) wanted. Output will be words that fit into the length of the line (taken from command line). Also the first word will be on the left side of the line and the last word will be right side of it. The spaces between each word will be same. Any help will be appreciated thanks for replying.

  Hi, I'm working on a vb.net application which imports from an Excel spreadsheet. If rdr.HasRows Then Do While rdr.Read() If rdr.GetValue(0).Equals(System.DBNull.Value) Then Return Nothing Else Return rdr.GetValue(0) End If Loop Else I was using string value to store the double values and when preparing the database statement I'd use this code: If (LastDayAverage = Nothing) Then command.Parameters.AddWithValue("@WF_LAST_DAY_TAG", System.DBNull.Value) Else command.Parameters.AddWithValue("@WF_LAST_DAY_TAG", Convert.ToDecimal(LastDayAverage)) End If I now have some data with quite a few decimal places and the data was put into the string variable in scientific notation, so this seems to be the wrong approach. It didn't seem right using the string variable to begin with. If I use a double or decimal type variable, the blank excel values come across as 0.0. How can I preserve the blank values? Thanks

  I'm using an INSERT ON DUPLICATE KEY statement for my website. It's for creating news items, so I figured I could use the same MySQL command for both creating and updating news items. However, when I use the following: INSERT INTO table (id,title,content) VALUES(NULL,"Test","Test"); Instead of creating a new auto increment value it throws an error. However, the command works on my main development server. But not on my laptop. Both versions of MySQL are the same, the only difference being MySQL was installed manually on my server, and with WAMP on my laptop. Are there any MySQL Variables that could be causing this?

My question is that am I really safe If I remove the captcha validation from my subscription script. The subscription is simple. • g++ library search failure

  I have a directory structure as below: / | +--- /lib | libsomething.a | libsomething.so | +----/obj anObjFile.o When I run the following command from within the obj directory: g++ -L../lib -lsomething anObjFile.o I get undefined reference errors. Apparently gcc is failing to locate libsomething.a. But now if I delete libsomething.so and then rerun the command, linking succeeds. As per gcc documentation -lsomething should expand to libsomething.a. Then why is presence of libsomething.so causing the library search to fail? Also, how can I resolve this problem? I'm on Linux Mint 12 with gcc version 4.6.1.

Or am I doing it wrong/got the wrong command?   I am trying to create a windows form project, and use speech recognition for the Kinect with the Kinect to Windows SDK. I have the form application project (p1) and the Kinect speech project (p2) which is a command prompt. I made it a command prompt because it was the easiest way to do things. Anyway, I have read and found two things about this. 1)I found out how to run two projects at the same time in the same solution. 2) I also found out how to add references to get classes from each project to the other. So, how would I get variables from each project? Just by using project references, or something? P2 can recognize speech and save it to variables, if that counts for anything.

• Dispatcher.CheckAccess() isn't working from my console application, is there a better way.

  I wrote an application in WPF / VB and separated the business logic and UI into different projects. The business layer uses a serial port which runs on a different thread, Now that I'm trying to write a command line interface for the same business layer, it seems to fail when .Invoke() is called. (no error, just doesn't work) I'm pretty sure the reason I had to add in checkaccess and .invoke was because I have collections that would be changed during processing the serial port data and wanted the NotifyCollectionChanged to be handled by WPF data binding. (The reason I'm not 100% sure is because it was months ago I wrote that part and it all worked great from the GUI, now adding the console app has made me rethink some of this) I would like my business layer to run these processes on the thread they were created, I need this to work from both my GUI version and the command line version. Am I misusing the Dispatcher in my business layer? Is there a better way to handle an event from the serial port, and then return to the main thread to processes the data?
