    Hi, I have a drop down list, and I added some items in it as follows <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlInsAuther" runat="server" DataSourceID="ObjectDataSourceInsAuthers" DataTextField="AutherName" DataValueField="AutherID"> <asp:ListItem Value="-1">No Authers</asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> And in Datasource <asp:ObjectDataSource ID="ObjectDataSourceInsAuthers" runat="server" SelectMethod="GetAll" TypeName="MyProject.BusinessLayer.AuthersFactory"> </asp:ObjectDataSource> When it loads it clears the list and loads the new items, I don't want to make a custom binder on page load, how can I maintain my added items in the list while binding from datasource?

  • Using MS Anti XSS library for sanitizing HTML

    In the intent of preventing XSS attacks, I am updating a page in which we have a textbox that accepts HTML, stores it in a database and retrieves and renders it at a later time. My understanding is that I can sanitize the HTML using AntiXSS.GetSafeHtmlFragment() method. As long as I do this before storing the HTML in the database, am I covered? Do I need to do anything when the HTML is outputted on a web page? Also, it appears that the white list is kind of a black box. Is there a way to update this based on our requirements?

  • Problems using FluentNHibernate + SQLite with .NET4?

    I have a WPF application running with VS2010 .Net3.5 using Nhibernate with FluentNHibernate + SQLite, and all works fine. Now I want to change to use .Net4, but this has turned into a more painful experience then I expected.. When setting up the connection a FluentConfigurationException is thrown from FluentConfiguration.BuildConfiguration saying: An invalid or incomplete configuration was used while creating a SessionFactory. Check PotentialReasons collection, and InnerException for more details. The inner exception gives us more information: Could not create the driver from NHibernate.Driver.SQLite20Driver, NHibernate, Version=2.1.2.4000, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=aa95f207798dfdb4. It has an InnerException again: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Which again has an InnerException: The IDbCommand and IDbConnection implementation in the assembly System.Data.SQLite could not be found. Ensure that the assembly System.Data.SQLite is located in the application directory or in the Global Assembly Cache. If the assembly is in the GAC, use element in the application configuration file to specify the full name of the assembly. Now - to me it sounds like it doesn't find System.Data.SQLite.dll, but I can't understand this. Everywhere this is referenced I have "Copy Local", and I have verified that it is in every build folder for projects using SQLite. I have also copied it manually to every Debug folder of the solution - without luck. Notes: This is exactly the same code that worked just fine before I upgraded to .Net4. I did see some x64 x86 mismatch problems earlier, but I have switched to use x86 as the target platform and for all referenced dlls. I have verified that all files in the Debug-folder are x86. I have tried the precompiled Fluent dlls, I have tried compiling myself, and I have compiled my own version of Fluent using .Net4. I see that there are also others that have seen this problem, but I haven't really seen any solution yet. After @devio's answer I tried adding a reference to the SQLite dll. This didn't change anything, but I hope I made it right though..   • My pay pal button will not link to pay pal. It only refreshes page, why?

  • CustomValidatation control that fire on multiple control events

    I am trying to create a UserControl that is a composite control for entering Dates. It involves 2 drop down controls (one for month and one for day) and a text box for year. It also has a CustomValidation control that I would like the user of the UserControl to be able to set the ClientValidationFunction property and have it triggered whenever the value in any of the 3 date part controls changes. To hook up each of the 3 controls to the validation control, I use teh AJAX ValidatorHookupControlID method.   • Basic refactoring features (e.g., Rename) unavailable when editing code in an aspx/ascx files

    I was just editing some C# code between <% %> tags in an .ascx file, and I noticed that the Refactor contextual menu is unavailable. And even if I manually add items from this menu to a custom toolbar, they are disabled when viewing aspx/ascx files. I usually only have small snippets of C# code in my aspx/ascx files, but it would still be nice to be able to perform refactoring operations on any code that exists between <% %> tags. I feel like I'm going back to the dark ages when I have to use find/replace to change the name of a variable. Questions Is there a way to enable Visual Studio's refactoring features while viewing aspx/ascx files in Visual Studio? Are there any Visual Studio plug-ins (preferably free) that offer this kind of functionality?

  • Server.Execute(path).. executed page returns the calling pages' url from request.url..

    Hey, As explained in the title, I am having a problem with getting the URL of the page being executed from within a page. Basically I have a dynamic catalogue, where customers select products they are interested in. The manager of the company I am doing this for would like to be able to create an up to date offline catalogue at any given time, to send out to customers who dont have an internet connection. So far its going really well. I am using Server.Execute to get the content for each page, then putting it in static html pages and changing the dynamic links to static html links (ie changing all aspx links to htm). I am able to output all the pages for about us, contact us, home, and the entire catalogue. However, one of the stylesheets which is included in the page based on the URL (if the page is in the administration section then it is not included, otherwise it is) is not being included in the pages when it should be. I have tried outputting the URL but it just returns the URL of the calling page, not the page being called. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated.     I have several views written in NHaml that I would like to render as encoded html. Here's one. %table.data %thead %tr %th Country Name %th ISO 2 %th ISO 3 %th ISO # %tbody - foreach(var c in ViewData.Model.Countries) %tr %td =c.Name %td =c.Alpha2 %td =c.Alpha3 %td =c.Number I know that NHaml provides syntax to Html encode the output for given lines using &=. However, in order to encode the entire view, I would essentially lose the benefit of writing my view in NHaml since it would have to look like this.... &= "<table class='data'> &= " <thead> So I was wondering if there was any cool way to be able to capture the rendered view as a string, then to html encode that string. Maybe something like the following??? public ContentResult HtmlTable(string format) { var m = new CountryViewModel(); m.Countries = _countryService.GetAll(); // Somehow render the view and store it as a string? // Not sure how to achieve this. var viewHtml = View("HtmlTable", m); // ??? return Content(viewHtml); } This question may actually have no particular relevance to the View engine that I am using I guess.   • Is AsParallel() good practice in a web environment?

    I have no doubt that for client applications, AsParallel() will bring some out-of-the-box performance gains. But what if I would use it in a web environment. Let's say I have a widget framework that loops over all widgets to get their data and render output. This would parallelize great no? I do have my doubts on using AsParallel() in this scenario. What if I have a large number of visitors for my site, isn't IIS going to use multiple threads to handle all requests? Aren't there going to be locking issues presented after a while, or threads dying because all processors are in use? It's just a thought, what do you think about this?

Now I want to change to use .Net4, but this has turned into a more painful experience then I expected.. First I met a problem which required that I set a [SecurityCritical] attribute. Fine - I fixed this. But the reason this was exposed was because an exception was thrown in the first place. And the exception thrown was the following - when calling FluentConfiguration.BuildConfiguration: FluentConfigurationException unhandled An invalid or incomplete configuration was used while creating a SessionFactory. Check PotentialReasons collection, and InnerException for more detail The inner exception gives us more information: Message = "Could not create the driver from NHibernate.Driver.SQLite20Driver, NHibernate, Version=2.1.2.4000, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=aa95f207798dfdb4." This is what I saw in my own project when moving to VS2010. I have tried changing Fluent to use the x64 variant of SQLite, but this doesn't change anything. Does it sound like it might be related to mixing of 32bit and 64bit assemblies? I see that there are also others that have seen this problem, but I haven't really seen any solution yet. I am using the following code in my master page: <% Html.RenderAction("RecentArticles","Article"); %> where the RecentArticles Action (in ArticleController) is : [ChildActionOnly] public ActionResult RecentArticles() { var viewData = articleRepository.GetRecentArticles(3); return PartialView(viewData); } and the code in my RecentArticles.ascx partial view : <li class="title"><span><%= Html.ActionLink(article.Title, "ViewArticle", new { controller = "Article", id = article.ArticleID, path = article.Path })%></span></li> The problem is that all the links of the articles (which is built in the partial view) lead to the same url- "~/Article/ViewArticle" . I want each title link to lead to the specific article with the parameters like I'm setting in the partial view. Thanks.

    I'm trying to transfer a file over a IHttpHandler, the code is pretty simple. However when i start a single transfer it uses about 20% of the CPU. If i were to scale this to 20 simultaneous transfers the CPU is very high.     My function get QueryString from some Web page as a string. I need to parce it, to check, what strategy i must use. Now my code looks ugly (i think so): public QueryStringParser(string QueryString) { if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(QueryString)) { this._mode = Mode.First; } else if (QueryString.Contains(_FristFieldName) && !QueryString.Contains(_SecondFieldName)) { this._mode = Mode.Second; } else if (!QueryString.Contains(_FristFieldName) && QueryString.Contains(_SecondFieldName)) { this._mode = Mode.Third; } else { throw new ArgumentException("QueryString has wrong format"); } } There must'n't be both FieldNames in one QueryString. How to change this code to be mo readable.
