• How to recognize the touch of a non regular sprite image ?

  I have a sprite and if it is touched the touch should be recognized. I used the coordinates to do so. I took the coordinates (min x, min y, max x , max y)of the sprite image. But The sprite image is not a rectangular shape. So, even if I touch the coordinates outside the sprite and inside the rectangular bounds the sprite is recognized. But for my application I need only the sprite to be recognized. So, I have to take only the coordinates of the sprite, but it is not regular shape. I am using CCSprite in my program. So, what can I do to for only the sprite to be selected ? Which classes should use for this? Thank You.

  I have a form with 20 input fields. Each input field is inside a DIV I have a script that changes the background color of the DIV via keyup function along with two other DIV tags. • Converting a jQuery plugin to work on all objects, not just the DOM

  I am using the jQuery physics plugin for a pet project I am working on. The plugin enables the moving of DOM objects in realistic ways using velocity, gravity, wind etc. However I want to use the plugin to calculate where objects are to be placed inside a canvas element, not DOM object. How do I change the plugin script to work for ANY object with 'top' and 'left' properties rather than only working with DOM objects found with a jQuery selector? • Image surrounded by text in WPF

  Greetings, I have some control which display bunch of textblocks and image. I would like the image to be surrounded by text. I have already implemented some functionality by using FlowDocument and custom bindable run control. (These controls are included inside user control). When I generate lots of these controls in treeview, application goes into infinite loop. I asked on forums before about this problem and the answer was that it can be WPF issue. Howver when I removed bindable run from my user control, problem dissappeared. Now I am trying to implement other solution where image will be surrounded by text. Can someone please help me? EDIT: Generally i would like to achieve something like this

• Does Flickr "Know" if a Hotlinked Image Does Not Link Back to Source?

  From Flickr's community guidelines: "Do link back to Flickr when you post your photos elsewhere. The Flickr service makes it possible to post images hosted on Flickr to outside web sites. However, pages on other web sites that display images hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo back to its photo page on Flickr." Our company currently allows image hotlinking for user-uploaded images. It turns out that this has been more popular than we had expected, and I would like to capitalize on this if possible. We will be altering the guidelines to include a clause similar to Flickr's, quoted above. As hotlinking costs us, both in terms of server load and bandwidth, we would like to get at least something out of it, other than merely a warm feeling inside. My question: Does Flickr "know" if a hotlinked image does not link back to its source? Bonus: if Flickr knows, how?

The number of instances of "(lion)" that should be in the cookie is determined by the "qty" GET parameter's value. So for example if the pages url is: http://site.com/script.php?qty=10 then the value of the cookie should be: (lion)(lion)(lion)(lion)(lion)(lion)(lion)(lion)(lion)(lion) but now it just sets the value once despite the setcookie function being inside the loop, why isn't it working?

• Issue with UITextView in an animation block

  I'm having an issue with a UITextView inside another UIView whose frame is manipulated in an animation block when the keyboard displays. During the animation block the UIView scales beautifully and as expected, but the UITextView jumps out of it's superview(the UIView being animated) at the start of the animation. By the end of the animation, the UITextView ends up in the right place... what gives? Can anybody explain why the UITextView is jumping out of it's container view at the start of the animation?   I retrieve a USB flash drive serial number by means of ioctl HDIO_GET_IDENTITY as described here. Yet, for some flash drives there is no serial (for example my SanDisk Cruzer). Why some drives don not return a serial number? a) HDIO_GET_IDENTITY not implemented in driver ? b) They just don't have one ? c) Other ? (what?) Is there a specification (like IEEE) that describes where and how the serial number is stored inside the flash drive?

• C# progress bar not synced with download (WebClient class)

  Hi, I am coding a system which has a small FTP module included inside, it's not the main feature at all, but needed... I must link the progressbar with the WebClient class event DownloadProgressChangedEventHandler and AsyncCompletedEventHandler, the progressbar increment is ok, and the ASyncCompletedEventHandler launch a MessageBox (as intended), the problem is that the progress bar see to load too slow... problem : My MessageBox pop at 100% (launched by the event handler), BUT when the MessageBox pop my progress bar is only at +-80% (but the .VALUE is really 100), the first though I had was that they have added a "smooth" effect in Windows Vista which slow down the progressbar relatively to it's true value. If any of you have experienced the same problem thanks for your help.

  Is VS2010, I analyzed my code and got this error: Warning 64 CA1050 : Microsoft.Design : 'ApplicationVariables' should be declared inside a namespace. C:\My\Code\BESI\BESI\App_Code\ApplicationVariables.vb 10 C:\...\BESI\ Here is some reference info on the error. Essentially, I tried to create a class to be used to access data in the Application object in a typed way. The warning message said unless I put my (ApplicationVariables) class in a Namespace, that I wouldn't be able to use it. But I am using it, so what gives? Also, here is a link to another StackOverflow article that talks about how to disable this warning in VS2008, but how would you disable it for 2010? There is no GlobalSuppressions.vb file for VS2010. • How to return the handle of a window when we click on it, without any DLL injection?

  Hello! For one of my projects, I need to create a function that will return a handle to a window when the user click on it (any window displayed on screen, and anywhere inside that window). I know it is possible to use a global hook, but I think there must be a more simple way of doing that, without using any DLL injection. In fact, I could intercept the left mouse click or intercept when a window is activated. Can I use one of those 2 solutions without any DLL injection?

• What is the best solution to do Reporting on Object data for .NET ?

  Hi, Our projects are using objects as the data source to reports. Our business layer is returning single objects or IEnumerable. Our reports (quite complex) need to display value-type properties of the object, and its related objects. Typical case would be, from a List, display a master report with category data, then a subreport with data for each Product inside each Category, then a subreport for each Part of each Product, and so on. Reporting from the database is not an option for us. We have tried so far - Reporting Services : works but have to mess around with the XML definition of the report to define the datasource classes, very hard to work with if you use an object datasource, architecturally not too clean - Telerik Reports : quite nice (esp., nice architecture) but seems to have problems with complex reports (master/sub), does not give great paging control, rumored to have performance/crash problems (immature product). Does anyone know a good reporting solution that can be integrated in an ASP.NET application and works well with objects as datasources ?

  If I have 2 synchronized methods in the same class, but each accessing different variables, can 2 threads access those 2 methods at the same time? Does the lock occur on the object, or does it get as specific as the variables inside the synchronized method? • Can you use Github App with Beanstalk?

  Being new to Git, I wanted to use a GUI (Windows based) and preferred the Github App. However, I would like to integrate this site with a Beanstalkapp account. I'm pretty sure this is possible, but I can't figure it out. Inside of the Github app, I navigate to my repository. When I choose "Tools Settings...", I place the Git Clone URL for the repository provided by Beanstalk into the "Primary Remote (origin)" field in my Github app. Now when I click "Publish" (which says "Click to publish this branch to server" when I hover over it) it changes to "Publishing...". After a few seconds, I get this error: server failure The remote server disconnected. Try again later, or if this persists, contact [email protected] I am pretty sure I set the SSH keys up properly (never done this before). I added the key to both the Beanstalkapp and my Github web account.

• Scrapped HTML does not written at the beginning of text file.

  Currently, I'm scraping the HTML code of a page, and write it to a txt file. My problem is, why there must be empty spaces or empty lines at the beginning? The HTML codes written to the txt file, seems does not start at the beginning of the txt file. Means, the '<' does not located at the position 0 of the txt file. After a few runs, my HTML is always written a few lines down inside the txt file. Can anyone tell me why : )

• Positioning elements outside an Activity on Android

  Is there a way to absolutely position an UI element on Android so that it is located outside an Activity? For example: can you create a fullscreen ImageView simply by moving/resizing an ImageView inside an existing regular Activity instead of creating a new fullscreen activity? EDIT: Re-reading my question I see I wasn't very clear about what I'm trying to accomplish. I'd like to temporarily extend an element to cover the notification bar at the top of the screen. I need to create a semitranslucent fullscreen overlay but since translucent activities cannot cover the notification bar I'm trying to find out if it's possible for an element to break out of activity's bounds and resize itself to fill the whole screen, top to bottom.

• htaccess/htpasswd in hierarchical folder structure

  I have a folder (folder_1) that is protected by htaccess/htpasswd files. Inside that folder is another folder (folder_2) that is protected by another couple of htaccess/htpasswd files. When a php-script in folder_1 or folder_2 is called, the user has to authenticate herself using the correct username and password as specified in the respective htaccess/htpasswd files. This works as intended. However, as soon as the php-script in folder_2 tries to refer to another script or a css-file that is located in folder_1, the user must enter username and password for folder_1 as well. Is there a way to avoid this that does not involve copying scripts and css-files from folder_1 to folder_2? Regards, Ralf

  I am using MVVM. I have a tab control. I will have a collection of items. I want to display each of this item in the collection as a tab item. The view in each tab item is different and may have its own viewmodel. How do I achieve this? E.g. I have 3 items in the collection. The Tab item template contains an ItemControl. I would like to now have 3 Tabs created and the ItemControls inside each tabitem may be showing different views. One way I could do is have a single view and viewmodel for each item. Now based on some condition the View will display different UI elements and behave differently. But I am afraide this will make the view quite complex over a period of time.

  I'm trying to use a regular expression to capture the contents of all option values inside an HTML select element For example, in: <select name="test"> <option value="blah">one</option> <option value="mehh">two</option> <option value="rawr">three</option> </select> I'd like to capture one two and three into an array. My current code is var pages = responseDetails.responseText.match(/<select name="page" .+?>(?:\s*<option .+?>([^<]+)<\/option>)+\s*<\/select>/); for (var c = 0; c<pages.length; c++) { alert(pages[c]); } But it only captures the last value, in this case, "three".
