• Overfocus in GridView

  I'm trying to implement a GridView that Focuses the next Item and "Overscrolls at the End of a List. E.g. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 I want to scroll 1 2 3 4 5 6 ... just by pressing the right Key. Right now I can only Scroll 1 2 3 and then it stops and I have to scroll with the down Key. I already tried to set the focusViews in code (In the getView() method of my ArrayList Adapter, that fills the GridView) view.setId(position); view.setNextFocusLeftId(position-1); view.setNextFocusRightId(position+1); But that doesn't work. I found the boolean *Scroll(int direction) Methods on grepcode But theese are Package Local and I can't overwrite them. Any suggestions on how to solve this. Can I use another View and get the same Layout as a Gridview? I also set a OnFocusChangeListener to see what happens with no reaction. • SQL Design Question regarding schema and if Name value pair is the best solution

  I am having a small problem trying to decide on database schema for a current project. I am by no means a DBA. The application parses through a file based on user input and enters that data in the database. The number of fields that can be parsed is between 1 and 42 at the current moment. The current design of the database is entirely flat with there being 42 columns; some have repeated columns such as address1, address2, address3, etc... This says that I should normalize the data. However, data integrity is not needed at this moment and the way the data is shaped I'm looking at several joins. Not a bad thing but the data is still in a 1 to 1 relationship and I still see a lot of empty fields per row. So my concerns are that this does not allow the database or the application to be very extendable. If they want to add more fields to be parsed (which they do) than I'd need to create another table and add another foreign key to the linking table. The third option is I have a table where the fields are defined and a table for each record. So what I was thinking is to make a table that stores the value and then links to those two tables. The problem is I can picture the size of that table growing large depending on the input size. If someone gives me a file with 300,000 records than 300,000 x 40 = 12 million so I have some reservations. However I think if I get to that point than I should be happy it is being used. This option also allows for more custom displaying of information albeit a bit more work but little rework even if you add more fields. So the problem boils down to: 1. Current design is a flat file which makes extending it hard and it is not normalized. 2. Normalize the tables although no real benefits for the moment but requirements change. 3. Normalize it down into the name value pair and hope size doesn't hurt. There are a large number of inserts, updates, and selects against that table. So performance is a worry but I believe the saying is design now, performance testing later? I'm probably just missing something practical so any comments would be appreciated even if it’s a quick sanity check. Thank you for your time.

HEIGHT)) The posn- functions access elements of such lists. ok, now I've got a function that looks something like this: (defun my-move-and-popup-menu () "move the point, then pop up a menu." (goto-char xxxx) (setq p (posn-at-point)) (my-popup-menu p ...) ) Basically, move the point, then retrieve the screen position at that point, and then popup a menu at that screen position. But I am finding that posn-at-point returns non-nil, only if the xxxx character position (the after position) is visible in the window, before the call to goto-char. It seems that the position is not actually updated until exit from the function. If goto-char goes a long way, more than one screenful, then the retrieved position is always nil, and my code doesn't know where to popup the menu. The reason I suggest that the position is not actually updated until exit from the function - when the menu successfully pops up, the cursor is clearly visible in its previous location while the popup menu is being displayed. When I dismiss the menu, the cursor moves to where I expected it to move, after the goto-char call. How can I get the position to be really updated, between goto-char and posn-at-point, so that posn-at-point will not return nil? In a Windows Forms application I would call Form.Update() or something similar to update the display in the middle of an event handler. What's the emacs version of that?

• Grid View Button Passing Data Via On Click

  Hi, I'm pretty new to C# and asp.net so aplogies if this is a really stupid question. I'm using a grid view to display a number of records from a database. Each row has an Edit Button. When the button is clicked I want an ID to be passed back to a funtion in my .cs file. How do I bind the rowID to the Button field?   New to R, and I have a long-ish question: I have a shapefile/map, and I'm aiming to calculate a certain index for every polygon in that map, based on attributes of that polygon and each polygon that neighbors it. I have an adjacency matrix -- which I think is the same as a "1st-order queen contiguity weights matrix", although I'm not sure -- that describes which polygons border which other polygons, e.g., POLYID A B C D E A 0 0 1 0 1 B 0 0 1 0 0 C 1 1 0 1 0 D 0 0 1 0 1 E 1 0 0 1 0 The above indicates, for instance, that polygons 'C' and 'E' adjoin polygon 'A'; polygon 'B' adjoins only polygon 'C', etc. The attribute table I have has one polygon per row: POLYID TOT L10K 10_15K 15_20K ... A 500 24 30 77 ... Where TOT, L10K, etc. are the variables I use to calculate an index. There are 525 polygons/rows in my data, so I'd like to use the adjacency matrix to determine which rows' attributes to incorporate into the calculation of the index of interest. For now, I can calculate the index when I subset the rows that correspond to one 'bundle' of neighboring polygons, and then use a loop (if it's of interest, I'm calculating the Centile Gap Index, a measure of local income segregation). • Getting jQuery to recognise .change() in IE

  I'm using jQuery to hide and show elements when a radio button group is altered/clicked. It works fine in browsers like Firefox, but in IE 6 and 7, the action only occurs when the user then clicks somewhere else on the page. To elaborate, when you load the page, everything looks fine. In Firefox, if you click a radio button, one table row is hidden and the other one is shown immediately. However, in IE 6 and 7, you click the radio button and nothing will happen until you click somewhere on the page. Only then does IE redraw the page, hiding and showing the relevant elements. • Is it possible to use CSS to align these divs/spans in a table-like manner? (While still retaining continuity)

For example: E B C#m A Just a small-town girl living in a lonely world (There will often be cases where an empty chord block is matched up to non-empty lyric block, and vice-versa.) I'm completely new to using CSS to align things, and have had no real understanding/experience of CSS aside from changing background colors and link styles. Is this possible in CSS? If not, how could the div/class nesting structure be revised to make this possible? I could change the spans to divs if necessary. Some things I cannot use: I can't change the structure to group things by a chord_and_lyric_block div (and have their width stretch to the length of the lyric, and stack them horizontally), because I couldn't really copy/select the lyrical lines continuously in their entirety, which is extremely critical. I'm trying to avoid a table-like solution, because this data is not tabular at all. The chord line and the lyric line are meant to be read as one continuous line, not a set of cells. Also, apart from the design philosophy reasons, I think it might have the same problems as the previous thing bullet point. If this is possible, what div/span attributes should I be using? Can you provide sample css? If this is not possible, can it be done with javascript? EDIT: I'm sorry I wasn't clear at the start, but I would like a solution that allows both the chord line and the lyric line to be "selectable" and continuous.

• GROUP BY and SUM distinct date across 2 tables

  I'm not sure if this is possible in one mysql query so I might just combine the results via php. I have 2 tables: 'users' and 'billing' I'm trying to group summed activity for every date that is available in these two tables. 'users' is not historical data but 'billing' contains a record for each transaction. In this example I am showing a user's status which I'd like to sum for created date and deposit amounts that I would also like to sum by created date. I realize there is a bit of a disconnect between the data but I'd like to some all of it together and display it as seen below. This will show me an overview of all of the users by when they were created and what the current statuses are next to total transactions. I've tried UNION as well as LEFT JOIN but I can't seem to get either to work. Union example is pretty close but doesn't combine the dates into one row. I need to attach the id of the business to the row of photos.   Howdie do, This is my first time dealing with MySQLi inserts. I had always used mysql and directly ran the queries. Apparently, not as secure as MySQLi. Anywho, I'm attempting to pass two variables into the database. For some reason my prepared statement keeps erroring out. I'm not sure if it's a syntax error, but the insert just won't work. • A question about making a C# class persistant during a file load

  Apologies for the indescriptive title, however it's the best I could think of for the moment. Basically, I've written a singleton class that loads files into a database. These files are typically large, and take hours to process. What I am looking for is to make a method where I can have this class running, and be able to call methods from within it, even if it's calling class is shut down. The singleton class is simple. It starts a thread that loads the file into the database, while having methods to report on the current status. In a nutshell it's al little like this: public sealed class BulkFileLoader { static BulkFileLoader instance = null; int currentCount = 0; BulkFileLoader() public static BulkFileLoader Instance { // Instanciate the instance class if necessary, and return it } public void Go() { // kick of 'ProcessFile' thread } public void GetCurrentCount() { return currentCount; } private void ProcessFile() { while (more rows in the import file) { // insert the row into the database currentCount++; } } } The idea is that you can get an instance of BulkFileLoader to execute, which will process a file to load, while at any time you can get realtime updates on the number of rows its done so far using the GetCurrentCount() method. This works fine, except the calling class needs to stay open the whole time for the processing to continue. As soon as I stop the calling class, the BulkFileLoader instance is removed, and it stops processing the file. What I am after is a solution where it will continue to run independently, regardless of what happens to the calling class. I then tried another approach. I created a simple console application that kicks off the BulkFileLoader, and then wrapped it around as a process. This fixes one problem, since now when I kick off the process, the file will continue to load even if I close the class that called the process. However, now the problem I have is that cannot get updates on the current count, since if I try and get the instance of BulkFileLoader (which, as mentioned before is a singleton), it creates a new instance, rather than returning the instance that is currently in the executing process. It would appear that singletons don't extend into the scope of other processes running on the machine. In the end, I want to be able to kick off the BulkFileLoader, and at any time be able to find out how many rows it's processed. However, that is even if I close the application I used to start it. Can anyone see a solution to my problem?

• I know I'm doing something wrong with RaiseCanExecuteChanged and CanExecute

  Well after fiddling with MVVM light to get my button to enable and disable when I want it to... I sort of mashed things together until it worked. However, I just know I'm doing something wrong here. I have RaiseCanExecuteChanged and CanExecute in the same area being called. Surely this is not how it's done? • Issue in event.PreventDefault()

  I'm using twitter bootstrap in my application. i gave e.preventDefault for link button in $(document).reday(), but it is not working.
