  Hi, How can I do long-polling using netty framework? Say for example I fetch http://localhost/waitforx but waitforx is asynchronous because it has to wait for an event? Say for example it fetches something from a blocking queue(can only fetch when data in queue). When getting item from queue I would like to sent data back to client. Hopefully somebody can give me some tips how to do this. Many thanks

• Visual Studio 2008 marks solution files as version 10.00

  Hi After trying out VS2010b2 also my VS2008 installation changes the versions of solution and project files to "Version 10.00". The MSBuild.exe on our CI Server does not support them. Is there a way to make VS2008 generate sln files with version number 9.00 again? I know, i can fix that manually. But each time I open a solution, the version gets changed back, which is annoying.   Say I've got the following data back from a SQL query: Lastname Firstname Age Anderson Jane 28 Anderson Lisa 22 Anderson Jack 37 If I want to know the age of the oldest person with the last name Anderson, I can select MAX(Age) and GROUP BY Lastname. But I also want to know the first name of that oldest person. How can I make sure that, when the Firstname values are collapsed into one row by the GROUP BY, I get the Firstname value from the same row where I got the max age?

  The default git diff behavior is to open each diff file in serial (wait for previous file to be closed before opening next file). I'm looking for a way to open all the files at once - in BeyondCompare for example this would open all the files in tabs within the same BC window. This would make it easier to review a complex set of changes; flick back and forwards between the diff files and ignore unimportant files.

What I am trying to do is: SELECT id, foo(id) AS 'text field' FROM a However, instead of calling the function for each ID number, like I desired, the text comes back the same for every row. I have tested the foo() function manually with the returned ID's and it does not have that problem, so I realize I must not understand something about the evaluation of the query.

• Can I perform animations on a UIControl subclass with iPhone SDK 3.x?

  I have a custom UIControl that passes UIControlEventValueChanged events back to my ViewController. I also need to animate it (basic resizing) in certain circumstances, but UIControl seems to have no implementation of beginAnimations or commitAnimations. Do I have to encase it in a UIView? I have problems when my modal view is presented in the vertical orientation, but dismissed in horizontal orientation. The entire app switches back to vertical orientation automatically.
