I have this order-by problem I canot crack. I select from my table like this: SELECT * FROM 'sidemodules' WHERE name = 'module1' OR name = 'module2' OR 'name3' Which returns me the modules I want. But the modules lie the table, say in this order: module3 module1 module2 And they are returned to me in this order. How can I get them to display in order AS IN THE WHERE CLAUSE (1,2,3) ? Given an image with a large dimension ( 1.000 x 1.000). What is a good approach to find a small image (e.g. 50 x 50) in the big one? The smaller image can be rotated and differ in the size, but only with a 1:1 ratio. It's not related to any programming language - I'm just interested in pattern recognition. Thank you.

How can a 1Gb Java heap on a 64bit machine use 3Gb of VIRT space?

I run the same process on a 32bit machine as on a 64bit machine with the same memory VM settings (-Xms1024m -Xmx1024m) and similar VM version (1.6.0_05 vs 1.6.0_16). However the virtual space used by the 64bit machine (as shown in top under "VIRT") is almost three times as big as that in 32bit! I know 64bit VMs will use a little more memory for the larger references, but how can it be three times as big? Am I reading VIRT in top incorrectly? Full data shown below, showing top and then the result of jmap -heap, first for 64bit, then for 32bit. UIView drawing problem.

Hi everyone, I have this big problem that i dont know how to fix. I have a UIView that i want to draw a scrolling background on. I am using NSTimer to update 30 frames per second but it seems to redraw one frame every 8 seconds. I am calling [self setNeedsDisplay] but it has no effect. I cant figure out why this is happening, does anyone have any tips? Thanks for your time.

Nothing gets displayed when debugging Microsoft Surface

I am trying to write my first Microsoft Surface application, and am doing the development on the Surface unit itself. I successfully re-created the quick "Photos" application that is shown on the PDC Video, however, now that I'm trying to create my own app - nothing actually shows up when I run it. I'm mainly just adding ScatterViews right now - and they show up fine in the designer, but as soon as I hit F5 - the shell is shown on the surface - but none of the ScatterViews show up. Here's my xaml code so far. Dynamically change ViewPagerIndicator titles

My current project uses some ListFragments to show rows of data. The rows get updated dynamically every some seconds. The amount of rows varies with every update and in every ListFragment. I would like to show the amount of rows to the user, and think that the perfect place for that would be next to the Fragment's title in the ViewPagerIndicator. I provided a sample image for better comprehension: Sadly I am pretty clueless how to achieve this. I'm not great at drawing stuff or even artistic. I could program a little with Javascript and I could consider myself intermediate with jQuery. So my question is, how do I get started? Help with Struts Action mapping

I am having a problem with my struts application it is a class enrollment app and when the user clicks on a "show enrolled courses" button it is supposed to show the courses they are enrolled in but it shows nothing at the moment. Struts/Apache does not return any errors, it Just shows a blank page and I cannot figure out why. Just wondering if anyone can provide some basic advice on an accordion I'm trying to simplify. Got a working version, but it seems way overly complex. But it shows all of the child ul's when any parent li is hovered, and it hides all the child ul's when unhovered. Just not sure how I can get it to A.) Only .show the li ul when that specific li is hovered. And B.) Hide the shown li ul only when another one is hovered (not itself). Example + explanation would be especially helpful! Thanks!!

If Then Else Statement Condition Being Ignored?

I think im going mad but can some show me what im missing, it must be some stupidly simple i just cant see the wood for the trees. BOTH side of this if then else statement are being executed? Ive tried commenting out the true side and moving the condition to a seperate variable with the same result. However if i explicitly set the condition to 1=0 or 1=1 then the if then statement is operating as i would expect. i.e. only executing one side of the equation... The only time ive seen this sort of thing is when the compiler has crashed and is no longer compiling (without visible indication that its not) but ive restarted studio with the same results, ive cleaned the solution, built and rebuilt with no change? please show me the stupid mistake im making using vs2005 if it matters. Problem pushing multiple view controllers onto navigation controller stack

Hi, I am trying to push three view controllers onto the navigation controller. [self.navigationController pushViewController:one animated:YES]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:two animated:YES]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:three animated:YES]; The desired behavior is that view three will show, and when the back button is pressed it will go to view two and then to view one... What actually happens is that view one is visible and pressing back goes to view two and then back again it goes to view one. Which is to say that view one is shown instead of view three. Very strangely, looking at the viewController array of the navigationController after the calls above show the right entries, and looking at the visibleViewController property shows that it has view three in it... even though view one is visible. If i navigate to a sub view from the visible view one (that shows in the place of view three) and press back from that sub view... it goes to view three. It looks like it is showing view one, but knows it is on view three... I am completely confused... any ideas? Jim
