• refresh windows network performance counters in command line

  I am testing a USB device connected to a windows PC. When the device is connected then windows has another network interface going through the device. I need to get the bytes transffered for that specific interface, basically I need the data shown in the networking tab in the task manager for my interface adapter. I found this question which helped to get this info: ms windows network activity bytes send and receive in command line However I have a problem when I run multiple tests - each time I disconnect and connect the device there's another line for the interface, like below. • Web Development - How to access custom host, defined in my hosts file, from another device in the same network

  Ok, I hope i'll be able to explain the issue im experiencing. I'm working on a project, that has 2 parts: one takes all requests from usual localhost, the other handles requests from myhost.local. While trying to access both addresses from my computer, it works ok. But now i need to test myhost.local on mobile devices, connected to the same network. Usually i would just run server from my computer ip in the network: python manage.py runserver 10.0.0.8:8000 And then from any device, going to 10.0.0.8:8000 would show the project im working on. However, now accessing that ip address routes me straight to localhost. So, my question is how to access myhost.local from another device in same network? I don't want to change router settings, if that can be avoided, cos sometimes i work from places where i can't access router admin. Is there any network settings on my computer, that i can change to fix the routing to myhost.local w.o losing access to localhost as well?

  My goal is to be able to make a connection to one, and only one, website through a proxy. Everything else should be dropped. I have been able to do this successfully without a proxy with this code: ./iptables -I INPUT 1 -i lo -j ACCEPT ./iptabels -A OUTPUT -p udp --dport 53 -j ACCEPT ./iptables -A OUTPUT -p tcp -d www.website.com --dport 80 -j ACCEPT ./iptables -A INPUT -m conntrack --cstate ESTABLISHED,RELATED -j ACCEPT ./iptables -P INPUT DROP ./iptables -P OUTPUT DROP How could I do the same thing except redirect the traffic to port 8080 somewhere? Until today, I've been using a G1 and I haven't had any issues. I haven't placed a SIM in the phone yet, but I don't think that should matter.

I read some where that if we right click on the file and in Properties-Security click the unblock option, this problem is solved but this is not working for me as I dont get Security tab in Properties.Please help!! • Send chrome tab from w7 laptop to w7 HTPC? (Like with iPad to AppleTV)

  For the last couple days I've been trying to figure out how to get open tabs syncing between chrome installs on different computers to no avail. (if it's supposed to work the way I think it should, that is.) I have a laptop that I do all my web browsing on. Once in a while I'll come across some video that's worthy of the big-screen and the surround sound and want to open that tab (or media) on the HTPC. It'd be nice if I could just 'Right click Send to HTPC' and it opens up there with no further hassle. But even opening chrome on the HTPC and finding all my current tabs waiting would be fine. Alas, open tabs syncing doesn't seem to actually open tabs on other devices for me. Has anyone come up with a way to accomplish anything similar? Thanks all!

But after I connected it too my Nintendo Wii I think it mounted sdcard as FAT32 itself :\ I'm receiving the following error when trying to download something from 4Shared sync app(But actually none can download or transfer anything to Virtual sdcard): XXXXX.apk: open failed: EACCES(Permission denied) I already restored my old backup wiped all data etc, nothing seems to work. I am creating the "mutable" bitmap after seeing someone using it and it seems to work better than without it. And i am using the parse method on the Uri class and not the fromFile because in my code i am calling these in different places and when i am creating the intent i have a string path instead of a file. Now for my problem. The file gets created. The intent launches a dialog asking me to select a viewer. I have 3 viewers installed. The Astro image viewer, the default media gallery (i have a milstone on 2.1 but on the milestone the 2.1 update did not include the 3d gallery so it's the old one) and the 3d gallery from the nexus one (i found the apk in the wild). Now when i launch the 3 viewers the following happen: Astro image viewer: The activity launches but i see nothing but a black screen. Media Gallery: i get an exception dialog shown "The application Media Gallery (process com.motorola.gallery) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" with a force close option. 3D gallery: Everything works as it should. When i try to simply open the file using the Astro file manager (browse to it and simply click) i get the same option dialog but this time things are different: Astro image viewer: Everything works as it should. Media Gallery: Everything works as it should. 3D gallery: The activity launches but i see nothing but a black screen. As you can see everything is a complete mess. I have no idea why this happens but it happens like this every single time. It's not a random bug. Am i missing something when i am creating the intent? Or when i am creating the image file? Any ideas?

  I am trying to get two way SSL authentication working between a Python server and an Android client application. I have access to both the server and client, and would like to implement client authentication using my own certificate. So far I have been able to verify the server certificate and connect without client authentication. What sort of certificate does the client need and how do I get it to automatically send it to the server during the handshake process? Here is the client and server side code that I have so far. What should I put in the keystore to prevent this exception? Furthermore, is this method of two way SSL authentication safe and effective?

  I was playing around with the Swipe jQuery plugin on my iPod Touch and Android devices. Now, when I swipe on the div element, I was expecting it to actually trigger the event. This works in iPod touch as expected but does not work on my Android device unless I randomly start swiping everywhere until I happen to swipe on that small wrapper div element itself. I am not sure how to explain this but hink of it as sending events to the wrapper div itself. Both use the WebKit engine. Can someone tell me if I am doing something wrong?

• Why am I getting this "Connection to PulseAudio failed" error?

  I have a computer that runs Mythbuntu 11.10. It has an external USB Kenwood Digital Audio device. When I open up pavucontrol, I get this message: If I do as the message suggests and run start-pulseaudio-x11, I get this output: $ start-pulseaudio-x11 Connection failure: Connection refused pa_context_connect() failed: Connection refused How do I correct this error? Update: Somewhere during the course of doing the suggested tests in the comments, a new audio device has now become visible in my sound settings. I have not attached or made any new device, so this must be the result of of some setting change. The device I use and know about is the Kenwood Audio device. • Problems with mounting .ISO files

  I'm using Precise, with GNOME. I've attempted to install some retro, multi-cd games (KOTOR1) via .ISO images and WINE, but I can't get the ISO's to mount correctly. First I tried GMountISO, which showed a read-only warning but worked - until I went to unmount. When the installation program asked for CD 2 I couldn't unmount from the /cdrom folder because neither GMountISO or umount from terminal could detect the mount. After a reboot, I changed to GISOMount (different somehow, I guess?), but when I attempt to mount the ISO I get an error window explaining the syntax of the mount command and, which is also what I get when I attempt to use mount from terminal. After checking /media from terminal on a lark I see the disc mounted there twice over, but umount won't recognize it, even when I specify the full path sudo umount /media/KOTOR_1.iso. It cleared up upon reboot. Can someone please assist? UPDATE :: Thanks for the quick response. What's weird, is the images are like stuck in limbo... • My sound stopped working today, how can I fix it?

  This seems to be a problem with pulseaudio. I was logged in over VNC on my phone and started playing a video this caused X to crash (as sometimes happens). I restarted and suddenly the sound doesn't work. I have a Intel HDA/Realtek ALC889 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801JI (ICH10 Family) HD Audio Controller alsamixer is detecting this just fine. PulseAudio doesn't detect this alsa device so is using auto_null as the default sink (logs below). When I properly kill PulseAudio (tell it not to auto-start) direct ALSA communication with the sound card works just fine. speaker-test, for example, works. So the hardware and ALSA layers are fine IMO. In the logs, it seems that the card might be "busy" but I really don't know how or why it would be now (and never before). Is there an ALSA lock file somewhere that it still there because of my crash? • How to run installation CD for second monitor?

  I am running ubuntu 14 off of a live USB. I have a second monitor that I would like to use while using ubuntu. It has an installation cd that you have to install before using, and when I click on the .exe file the Archive Manager tries to open it and says an error occurred while loading the archive. Thanks for the help. Edit: additional information It just doesn't show up when when I'm in the display settings area. I press the locate(name is probably something else) monitor button too. I know it needs the CD because when I was using it with Windows it didn't work until I went through the installation process on the CD. If ubuntu doesn't use .exe files is there a way to use the CD still?
