  • How to send HTML as GET-Request parameter?

    I would like to send a html string with a GET request like this with Apaches HttpClient: http://sample.com/?html=<html><head>... This doesnt work at the moment, i think its an encoding problem. Do you have any ideas how to do that? method.setQueryString(new NameValuePair[] {new NameValuePair("report", "<html>....")}); client.executeMethod(method) This fails with org.apache.commons.httpclient.NoHttpResponseException: The server localhost failed to respond. If i replace "<html>" by "test.." it works fine. EDIT It seams to be a problem of URL length after encoding, the server doesnt except such long URls. Sending it as POST solves the problem.

  • PHP Zip Archive sporadically creating multiple files

    I have a PHP script (running PHP 5.2 on Apache 2.2) that creates a zip archive of files for a user to download. Everything seems to work just fine; the only issue I have is that periodically multiple files will be created before the ZIP archive is successfully finished. Example: archive-name.zip archive-name.zip.a09600 archive-name.zip.b09600 archive-name.zip.c09600 This does not happen every single time; only periodically - the file is still created but sometimes these extra 'files' are left on the server after it finishes. The code that creates the ZIP archive is as follows: $zip_archive = new ZipArchive(); $zip_archive->open($archiveFullName,ZIPARCHIVE::CREATE); if(!file_exists($archiveFullName)) { foreach ($completed_file_arr as $zip_file) { $isFiller = substr($zip_file,-8) == "_err.txt"; if(!$isFiller) { $zip_archive->addFile($zip_file,$localname); } else $zip_archive->addFromString ($zip_file, "The requested source file could not be found."); } } while(!$zip_archive->close()) sleep(1); //ensure that the ZIP file finishes closing

  • WAMP & WordPress - Having issues after installing plugins

    I am using WAMP (Apache 2.2.17, PHP 5.4.3) & WordPress 3.4.2. Everything was fine until I started to add and activate plugins now I get different sort of errors on the front-end/Admin e.g. "Notice: Undefined index: plugin_version in C:\repo\wpdev\wp-content\plugins\wp-rss-multi-importer\inc\upgrade.php on line 11" And "Warning: Illegal string offset 'feedslug' in C:\repo\wpdev\wp-content\plugins\wp-rss-multi-importer\inc\rss_feed.php on line 21." IF I deactivate the plugins everything seems to be fine. I have installed WAMP & WP 2X. The plugins work fine on MediaTemple. The error messages vary depending on the plugins. Search Google and came up empty. Thanks in advance.

  • What do I use for a J2ee website?

    Not sure if I asked this correctly. I am trying to see what I need to create an website that uses MVC and that connects to legacy multiple databases, brining back those database info into one page. I wanted the site to be MVC but am not sure where to begin. Do I use Spring? What do I use for an server? Jboss and apache? Hibernate? I'm just kind of lost on how to proceed. It's not a straight forward a asp.net mvc or a php framwork. A major concern is the collection of data from multiple legacy databases and bringing that data back into one page. Thanks.

  • Documentation for installing and running hadoop 2.2 on Windows

    With the latest release of Hadoop 2.2 I see that the release notes mentions that this version has significant improvements for running Hadoop on Windows. I downloaded Hadoop 2.2 yesterday and I saw lot of .cmd file alon with .sh files which ensures that this version has scripts and batch files for running Hadoop on Windows environment. However while looking at the Apache Hadoop documentation I couldn't find any step-by-step instructions on how to install and run this newer version on Windows. Besides this it looks like that the newer version has YARN architecture embedded in it and the old configurations provided on some of the tutorials online may be outdated and not applicable anymore. Is there any good documentation for Hadoop 2.2 available online ? I want it specifically for running Hadoop under Windows.

    I've googled around and only found solution where they suggest putting an apache httpd in front of glassfish. Sure, that works. But what if I do not wish to/cannot put any thing in front of glassfish? Without using the index.jsp in the docroot of the domain to have something like: <% String redirectURL = "http://stackoverflow.com/"; response.sendRedirect(redirectURL); %> Can I make browser to be redirected when I point it to: http://my.glassfish.domain/ ?

  • web-development: how do you usually handle the "under costruction" page"?

    hi, I was wondering what's the best way to switch a website to a temporary "under costruction" page and switch it back to the new version. For example, in a website, my customer decided to switch from Joomla to Drupal and I had to create a subfolder for the new CMS, and then move all the content to the root folder. 1) Moving all the content back to the root folder always create some problems with file permissions, links, etc... 2) Creating a rewrite rule in .htaccess or forward with php is not a solution because another url is shown including the top folder. 3) Many host services do not allow to change the root directory, so this is not an option since I don't have access to apache config file.     I am working with Tomcat 5.5.x with Struts 1.2 to run a rather large website (large w.r.t. source code). I'm looking to add OpenID to my website, mostly to access attribute exchange to help accelerate the registration process. Every Java implementation for OpenID I have attempted to use will cause a ServletException. Tracing this has been very difficult, but it seems merely instancing any class that makes use of Apache HttpClient will cause the crash. Is this a configuration problem I can address in the JVM, or is it positively wrong to try to initiate an outbound Http request from within an inbound Http request?

  • Setting cookie for site in http and https under different subdomains in PHP

    Situation: 1. I'm trying run an https store(xcart) under one domain secure.mydomain and I want to have access to a cookie it sets in http www.mydomain 2. I'm Running PHP on apache(MAMP), testing in firefox with firecookie 3. The existing code sets cookies to .secure.mydomain. I'm not sure if this is xcart related, but setcookie is actually called using secure.mydomain. I'm not sure why the "." is appended. Problems: 1. When I try to use setcookie in https to use the domain .mydomain or just mydomain, no cookie is created, whether I'm running the store under http or https. The testing code I'm using is: setcookie('three', 'two', 0, "/", ".mydomain"); If I set the cookie to secure.mydomain or .secure.mydomain it does show up. Is there a reason the cookie isn't showing up?

    I am in the process of creating a website/phone application using JQuery Mobile and PhoneGap. I am hoping to add openID support so users can login in with pre-existing accounts. It will be necessary for me to have a database with a few tables to enable me to implement all the core functionality I desire. I haven't really had much experience with frameworks before, the closest thing I have done to this is create a basic website using php that connected to a MySql database stored on the machine that hosted the apache webserver. The interaction with the database won't be complex. I am required to use a java framework for the backend of my application. My question is which java framework is most suitable (flexible and straight forward to learn)? Any advice you guys can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    I am a newbie who is trying to create a Facebook app using PHP and Facebook's PHP SDK. The app is hosted on Heroku, and the sample app that they provided is working fine. However, I am now trying to get the sample app to work on Apache 2.2, and I have encountered a lot of problems along the way. Well, straight to the point, my latest problem will be trying to do Facebook login on localhost, but the 'An error occurred. Please try later' appears on the popup dialog. This does not happen on Heroku. Will someone please enlighten me on if there's any steps that I can take to overcome this error? I don't think it got to do with any coding error since I am just following the provided sample app. Thanks!

  • FTP: check whether file is closed

    Hello! My FTP client (apache commons ftpclient) needs to download file from FTP. The problem is that an external service may not have finished writing to this file before I start downloading. Is there any way to determine via FTP whether the file is already closed (i.e. there is no writing handlers opened)? The problem is that I cannot synchronize with that external service. But I mustn't download file which is not finished yet (a large JPEG). Thanks in advance!

    Hey there, I just installed XAMPP lite on Windows 7. I have two drives - C: for the OS and regular files, and an external drive E:. I installed XAMPP lite on E: (on the root), and its been giving me problems. Apache works well enough, but MySQL doesn't work. When I go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin/, it gives me the following error: Error MySQL said: #2003 - Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) Connection for controluser as defined in your configuration failed. Any ideas as to what could be the problem? I used the zip file for XAMPP lite, the 32 bit version. This is on Windows 7 Home premium. Thanks!

  • Sometimes when visiting a php page, the browser asks me to download the .php file with nothing in it

    I've noticed an unusual problem with some of my php programs. Sometimes when visiting a page like profile.edit.php, the browser throws a dialogue box asking to download profile.edit.php page. When I download it, there's nothing in the file. profile.edit.php is supposed to be a web form that edits user information. I've noticed this on some of my other php pages as well. I look in my apache error logs, but don't see any errors. How do i figure out why this is happening?

  • Facebook iframe app redirecting https to http, how?

    I'm trying to get an app working within Facebook, but it seems that no matter what I try including forcing just https in the app settings (see screen shot), the iframe source (Facebooks canvas) seems to change the https address to http (301) which is then producing SEC7111: HTTPS security errors in IE?     I am creating a small web page using PHP that will be accessed as an IFRAME from a couple of sites. I'm wanting to restrict access to this site to work ONLY within the "approved" sites, and not other sites or accessed directly. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this even possible? The PHP site will be Apache, and the sites iframing the content will probably be .NET. Just to clarify, any site can view the page, as long as it's iframe'd within an approved site. I want to block people from accessing it directly. I'm thinking cookies might be a solution, but I'm not sure.

To this, I've given some thought,searched over the internet and came up with the idea of implementing some basic knowledge mining algorithms say on a social websites like Facebook or may stckoverflow, Quora etc and draw some statistical graphs, comparisons frequency distributions and other sort of important values.For searching purpose would it be wise to use Apache Solr ? I want know If such thing is feasible using the above mentioned tools, if so how should I build up on this little idea? Where can I learn about knowledge mining algorithms which are easy to implement using java and map reduce techniques? In case this is a wrong idea please suggest what else can otherwise be done on using Hadoop and other related sub-projects? Thank you

  • setfsuid() and python 2.5.4

    Hi, I'm trying to use setfsuid() with python 2.5.4 and RHEL 5.4. Since it's not included in the os module, I wrapped it in a C module of my own and installed it as a python extension module using distutils. However when I try to use it I don't get the expected result. setfsuid() returns value indicating success (changing from a superuser), but I can't access files to which only the newly set user should have user access (using open()), indicating that fsuid was not truely changed. I tried to verify setfsuid() worked, by running it consecutively twice with the same user input The result was as if nothing had changed, and on every call the returned value was of old user id different from the new one. I also called getpid() from the module, and from the python script, both returned the same id. so this is not the problem. Just in case it's significant, I should note that I'm doing all of this from within an Apache daemon process (WSGI). Anyone can provide an explanation to that? Thank you

I have read svnbook and other sites and found file:/// access method is being used to checkout as svn checkout file:///var/svn/repos/myproject/trunk myproject ( ref:svnbook) I am little confused! As svnbook also says "Clients contact an svnserve server by using URLs that begin with the svn://" So, my question is, which method user will use to create their working copy? Thankyou. Banani

The front-end (Java + Tomcat + Apache) communicates to the back-end (proprietary system written in a COBOL-like language) through SOAP web services. As a result, we pass large XML files back and forth. We believe that this architecture has a significant impact on performance due to the large overhead of XML transportation and parsing.     Hiho, There's an existing website that i need to include into another site which goes like this: a.mysite.com and i need to fetch content from this site in my www.mysite.com website... As i need to access the content of the iframe the Same origin policy produces a problem here. What i did was to configure mod_proxy on Apache to proxy pass all requests from www.mysite.com/a to a.mysite.com This will work fine...but my problem is that im not sure what the best way would be to include those pages. 1. Idea As the content of the iframe is a full featured site with a top navigation...left navigation etc....i would need to change the page template to only show the content box to be able to integrate that page in the iframe. 2. Idea I could just load the DIV where the content lies through JQuery.load() and integrate it into my site. What is the best way to accomplish such a task? How bad is both ideas from the SEO point of view?
