In order to do this, I added the following line of code in styles.xml @drawable/color_panel_background color_panel_background.9.png is located in drawable folder. This is also available in Android SDK res folder.     I have a C++ library I want to add to my iphone project. In one header file I declare @class a { cppvirtualclass V; } This compiles fine for the iPhone device with Release settings. However it refuses to compile for the Simulator with or without debug info. It give the error error: type 'V' has virtual member functions. Is there a way out of this or do I have to define only concrete C++ classes?

    Using PHP's Image and GD functions you can use the following method to finally output the php image imagepng($image); Sometimes, for whatever reason the image may not be displayed typically the error is not with the image but with the actual php functions not executing successfully. However this causes a blank image to be returned which doesn't help me. A separate library is fine.. or even 'wanted', at least something that does not pull in a 'whole new world' of dependencies that System.Web requires. I only want to convert a normal string into its xml/xhtml compliant equivalent (& back).

    I am quite certain we cannot use the LIMIT clause for what I want to do - so wanted to find if there are any other ways we can accomplish this. I have a table which captures which user visited which store. Every time a user visits a store, a row is inserted into this table. Some of the fields are shopping_id (primary key) store_id user_id Now what I want is - for a given set of stores, find the top 5 users who have visited the store max number of times. I can do this 1 store at a time as: select store_id,user_id,count(1) as visits from shopping where store_id = 60 group by user_id,store_id order by visits desc Limit 5 This will give me the 5 users who have visited store_id=60 the max times What I want to do is provide a list of 10 store_ids and for each store fetch the 5 users who have visited that store max times select store_id,user_id,count(1) as visits from shopping where store_id in (60,61,62,63,64,65,66) group by user_id,store_id order by visits desc Limit 5 This will not work as the Limit at the end will return only 5 rows rather than 5 rows for each store. Any ideas on how I can achieve this. I can always write a loop and pass 1 store at a time but wanted to know if there is a better way

    SELECT x FROM SomeClass WHERE x.dateAtt BETWEEN CURRENT_DATE AND (CURRENT_DATE + 1 MONTH) In the above JPQL statement, SomeClass has a memebr dateAttr, which is a java.util.Date and has a @Temporal(javax.persistence.TemporalType.DATE) annotation. I need a way to do the (CURRENT_DATE + 1 MONTH) bit - it is obviously wrong in its current state - but cannot find the doc with the date function for JPQL. Can anyone point me in the direction of a doc that documents JPQL date functions (and also how to do this particular query)?

    Hi, I just want to ask, I know that standart system calls in Linux are done by int instruction pointing into Interrupt Vector Table. I assume this is similiar on Windows. But, how do you call some higher-level specific system routines? Such as how do you tell Windows to create a window? I know this is handled by the code in the dll, but what actually happend at assembler-instruction level? Does the routine in dll calls software interrupt by int instruction, or is there any different approach to handle this? Thanks.

  • Common Table Expressions slow when using a table variable

    I have been experimenting with the following (simplified) CTE. When using a table variable () the query runs for minutes before I cancel it. Any of the other commented out methods return in less than a second. If I replace the whole WHERE clause with an INNER JOIN it is fast as well. Any ideas why using a table variable would run so slowly? FWIW: The database contains 2.5 million records and the inner query returns 2 records. I have mostly C#/.NET background, so my first choice is to learn F# (because of .NET and familiarity with Visual Studio).   • MinGW/G++/g95 link problem - libf95 undefined reference to `MAIN_'

    Hi folks, Summing up, my problem consists on compiling g95 objects inside a C++ application. Actually, I'm constructing an interface for an old fortran program. For this task, I'm using the wxWidgets GUI library, and calling fortran subroutines when necessary. At the beginning, I was developing the entire project compiling my fortran files with gfortran (which comes with GCC) and linking them with my app by the g++ -o... command. Everything was working fine but some numbers values calculated by my fotran subroutines returned NAN values. Doing some research, I realized that compiling my fortran files with gfortran with the -m32 flag, generates this NAN values problem. Although compiling with -m64 flag, my code works properly well. The only trouble here is that my App should be 32bits and then I tryed another compiller. Here I found g95 Fortran compiler, which compiles my fortran code and gives the right output on a 32bits environment. I have already read the g95 Manual for integration with C++ and I'm actually calling these functions bellow for controlling the fortran environment: void g95_runtime_start(int argc, char *argv[]); void g95_runtime_stop(); I also included the g95 Fortran Runtime Library libf95.a and the libgcc.a into my linker command. Finishing, I don't have a main method implemented because this is managed by wxWidgets, and my fortran subroutines can not have a main function because this is a C++ program calling fortran functions.   • Boosting my GA with Neural Networks and/or Reinforcement Learning

    As I have mentioned in previous questions I am writing a maze solving application to help me learn about more theoretical CS subjects, after some trouble I've got a Genetic Algorithm working that can evolve a set of rules (handled by boolean values) in order to find a good solution through a maze. That being said, the GA alone is okay, but I'd like to beef it up with a Neural Network, even though I have no real working knowledge of Neural Networks (no formal theoretical CS education). After doing a bit of reading on the subject I found that a Neural Network could be used to train a genome in order to improve results. Let's say I have a genome (group of genes), such as 1 0 0 1 0 1 0 1 0 1 1 1 0 0... How could I use a Neural Network (I'm assuming MLP?) to train and improve my genome? In addition to this as I know nothing about Neural Networks I've been looking into implementing some form of Reinforcement Learning, using my maze matrix (2 dimensional array), although I'm a bit stuck on what the following algorithm wants from me: (from http://people.revoledu.com/kardi/tutorial/ReinforcementLearning/Q-Learning-Algorithm.htm) 1. Set parameter , and environment reward matrix R 2. Initialize matrix Q as zero matrix 3. For each episode: * Select random initial state * Do while not reach goal state o Select one among all possible actions for the current state o Using this possible action, consider to go to the next state o Get maximum Q value of this next state based on all possible actions o Compute o Set the next state as the current state End Do End For The big problem for me is implementing a reward matrix R and what a Q matrix exactly is, and getting the Q value. I use a multi-dimensional array for my maze and enum states for every move. How would this be used in a Q-Learning algorithm? If someone could help out by explaining what I would need to do to implement the following, preferably in Java although C# would be nice too, possibly with some source code examples it'd be appreciated.

    I try to create a PDF with multiple pages and need to calculate the height of each individual element (MultiCell) in advance to prepare for a page break. According to the documentation there are a couple of functions out there like GetCharWidth/GetStringWidth to support me in doing it on my own, but besides a potential performance lost I probably will not do it the right anyway.   • Legacy URL rewriting with query string parameters

    I've looked at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/817325/asp-net-mvc-routing-legacy-urls-passing-querystring-ids-to-controller-actions and several other similar posts for legacy URL routing, but I can't get past the error "The RouteData must contain an item named 'controller' with a non-empty string value." Looking this up on line didn't give me any hints to solve my problem. I've implemented the Legacy routing class described in the link above, and this is what I've defined in the routing table: routes.Add( "Legacy", new LegacyRoute("fooref.aspx", "FooRef", new LegacyRouteHandler()) ); routes.MapRoute( "FooRef", "{controller}/{action}", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", foo_id = UrlParameter.Optional, bar_id = UrlParameter.Optional } ); When I use Phil Haack's route debugger, it indicates that fooref.aspx has a match, but when I turn the route debugger off, I get the error above. If I reverse the statement order, I get "Resource not found" for /ctprefer.aspx, which makes sense -- so it appears to be finding that as a valid route when put in the other order. Where do I need to declare this missing controller reference? Have routing requirements changed for ASP.NET MVC 2 RTM?

  • SAT Thread and Process output capture in c#

    Hi: This is a strange problem I encountered. I have an window application written in c# to do testing. It has a MDI parent form that is hosting a few children forms. One of the forms launch test cripts by creating processes and capture the scripts output to a text box. Another form open serial port and monitoring the status of the device I am working on(like a shell). If I ran both of them together, the output of the script seems only appear in the text box after the test is done. However, If I don't open the serial port form, the output of the script is captured in real time. Does anyone knows what's causing the problem? I notice the onDataReceived even handler for serial port form has a [SAThread] header to it. Will this cause the serial port thread having higher priority than other processes? Thanks in advance.

I'm using VB.NET for a web-application that starts some process using CreateObject, like this: Dim AVObject = CreateObject("avwin.application") After all is done everything get closed down en stopped using the proper release functions, however, for some reason the process remains. Is there some way in which I can get the process id of the started process, in order to explicitly kill it just before termination? Thanks

  • Find the "largest" dense sub matrix in a large sparse matrix

    Given a large sparse matrix (say 10k+ by 1M+) I need to find a subset, not necessarily continuous, of the rows and columns that form a dense matrix (all non-zero elements). I want this sub matrix to be as large as possible (not the largest sum, but the largest number of elements) within some aspect ratio constraints. Are there any known exact or aproxamate solutions to this problem? A quick scan on Google seems to give a lot of close-but-not-exactly results. What terms should I be looking for? edit: Just to clarify; the sub matrix need not be continuous. In fact the row and column order is completely arbitrary so adjacency is completely irrelevant. A thought based on Chad Okere's idea Order the rows from largest count to smallest count (not necessary but might help perf) Select two rows that have a "large" overlap Add all other rows that won't reduce the overlap Record that set Add whatever row reduces the overlap by the least Repeat at #3 until the result gets to small Start over at #2 with a different starting pair Continue until you decide the result is good enough
