    I have an Array in PHP which contains data from database. And it prints out also as a table in the same page which has an AJAX delete function. Trying to explain better The array contains debt sums related to many people, it is the application's main function. In the same page, there is a table containing every debt record related to the array, which can be deleted or edited using AJAX. I have coded the part of deleting the record and removing the TR entry, but it's not enough: I'd like to change also the debt sum using AJAX which is an PHP Array.   • How do I secure password parameters in RESTful web service URIs?

    i'm a newbie to server-side programming, so please forgive me if this gets messy. i've been contracted to create a web service to allow authenticated users to access a database. users have to enter a login and password. been reading and reading about REST vs SOAP, and i thought i'd settled on a RESTful design when i came across this statement: "Data that needs to be secure should not be sent as parameters in URIs." this seems like a major demerit against a RESTful approach. i'm aware that with https the password would be encrypted to prevent man-in-the-middle interception, but that leaves the server logs and client history as possible exposure points. is there a RESTful solution out there for this problem, or do i need to go SOAPy? any advice appreciated.

    I am creating 4 asp.net pages. first three pages have 'CONTINUE' button and last page has 'SUBMIT' button. I am not allowed to use Sessions to store first three pages data. and i need to use 'BACK' button on last three pages. when i click 'BACK' button i need to maintain the previous page data entered by user. As my pages do some postbacks, i cannot use javascript.history function. My restrictions are: As the application is served from a web farm, a session object cannot be used. However, for the purpose of this excersise, consider session object as database-like persistent space where you can store your data. your code should show an easy way to switch to a different persistent space. What is databse like persistent space and how to write a code to switch to different persistent space?... Please give me some idea on how to proceed.... Thank you

  • Why doesn't Java allow for the creaton of generic arrays?

    There are plenty of questions on stackoverflow from people who have attempted to create an array of generics like so: ArrayList<Foo>[] poo = new ArrayList<Foo>[5]; And the answer of course is that the Java specification doesn't allow you to declare an array of generics. My question however is why ? What is the technical reason underlying this restriction in the java language or java vm? It's a technical curiosity I've always wondered about.

  • Detecting support for a given JavaScript event?

    I'm interested in using the JavaScript hashchange event to monitor changes in the URL's fragment identifier. I'm aware of Really Simple History and the jQuery plugins for this. However, I've reached the conclusion that in my particular project it's not really worth the added overhead of another JS file. What I would like to do instead is take the "progressive enhancement" route. That is, I want to test whether the hashchange event is supported by the visitor's browser, and write my code to use it if it's available, as an enhancement rather than a core feature. IE 8, Firefox 3.6, and Chrome 4.1.249 support it, and that accounts for about 20% of my site's traffic. So, uh ... is there some way to test whether a browser supports a particular event? Thanks.

    After peeking at the SO source, I noticed this tag: <link rel="apple-itouch-icon" href="/apple-touch-icon.png" /> Which after a quick Google revealed an Apple "favicon" type thing for display on your homepage ("WebClip Bookmark" to be exact). The only other one that jumps to mind is the: <input type="search" results="5"/> This type="search" causes the field to "inherit" the Apple search icon, and the optional results="x" enables a history of "x" keywords to be maintained. I'm therefore wondering, what other Apple/Safari (iPhone/iPod Touch) specific HTML tags and attributes are out there that I'm not aware of! Curious minds need to know!

Is there an equivalent style for the web? I mean, with a predefined list of widgets that can be defined using a markup language and then control them using code?   • How do I "merge" two separate git repositories of the same website without losing commit data?

    I have two separate git repositories for the same version of a single website. domain.com-1.0 domain.com-2.0 Version 2.0 was completely redone from the ground up. There is no bridge between the two repositories. I would now like to merge the two into a single repository, but maintain the separation. I have already tagged domain.com-1.0 in it's repo and now want to clean the working tree and move domain-2.0 and all it's commit history into 1.0's repo. Is this possible or is there a better way of accomplishing this? Note: domain.com-1.0 will not be developed on anymore and is "being retired".

However, I am instructed not to use binding sources for the connection or other drag and drop controls.     I imagine that there are different combination, just looking for an affirmation. Or, are we developers really that english-centric? If I were in japan, using a word processor on some computer, would ctrl-s save? Are there keyboards where ctrl-s doesn't even exist (non-english keyboards)? Most of what I've seen usually has latin + [insert language here] characters, usually overridden on the normal qwerty keyboard.

    I want to create a simple script that tags the latest revision to the tags folder, for example: for Trunk directory head revision 114, it will create a tag of this directory to the Tags directory which goes by the name "r114". I don't really care of what scripting language it'll use (as long as it runs on windows). I tried creating such script using SVN CLI tool, but it failed connecting to a SSL repository. How can I achieve that?
