  • Opening IProject properties when another (adaptable to IProject) object is selected

    I have a custom view displaying a hierarchy model of the current project. The root element is of class MyProject which is my own class, but it represents one Eclipse IProject, and it's adaptable to IProject. I have a "properties" menu option in the popup menu for that view, and I'd like to open up IProject's properties when a MyProject object is selected. PropertyDialogAction only looks for property pages registered for MyProject and doesn't give me a chance to offer an adapter -- or, at least, I don't know how to offer one. What's the proper solution for this? In the meantime, I've overridden PropertyDialogAction to handle my class in the special way I require, but that seems like quite a kludge to get this done.

  • Ruby/Rails - Add records to an object with each loop iteration / Object vs Arrays

    I'm trying to figure out how to add records to an existing object for each iteration of a loop. I'm having a hard time discovering the difference between an object and an array. I have this @events = Event.find(1) @loops = Choices.find(:all, :limit => 5) #so loop for 5 instances of choice model for loop in @loops @events = Event.find(:all,:conditions => ["event.id = ?", loop.event_id ]) end I'm trying to add a new events to the existing @events object based on the id of whatever the loop variable is. But the ( = ) operator just creates a new instance of the @events object. I tried ( += ) and ( << ) as operators but got the error "You have a nil object when you didn't expect it! You might have expected an instance of Array. The error occurred while evaluating nil" I tried created an array events = [] events << Event.find(1) @loops = Choices.find(:all, :limit => 5) #so loop for 5 instances of choice model for loop in @loops events << Event.find(:all,:conditions => ["event.id = ?", loop.event_id ]) end But I dont know how to call that arrays attributes within the view With objects I was able do create a loop within the view and call all the attributes of that object as well... <table> <% for event in @events %> <tr> <td><%= link_to event.title, event %></td> <td><%= event.start_date %></td> <td><%= event.price %></td> </tr> <% end %> </table> How could i do this with an array set?     Hi, I'm trying to use the jQuery colorbox plugin to show a little warning when a warning icon is clicked. Check out the problem: - Go to http://dev.imagineelection.com/browse/zip/10011 - Click on one of the warning icons (scroll down to see one). See how the colorbox that pops up is empty? I've tried to isolate the problem: - If you click "View Source" -- the div id="address-alert" is in there - If you click "View Generated Source" (for example, with Firefox Web Developer plugin) -- the div id="address-alert" has been taken out, but it has not been replaced inside the new div id="cboxCurrent" that colorbox has put at the top of the page The jQuery call I'm doing is: if (jQuery().colorbox) { $(".warning-class").colorbox({width:"50%", inline:true, href:"#address-alert"}); } What is going on? Why won't the inline content work?

    I'm looking to turn off try blocks for a specific JSP page (though turning it off globally would be OK as well). From what I've gathered, it looks something like this: <jsp-param> <param-name>noTryBlocks</param-name> <param-value>true</param-value> </jsp-param> However, everywhere I see that sample it's for a weblogic.xml file. Does anybody know how I can set this JSP parameters for a Spring MVC application? web.xml?   • Oracle, slow performance when using sub select

    I have a view that is very slow if you fetch all rows. But if I select a subset (providing an ID in the where clause) the performance is very good. I cannot hardcode the ID so I create a sub select to get the ID from another table. The sub select only returns one ID. Now the performance is very slow and it seems like Oracle is evaluating the whole view before using the where clause. Can I somehow help Oracle so SQL 2 and 3 have the same performance?   • Codeigniter Form Validation - how to unset form values after success?

    I realise this request goes against the example provided in the CI documentation (which advises a separate 'success' page view), but I would like to reutilise a given form view after a form has been successfully submitted - displaying a success message then displaying a blank form. I've tried a few ways unsuccessfully to clear the validation set values (unsetting $_POST, setting rules / fields to an empty array and rerunning validatio). I could redirect to the same page, but then I'd have to set a session variable to display a success message - which is a messy approach. Any ideas how to achieve the above?

  • Rails select list reverts to top?

    Hi Everyone, I have number of select lists in my rails application like this: <li>Company<span><%= f.select :company_id, Company.all.collect {|m| [m.companyname, m.id]} %></span></li> They all work well, except - sometimes if you go to the edit view, the select list reverts to the top item, not the item that was chosen when creating. So if you go to an edit view and then click update without actually making any changes, the lists default to the top item - even though you didn't touch them. Is there a way around this?     Hi, I am facing problem in creating an mvc application as sub-application of the asp.net application. My Mvc application is doing fine in development environment and even when it is deployed normally. However whenever I tried to deploy it as a sub-application of an asp.net application like http://mainapplication/mvcsubapplication I got an error The view 'Index' or its master could not be found. The following locations were searched: ~/Views/Home/Index.aspx ~/Views/Home/Index.ascx ~/Views/Shared/Index.aspx ~/Views/Shared/Index.ascx There is no problem in view naming since application is well tested in development environment. It only happens when I tried to deploy it as sub-app. remember I am deploying on a server with IIS 7.x installed on it. Any response will be appreciated. Thanx

    Hello, on my web site I want to have login/registration form in modal window done using facebox (jQuery plugin). What is better: Create view with one method and template that has form and refer facebox to this view. Create static HTML file in public directory and refer facebox to this static page. What I want to achieve is: Easy verification (like "user name already taken", "password confirmation doesn't match password" and stuff like that). Easy submit and redirect I'm new to Rails, I just know about forms verification in Django, so for Django I would probably choose option 1, but it might be another thing in Ruby.

  • Where to put a recursive function when following MVC?

    Hello, I have a recursive function being used to generate a menu on my site. The function is calling a database for each level of children in the menu, and generating html for them. I've currently put this function in a Model part of the code, however, I feel that generating html in the model goes against the MVC. I didn't put it in a Controller because I didn't want to have database calls or HTML generation there. I didn't put it in a View because I didn't want database calls there either. Is the 'correct' way of tackling this problem to have a Controller call a recursive function in a Model that returns a 2d array representing the menu. Then pass the array to a view which has it's own recursive function for generating html from the array?

Drag N Drop Out of the 2 different drag n drop examples i've seen they have all used a static string array where as i'm getting a list from a database and using simple cursor adapter. So my question is how to get the results from simple cursor adapter into a string array, but still have it return the row id when the list item is clicked so I can pass it to the new activity that edits the note.   • iPhone - Landscape Only App

    Hello all! I am trying to make an app that will only be viewed in Landscape. I have looked up some tutorials (albeit older ones) and have done the following: -set up the info.plist to include a key for uiinterfaceorientation -in the main view controller I have set the frame to be 480 x 320 Now, the first screen loads up ok. Everything is where it should be and whatnot. However, if I click a button that is set to present a modal view controller nothing happens. Everything is linked and coded correctly but nothing happens when I press the button. Am I doing something wrong with trying to force landscape? At it's basic, this question is a how do you effectively make an app that will only be in landscape mode? Thanks for any help.

    I had created a new table named USERLOG with two fields from a previous VIEW. The table already consist of about 9000 records. The two fields taken from the VIEW, i.e. weblog_views consist of IP (consists of IP address), and WEB_LINK (consists of URL). This is the code I used, CREATE TABLE USERLOG AS SELECT C_IP, WEB_LINK FROM weblog_views; I want to add another column to this table called the USER_ID, which would consists of a sequence starting with 1 to 9000 records to create a unique id for each existing rows. I need help with this part. I'm using Oracle SQL Developer: ODMiner version 3.0.04. I tried using the AUTO-INCREMENT option, ALTER TABLE USERLOG ADD USER_ID INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT; But I get an error with this, Error report: SQL Error: ORA-01735: invalid ALTER TABLE option 01735. 00000 - "invalid ALTER TABLE option" So, I would really appreciate any help that I can get!

    Hi all, I have done a couple of simple swing based apps with static layout, but now I've run into a problem while trying to create an app containing multiple views which are changed by pressing appropriate navigational button. You could compare the idea to a website so that every view has buttons to access certain other views but this would work inside a single JFrame. I've found that maybe CardLayout (Cardlayout example) might be appropriate solution for this kind of structure, but I'm unable to figure out a way to switch the views from the buttons which are inside of the JPanes that I've implemented in their separate classes, Of course one way would be to instantiate everything in the parent class like in the small java tutorial example, but this isn't quite clean nor modular for multiple views, isn't it. How can this be implemented so that I can access the view switching method?

    Hi, I've started using mvvm-light toolkit , and new to WPF. My question is: I want to create an pplication where the main window includes a grid with 2 columns 1 col command and col2 will display views when each command will be pressed. i want the views to be created on command and colsed from it's own view. I've tried to figure out how to do it but with no success. I don't know how to write this kind of funconality using the mvvm light. I just know how to create main window with mainview and another view creted already on load. Please help me out.. I'm using 2008 WPF3.5 Shirly. Make me happy today.. i've just started the week!!!
