• How do I disable "eager" validation entirely using jquery validate ?

  Is there a way to disable "eager" validation using the jquery.validate plugin? Either through an option in the script or as a hack? "Eager" validation kicks in once the form has been validated once - after that, invalid fields are validated onfocusout. I want to disable this behavior, and change my forms to only be validated when the submit button is pressed. I don't mind hacking through the validate script itself also, so if that's what the solution requires that's acceptable.

  I am consuming various XML-over-HTTP web services returning large XML files ( 2MB). What would be the fastest ruby http library to reduce the 'downloading' time? Required features: both GET and POST requests gzip/deflate downloads (Accept-Encoding: deflate, gzip) - very important I am thinking between: open-uri Net::HTTP curb but you can also come with other suggestions. P.S. To parse the response, I am using a pull parser from Nokogiri, so I don't need an integrated solution like rest-client or hpricot.

  I have UserControls in a Controls folder in my solution: /Controls/TheControl.ascx If specify the following: <a runat="server" href="./?pg=1">link text</a> ASP.Net seems to want to rewrite the path to point to the absolute location. For example, If the control is on site.com/products/fish/cans.aspx the link href will be rewritten to read <a href="../../Controls/?pg=1 Why does Asp.Net rewrite these control paths, and is there an elegant way to fix it?

  I've been given the task of doing maintenance to a iOS application that uses OCMapView. I have just realized that when using the application in chinese language, it blows up when the selector doClustering is invoked on a OCMapView instance. This is for me a very puzzling behaviour, because I thought that regardless of the environment language, the OCMapView class should allways have the same methods. Am I wrong?   I need to visualize a text into a delimited space. If I add a simple TextBlock I have a problem: when the text is longer than the available space, it is cropped at the end. I tried to insert the TextBlock inside a Viewbox: this solution works for a text longer than the available space, but increase the size of the text when it is shorter. Is there a way to reduce the size of the text only when it is longer than the available space?

• Nobody owner (99 99) in FTP caused by php functions !

  I have a script (Joomla) that creates files and directories on the server. The problem is that it creates them under owner 99 99 (nobody) and after I can't delete or modify them by FTP without the help of the server admin. I think that is move_uploaded_file function of php. Is there any solution of this problem by the WHM or by the server admin? Can I modify the default owner in ftp?

• Prevent command "del /s" from entering a folder

  I need to recursively remove unnecessary files from a svn repository and i have the following batch file to do this: @echo on del /s ~*.* del /s *.~* del /s Thumbs.db However, this is also deleting the entries under the .svn/ subfolders. Is there any way to prevent this commands from being executed under the .svn/ folders so that it doesn't mess things up? Thanks in advance! EDIT: A solution using Bash (cygwin) would also work for me since i just need to do this once.
