  • xPath Groupings how?

    OK So, I'm learning/using xpath for a basic application thats effectively ripping data off another website. I need to gain the knowledge of each persons Countryy/Suburb/area. In some instances you can get Australia/Victoria/melborne for instance. Others may just be Australia/Melbourne. Or even just Melbourne OR just AUSTRALIA. who knows. So I'm current able to view the below code and rip all of the information with the string xpath search:@" //table/tr/td/tabke/tr/td/font/a, this returns every entry, but what I really want is to group each lot separately. I hope someone out there on planet earth knows what I just tried to explain... and can help...   • Why does Google's closure library not use real private members?

    I've been a JavaScript developer for a while now, and I've always thought that the correct way to implement private members in JavaScript is to use the technique outlined by Doug Crockford here: http://javascript.crockford.com/private.html. I didn't think this was a particularly controversial piece of JavaScript wisdom, until I started using the Google Closure library. Imagine my surprise... the library makes no effort to use Crockford-style information hiding. All they do is use a special naming convention and note "private" members in the documentation. I'm in the habit of assuming that the guys at Google are usually on the leading edge of software quality, so what gives? Is there some downside to following Mr. Crockford's advice that's not obvious?

  • Does the android market use your merchant API callback URL during the Google checkout process for pa

    If I have a paid app on Android Market, will my merchant API callback URL get a hit when the customer goes to check out? I am wondering how merchants/vendors/developers secure their applications for android market. I have used google checkout before to implement a custom integration, so I understand how that all works. What I do not see anywhere that I have looked is what, if any, integration does the merchant/developer have with the Android Market checkout process? I understand that the market uses google checkout, but in that case the market hosts the checkout process and not the merchant, so it's not clear whether they give your URL a call. So where is the hook? Am I right in assuming it is the merchant API callback URL?

  • Is there a way to add an elmah rss feed to google reader?

    Elmah has an rss feed and rss digest feature. My feeds are working just fine from within my brwoser. However I would like to add them to google reader as this is my feed reader of choice. The problem is that Elmah uses an AXD handler to server its information - therefore the path to the RSS feed is not a physical one. For example the RSS feed for my site is located at: http://www.mysite.com/errors/elmah.axd/rss This is not a file nor does the folder structure exist - it is all part of the beauty of Elmah. When I attempt to add this virtual path as a feed in google reader i get: Your search did not match any feeds Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Jason

  • Worth it to use jQuery UI hosted by Google?

    Hi So I heard good reasons why to use the jquery hosted on google because of caching. But I am not sure about jQuery UI though. I am guessing that the jQuery UI file hosted on google has every single extension and plugin (such as Draggable, etc). So is that not kind of a waste if say your only using only jQuery UI tabs? to get all that other stuff with it. Also I see they have some of the templates up for the css files. I am guessing the caching would be the main advantage of using the hosted file.

    I'm not familiar with Google Analytics but I think you can use it to see how many people get to your site using different search strings. But if you don't yet have the site, can you simply ask Google how popular a search is? For instance say you're choosing a new product name/slogan/etc. First of all, you want to see if that is already very crowded, which is easy through just Googling it. But now you might want to see if anyone is actually searching for this... an ideal situation would be to find a search-string lots of people are using, which doesn't put your competitors on the #1 spot. Is this possible? Not exactly programming-related, but closely related to web-development IMO... please vote to close if you disagree, I won't be offended!

Modeling is never easy, so to succeed on this effort, it is very convenient that your CX´s team have some “abstract thinking” skills. Besides is very helpful to consult a Business Service Design offered by an Interactive Agency to lead your inception process. Initially, you may start by a free discussion using post-it cards; storyboards; even lego or any other brainstorming technique you like. This will help you to get your mind into the path followed by the customer to purchase your product or to consume any business service you actually offer to your customers, or plan to offer in the near future. Some Mind Maps software providers as ThinkBuzzan provide trial versions, and you will find more mindmapping options on this post by Mashable. Finally to produce a quick one, I do recommend Wise, an entirely online mindmaping service. On my view the best results in terms of communication will always come for an artistic hand-made drawing. Customer Experience Mind Map Example Making your first Customer Journey Map To add some more formalization to your thoughts, there is a wide offering for designing Customer Journey Maps.     Location was the first "killer-tech" for smartphones, and innovators have found several ways to use it. For retail, apps exist to find nearby stores, provide coupons, and give directions to the front door. But once you enter the store, location-finding ceases to work. That's because your location is usually found by finding GPS satellites in they sky, and the store's roof blocks the signal. But it won't take technology long to solve that problem. The first problem to solve is a lack of indoor maps. Navteq and others provide very accurate maps of the outdoors, enabling navigation for cars and pedestrians. Micello is building a business creating digital maps of indoor locations like malls, convention centers, office buildings. They have over 500 live maps, including maps of IKEA stores. They claim it took them only four hours to create a map of the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto with its 1.4 million square feet and 140 retail stores. And within stores, retailers are producing more accurate plan-o-grams. I'm always impressed watching demos of our space planning from AVT. It uses CAD software to allow you to walk the virtual store and see products on the shelves. The second problem is being able to determine location inside the store so it can be overlayed on the map. There are several goals for this endeavor. Your smartphone might direct you straight to particular products, it might summon a sales associate to your location for immediate assistance, and it might send you coupons based on the aisle you're viewing. Companies like Nearbuy, ZuluTime, and Skyhook are working to master indoor location using a combination of GPS signals, WiFi, and cell tower positioning to calculate a location. (Skyhook calls this WPS, as depicted in the chart.) Today they can usually hit 10 meters accuracy, but that number is improving all the time. When it gets inside 3 meters some the goals mentioned earlier will be in easy reach. I for one can't wait until the time my iPhone leads me directly to the sprinkler heads in Lowes and Home Depot.

    I have a bug in a Linux kernel module that causes the stock Ubuntu 14.04 kernel to oops (crash). That is why I want to edit/patch the source of only that single kernel module to add some extra debug output. The kernel module in question is mvsas and not necessary to boot. For that reason I don't see any need to update any initrd images. I have read a lot of information (as shown below) and find the setup and build process confusion.   • Why are my Google and Bing search result pages locking up?

    I've got some really weird behavior going on. I can't do any web searching using Google or Bing because when the search result page shows up, every single link on the page is completely unresponsive. That is, every link to a search result. The links to page functions other than search results work fine. This happens in both IE9 and FF13. It doesn't happen to Yahoo! results, though. Any ideas?

  • How to report a malicious site to Google, Microsoft, Mozilla, etc. so that they will warn users

    I completed a project a year ago. Now a few modification were needed. While trying to test the site, there was an index.html file with a malicious script which had an iframe to another site's jar file. Kaspersky antivirus blocked it. I browsed via ftp to find the file and I deleted it. I also disabled directory listing. Maybe the ftp details of the site owner would have been hacked. I want to report this site to Google, Microsoft, Mozilla, and other antivirus providers. How do I do that? I hope kaspersky would have updated it in their database, but I still want to explicitly report this. Here is the popup kaspersky showed:
