Versions: ClearCase: 7.1.1.2 Team Foundation Server: 2012 RTM Integration Tools: 2.2.20314.1 OS: Windows 2008 R2 ENT SP1 I was able to do a simple example migration of a few files by using the following approach: Using a dynamic view Creating a view shortcut drive (i.e. Z:\) Running the tools as a UI client (not as a windows service) Running the tools UI in user mode (do not “Run as Administrator”) Using the CC detailed history adapter Selecting the view shortcut drive (i.e. Z) on the Tools UI Connect to CC dialog Selecting the “Detect Changes in CC” option on the Tools UI Connect to CC dialog Changing the DisableTargetAnalysis value to True on the Tools UI configuration view I have yet to perform actual migrations for real projects, but will update this blog as I do.

  I have a Windows Vista computer. And I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 on it. But now, when I boot my device it doesn't ask me which OS I want to choose, instead it just boots in Ubuntu. Please help me! I don't know what to do... :/ P.S.: I've created a partition with the Ubuntu installer. My hard disk drive is 250 gb (there around) and the partition is 30gb big... P.S.S.: It's very important because is my mom's computer and there are some very important files on it... :(

  GNU recommend make AUTHORS file for list of authors and contributos of a program. But how many "levels" of authors and contributors should contain the file? E.g. I write a program foo, that actively use some library. Should I include authors of the library in the AUTHORS? It seems to yes, because total code of foo contain code from library. But if yes, I should include also authors of all others libraries, including standard libraries of compiler, authors of the compiler and other tools for producing final executable code, authors of OS... When I should stop?

• Resume upgrade to 13.10

  I had 13.04 and started to upgrade to 13.10. But the computer hanged and I rebooted it. I did instructions from How do I resume a release upgrade/update? Now OS launches, but I upgrade is incomplete: there is no panels in Unity (just a background with some files on Desktop). I think that some post-install scripts didn't launch. Please help me with this trouble. P.S. Or how can I completely reinstall unity (with all of the dependencies)?   I use my Thinkpad laptop with a docking station. The docking station is connected to my router via LAN. When I walk around the house I use my laptop with WLAN. Is it possible (and how) to manage these devices with a script or something to work like this: If a LAN-Connection is up, the OS should turn off Wifi and if LAN-Connection gets lost (undocking) Wifi should turn on automatically. I use Ubuntu 11.04 64bit with Gnome 2. The system works on an Lenovo ThinkPad R500 with.   Possible Duplicate: Problem with ubuntu 12.04 I am new to Ubuntu. I've installed 12.04 version of Ubuntu. It works fine but sometimes when i shutdown my PC from Ubuntu and when I try to start it again,nothing shows on the screen. It's always black screen instead of Acer logo (I have Acer aspire 5573) and the system restart again and again but and doesn't allow me to choose a OS (Ubuntu/windows,i use dualboot) To fix this I have to remove the battery and put it again.Then everything works fine. How do i fix this issue? I think that could be a incompatibility with the PC because everything works fine with windows. Thanks!

• Ubuntu crashed during the update to 12.04, not I can't recover my files, help please

  I'm pretty new to Linux and I've only installed Ubuntu as I couldn't afford to buy Windows, worked well and I liked it. But I chose to upgrade it to the newest version after a prompt. The update froze and the machine was unresponsive which forced me to hard reboot it. Now nothing seems to load and I've reached my wits end (mainly cos I'm lost in all the command lines). I've decided to try and recover my data from the hard drive, only two folders, by selecting the try Ubuntu option when I insert the OS CD into the machine. The problem I'm experiencing now is it won't let me copy my folders, I get a 'The folder contents could not be displayed. You do not have the permissions necessary to view the contents of "folder_name".' Does anyone know how I can recover this data?

  my problem is the that for a Hackintosh (unofficial PC running OS X) I needed to set AHCI, Power Mode S3 and HPET 64bit. Now, I want to install Ubuntu (when 12.04 comes out) and was wondering if these settings will be right to use for Ubuntu. I read that AHCI is how the hard disks are accessed, Power Mode S3 is how suspend works with the RAM but couldn't figure out if using HPET 64bit makes any difference than HPET 32bit. What I would like is an explanation of what these BIOS settings do and what is best for Ubuntu. Thank you very much

  I have been trying to install ubuntu along windows but failed. the issue is that I get a graphical glitch with the colours of the ubuntu loading screen while installing from usb and no progress is made, the pc freezes. I've tryied the nomodeset solution, but when I have to reboot I get the same problem. I've tried ubuntu 13.10, 13.04, 12.04 etc...both generic and for amd: nothing worked... any idea how this could be resolved or which distribution/iso I should try for my system? thank you.   Back when I had windows 7, I cloned my internal hard drive to an enclosed external usb hard drive. I then formatted my internal hard drive and installed ubuntu 11.10 as my only OS. How do I migrate my files, pics, mp3's, and etc off the external drive and back to my internal drive which now only has ubuntu on it. (and why is this process not made easier?) I have tried logging in as the root user but I cannot find the external device. I have downloaded several different apps to manage files, usb sticks and etc. PLEASE HELP!!!

  I have just installed Ubuntu for the first time ever. I have just installed it in a Dell Inspiron 1520 that came pre installed with Windows Vista and i currently run both of the OS (I just choose when the computer starts up). The wifi definitely works on the computer since i used it to download Ubuntu in the first place when I was using Vista. The Network Manager says that I only have a 'Wired' Network and it doesn't have any other options to choose from. I connected the Laptop into a wired connection and downloaded the 'Wicd Network Manager' but it had no effect either. From there I continued to go into 'Software Sources' and installed the wireless drive but that had no effect either. So... What can I do?

Occasionally when I am working at a 5 hour stretch, the computer will freeze up completely and I will have to close down manually and reboot. When this happens I lose the material I have been working on as I cannot save it. And I often receive a notice at this time saying that my profile is not available or that I do not have a profile. I am an Ubuntu user not a technician and do not know what to do about this problem.

  hello all i had ubuntu on my desktop but i had lots of problems with it so i turned back to windows... now im having the biggest problem ever :S all my dad was in a folder that i created on ubuntu OS and i copied em to another HDD and then i removed it and putted my HDD and removed all the partitions and made the windows parttions once i copied those folders back to my HDD ( using windows 7 ) i found those folders size 0KB when i try to open them i get error.. pleaaase tell me what to do.. i was using my /home partition as ext4.. waiting for answer :(

  I've just installed matlab and want to be able to call it from the terminal. It works fine when I explicitly call it from its directory. I cd to /usr/local/bin and type sudo ln -s /usr/local/MATLAB/R2012a/bin/matlab matlab when I then type "matlab" in the terminal, I get the error message "bash: /media/OS/MATLAB/bin/matlab: No such file or directory" I have no idea why it's trying to call matlab from /media. I've tried deleting the file from usr/local/bin but when I create it again the same thing happens. Any help would be very much appreciated.

  Lately, I've been having Ubuntu crashing randomly.. it goes into read only mode, but once I restart it's working again. Today it happened again and I had to manually shut the computer down. Now I'm not able to boot anymore. I get the following when turning the computer on: error: unknown filesystem And I'm left at "grub rescue". I booted from the Live CD and installed "boot-repair". When I run it it says "no os has been found on this computer", it gives me no option to carry out any fixes.   i have a hp dv6 system. on which i was having the windows 8 installed. as i was interested in downloading the ubuntu 12.10 along with windows 8(not inside) .i have made separate partition in ubuntu 12.10 but some how it backfires and now i am not able to boot windows 8 and ubuntu. with windows 8 there is no drive to access the drive partition that has OS. with ubuntu i am getting blank screen. i am thinking that i have problem in system partition but i am not able to solve it. Plz help me. i am in a venerable condition... i have tried booting the window with the help of installation cd but iam not succesful in any of the method - 1-reset PC 2-RECOVERY 3- from command prompt i tried to check disks but it is not showing anything
