• Linq ChangeConflictException occurs when submitting DataContext changes

  System.Data.Linq.ChangeConflictException: 2 of X updates failed. at System.Data.Linq.ChangeProcessor.SubmitChanges(ConflictMode failureMode) at System.Data.Linq.DataContext.SubmitChanges(ConflictMode failureMode) at PROJECT.Controllers.HomeController.ClickProc(Int32 id, String code, String n) This is what I get very often. This action is done thousands of times a day, and I get this exception about once every 5 seconds. From what I understand it happens when something changes in the database in the period between creating DataContext and updating it. Am I right? How can I fix it? Update I just debugged the error and found the following: Table name: dbo.Stats current value: 9852039 original value: 9852038 database value: 9852039 The Stats table is updated constantly. So how can I still make LINQ save the changes. With "classical" SQL Server access through SqlDataCommand I never had problems like that.

  I have a nullable date in my database. I am connecting to it with a LinqDataSource, and binding with a FormView. It allows you to place dates fine, but if you remove the date I need it to insert the null value to the db. It is instead throwing an exception. <asp:TextBox ID="TxtStartDate" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("StartDate", "{0:MM/dd/yyyy}") %>' /> Works fine if you place a date in it, but if you delete the date out of it and save, you get System.Data.SqlTypes.SqlTypeException: SqlDateTime overflow. Must be between 1/1/1753 12:00:00 AM and 12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM. How do I make it send null?

• Problem with assembly loading in .NET

  Hi guys, I have got two projects in my solution: Silverlight and standard one. The standard one references System.Xml assembly (version 4.0.0.0), however the Silverlight one references System.Xml assembly (v. 2.0.5.0). I want to make an instance of XmlWriter in my Silverlight project. Here comes the problem - the exception is thrown (file not found for System.Xml assembly). I believe it is a matter of different assembly versions. Do you have any idea how to resolve this issue? Ive read something about the binding redirection - is it the key to the solution? If so, how to do this? Thank you in advance for the reply! Cheers.

• Trigger the change event of a textbox in jQuery

  I have an asp:TextBox with asp:RegularExpressionValidator to validate if it's a number. Obviously an onchange event will be attached to this textbox while rendering. Also I add a change event at $(document).ready to make some calculation when the value is changed. <asp:TextBox id="myText" runat="server" /> <asp:regularexpressionvalidator id="myRev" ControlToValidate="myText" runat="server">*</asp:regularexpressionvalidator> $(document).ready(function(){ $('[id$=myText]').bind('change',function(){ //do something }).change(); //force the change event at the very beginning }); My function will be executed later than the .net generated js because of the register time. But the .net js throws an error. I traced in the js: function ValidatorOnChange(event) { ... } and found that all of event.fromElement,event.toElement,event.srcElement are null which causes the exception. Did I do something wrong? This, however: il.Emit(OpCodes.Ldarg_0); il.Emit(OpCodes.Stloc_0); il.Emit(OpCodes.Ldloc_0); il.Emit(OpCodes.Ret); Does not work. It crashes with the exception "Operation could destabilize the runtime.". Now, I know that the purpose of that is useless but I'm trying to reach my goal by small steps. Why does that not work?

  I have a Spinner with an ArrayAdapter that feeds Values into it. The Problem is that the text is to long for the view and the result is a very very ugly spinner. As can be seen in the screenshot: I tried to pass the Id of my own TextView into the Adapter but everytime the spinner should be shown I get an Exception that the Id I supplied is not valid: 04-26 17:38:39.695: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(4276): android.content.res.Resources$NotFoundException: Resource ID #0x7f09003a type #0x12 is not valid Where do I have to define the TextView? In a separate xml file? With a surrounding viewgroup? It would help me a lot if I could see an example of the adapter initialization and the textview definition?

  As per my understanding a lock is not released until the runtime completes the code block of the lock(obj) ( because when the block completes it calls Monitor.Exit(obj).   I usually see Ruby on Rails books using script/generate model Story name:string link:string which is a singular Story, while when it is controller script/generate controller Stories index then the Story now is Stories, which is plural. Is this a standard on Ruby on Rails? Is it true in other MVC frameworks too, like CakePHP, Symfony, Django, or TurboGears? I see that in the book Rails Space, the controller is also called User, which is the same as the model name, and it is the only exception I see. Update: also, when scaffold is done on Ruby on Rails, then automatically, the model is singular and the controller and view are both plural.

  Hi, everyone, I've started working yesterday on the Euler Project in Clojure and I have a problem with one of my solutions I cannot figure out. I have this function: (defn find-max-palindrom-in-range [beg end] (reduce max (loop [n beg result []] (if (>= n end) result (recur (inc n) (concat result (filter #(is-palindrom? %) (map #(* n %) (range beg end))))))))) I try to run it like this: (find-max-palindrom-in-range 100 1000) and I get this exception: java.lang.Integer cannot be cast to clojure.lang.IFn [Thrown class java.lang.ClassCastException] which I presume means that at some place I'm trying to evaluate an Integer as a function. I however cannot find this place and what puzzles me more is that everything works if I simply evaluate it like this: (reduce max (loop [n 100 result []] (if (>= n 1000) result (recur (inc n) (concat result (filter #(is-palindrom? %) (map #(* n %) (range 100 1000)))))))) (I've just stripped down the function definition and replaced the parameters with constants) Thanks in advance for your help and sorry that I probably bother you with idiotic mistake on my part. Btw I'm using Clojure 1.1 and the newest SLIME from ELPA.

But I want to use relative path (web site root path) . I'm trying to put "my.dll" in "bin" or root folder and I'm using the code : [DllImport("my.dll", EntryPoint = "Out32")] but I'm getting the error: Unable to load DLL 'my.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E) Any ideas?

  Why default factory WON'T return full name of the controllers (with namespaces)? This creates a problem when I try to regiser controllers' names for dependency injection. Here is how I register controllers right now according to this situation. Even this brings up the pages without exception.
