• How to grab the lines AFTER a matched line in python

  Hi All, I am an amateur using Python on and off for some time now. Sorry if this is a silly question, but I was wondering if anyone knew an easy way to grab a bunch of lines if the format in the input file is like this: " Heading 1 Line 1 Line 2 Line 3 Heading 2 Line 1 Line 2 Line 3 " I won't know how many lines are after each heading, but I want to grab them all. All I know is the name, or a regular expression pattern for the heading. The only way I know to read a file is the "for line in file:" way, but I don't know how to grab the lines AFTER the line I'm currently on. Hope this makes sense, and thanks for the help!

• Using Public/Private keys in reverse

  Hi, I have a situation where I need to make some data available for reading by anyone from a specific device, where the data is pre-loaded on the device, but I cannot allow anyone to create their own device and populate it with their own data in the same format. I know this sounds a little crazy, but there is a good reason! I was planning to use Public Key cryptography, encrypting the data with a public key, but then publishing the private key to anyone who wants to read the data. However, after looking at the RSACryptoServiceProvider and how it works it looks like I cannot just publish the private key as the private key can be used to create the public key. Could someone confirm that suspicion, or give me some hints on how I might be able to make this work! Many Thanks.

  Hi,be m I am working on an application which has below requiements - 1. Download a ZIP file from a server. 2. Uncompress the ZIP file, get the content (which is in XML format) from this file into a String. 3. Pass this content into another method for parsing and further processing. Now, my concerns here is the XML file may be of Huge size say like '100MB', and my JVM has memory of only 512 MB, so how can I get this content into Chunks and pass for Parsing and then insert the data into PL/SQL tables. Since there can be multiple requests running at the same time and considering 512MB of memory what will be the best possible to process this. How I can get the data into Chunks and pass it as Stream for XML parsing. I googled on this, but didnt find any implementation. :( Thanks,

  In the GQL reference [1], it is encouraged to use the IN keyword with a list of values, and to construct a Key from hand the GQL query SELECT * FROM MyModel WHERE __key__ = KEY('MyModel', 'my_model_key') will succeed. However, using the code you would expect to work: SELECT * FROM MyModel WHERE __key__ IN (KEY('MyModel', 'my_model_key1'), KEY('MyModel', 'my_model_key2')) in the Datastore Viewer, there is a complaint of "Invalid GQL query string." What is the correct way to format such a query?   I'm trying to typeset a document I'm working on. Currently I'm trying to format a piece of text such that the text consists of two colors: a fill color and a line color. In this way the header should pop out more. I found \psset with options such as linecolor and fillcolor, but I can't get it to work. Can someone provide an example of how I could do this? Just providing a color using the color-package is no problem, but also not what I want because using this package I can only provide a single color for a piece of text.

  Can someone enlighthen me with regards to Linq please? I have a dataset that is populated via a SQL Stored Procedure, the format of which is below: Country | Brand | Variant | 2004 | 2005 | 2006 | 2007 | 2008 The number of rows varies between 50 and several thousand. What I'm trying to do is use Linq to interrogate the dataset (there will be several Linq queries based on user options), but a simple example would be to SUM the year columns based on Brand.   Hi Everyone, Can someone tell me why this unit test that checks for exceptions fails? Obviously my real test is checking other code but I'm using Int32.Parse to show the issue.   I am currently trying to sanitize some log files so they are in an easier format to read, and have been trying to use the gnu cut command, which works fairly well, although I cannot really think of a good way to remove the [INFO] part of the string logs/logs/server_1283258036.log:2010-08-31 23:06:51 [INFO] <NateMar> where?! logs/logs/server_1281904775.log:2010-08-15 22:59:53 [INFO] <BoonTheMoon> §b<BoonTheMoon>§ohhhhhh I would ultimately want to get the strings down to something that resembles the following 2010-08-31 23:06:51 <NateMar> where?! 2010-08-15 22:59:53 <BoonTheMoon> ohhhhhh how should I go about doing this? Have thought about using awk, although Im having a difficult time getting a grip on how that would work, so not sure how to set up something to do that, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

  I am trying to parse a string timestamp of format "yyyyMMddHHmmss" with DateTime.ParseExact(). The catch is I must allow for an hour value of "24" (i.e. hours can be from 0 to 24; Note: I can't control the input values.) and, of course, that results in an exception. Are there any settings/properties I can set instead of manually parsing/using regex's? If not, any efficient parsing ideas? ex. DateTime.ParseExact("20120911240000", "yyyyMMddHHmmss", System.Globalization.CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); hour 24 means hour 0 of next day (so day + 1, hour = 0)

• How to get the line number an xml element is on via the Java w3c dom api

  Is there a way to lookup the line number that a given element is at in an xml file via the w3c dom api? My use case for this is that we have 30,000+ maps in kml/xml format. I wrote a unit test that iterates over each file found on the hard drive (about 17GB worth) and tests that it is parseable by our application. When it fails I throw an exception that contains the element instance that was considered "invalid". In order for our mapping department (nobody here knows how to program) to easily track down the typo we would like to log the line number of the element that caused the exception. Can anybody suggest a way to do this? Please note we are using the W3C dom api included in the Android 1.6 SDK.

• Elegant Method of Inserting Code Between Loops

  In web development, I often find I need to format and print various arrays of data, and separate these blocks of data in some manner. In other words, I need to be able to insert code between each loop, without said code being inserted before the first entry or after the last one. The most elegant way I've found to accomplish this is as follows: function echoWithBreaks($array){ for($i=0; $i<count($array); $i++){ //Echo an item if($i<count($array)-1){ //Echo "between code" } } } Unfortunately, there's no way that I can see to implement this solution with foreach instead of for. Does anyone know of a more elegant solution that will work with foreach?

• All things equal what is the fastest way to output data to disk in C++?

  I am running simulation code that is largely bound by CPU speed. I am not interested in pushing data in/out to a user interface, simply saving it to disk as it is computed. What would be the fastest solution that would reduce overhead? iostreams? printf? I have previously read that printf is faster. Will this depend on my code and is it impossible to get an answer without profiling? Edit: Output data needs to be in text format, whether tab or comma separated. This will require formatting, precision, etc. Running in Windows.

  I want to embed a search box to allow my website users to search images using google images search (not only images in my website, but general images search). However, I don't want an Iframe of something similar, but to present a custom list of the images and links in the format I chose. Ideally, I could get the links to the thumbnails to the in JSON. From what I have found so far, it seems that google no longer supports it's API: https://developers.google.com/image-search/ I am familiar with google custom search, but as far as I know, I can't control exactly how it will be presented.   I have a Backbone collection whose URL depends on the initialize function. When I create an instance of this Backbone collection, I pass in an ID to filter which instances of the model appear.
