  I add GroupBoxes to an ItemsControl dynamically using: string name_ = "TestName", header_ = "TestHeader" GroupBox MyGroupBox = new GroupBox { Name = name_, Header= header_, Width = 240, Height = 150, Foreground=new SolidColorBrush(Color.FromArgb(255, 0, 0, 0)) }; MyItemsControl.Items.Add(MyGroupBox); Now I need to add content to this GroupBox, like a few TextBlocks created like: TextBlock MyTextBlock = new TextBlock {Text = "test"}; But I can't figure out how to do that. Normally to a Grid or something like that I would just use .Children.Add(MyTextBlock), but that doesn't work here. Also I have to be able to remove specific Items from the ItemsControl again (best would be by the name of the Item, name_ in this example).

• Groovy: Dynamically addings methods with a specific signature.

  So, I need to dynamically create (or inject) methods into an object that have a specific return type and method signature, because a Java tool we're using will be finding this methods via Reflection and checks for void type. Method names will be determined at runtime. Using metaClass. = { ... } however adds a closure which doesn't show up as a regular method (even if it can be used as one) and also has a return type. I can't modify the method finding code, and it it not Groovy-aware. I can't use methodMissing() or invokeMethod() because the method needs to actually exist. If I could overload class.getMethods() I think it would be possible, but I can't figure out how. Is there any way to do this in Groovy?

• linq .net with dynamically generated controls

  This is a very strange problem and i really dont have a clue whats causing it. What is supposed to happen is that a call to the BLL then DAL returns some data via a linq SPROC call. The retunred IMultipleResults object is processed and all results stored in a hashtable. The hashtable is stored in session and then the UI layer uses these results to dynamically generate some gridviews. Easy you would think. But if i run the code i dont get any gridviews. If i take out the call to the BLL and DAL the gridviews appear but with nothing in them? Why is it the page renders correctly when i take out the call to get the data? Thanks.

• sIFR: dynamically inserting umlaut causes trouble

  Hi, let me state cleary at the beginning that I know about the embedding issue in flash. So, to the point. If sIFR replaces an umlaut (ä,ö,ü) which is hard coded in the HTML file everythings works fine. But when I want to insert it dynamically it is not displayed. I played around with charset options to specifiy the javascript file i'm referencing but it doesnt change a thing. Here's JavaScript and sIFR code: sIFR.replacements["#image-counter span"][0].replaceText("ö"); I tried as well to replace "ö" by "&ouml;" and "&#246" but this doesnt work around it either. Any ideas?

• Issues with dynamically allocating a string array

  Brand new to C. I am trying to dynamically allocate the array frags2 of size numberOfFrags and copy over the contents of the original array to it. I have tried numerous approaches and searching and do not understand what is going wrong here. Sizeof on the new array returns 0 instead of what I thought I malloc'd. • Printing contents of a dynamically created iframe from parent window

  I have a page with a list of links and a div which serves as a placeholder for the pages the links lead to. Everytime user clicks on a link an iframe is created in the div and its src attribute gets the value of the link href attribute - simple and clear, sort of external web pages gallery. What i do have a problem with is printing the contents of the iframe. To do this i use this code: function PrintIframe() { frames["name"].focus(); frames["name"].print(); } The issue seems to be that iframe is created dynamically by JQuery - when I insert an iframe right into the html code, the browser prints the external page all right. But with the same code injected by JavaScript nothing happens. I tried to use JQ 1.3 'live' event on "Print" link, no success. Is there a way to overcome this?

• Archiving rows dynamically

  I was wondering what would be the best solution to dynamically archive rows. For instance when a user marks a task as completed, that task needs to be archived yet still accessible. What would be the best practices for achieving this? Should I just leave it all in the same table and leave out completed tasks from the queries? I'm afraid that over time the table will become huge (1,000,000 rows in a year or less). Or should I create another table ie task_archive and query that row whenever data is needed from it? I know similar questions have been asked before but most of them where about archiving thousands of rows simultaneously, I just need to know what would be the best method (and why) to archive 1 row at a time once it's been marked completed

• Using anchor property with dynamically added controls

  I'm adding some textboxes to a form dynamically at runtime. Everything works fine i.e. the textboxes are aligned, anchored and automatically resizes until the form is maximized. On maximizing the form, the textboxes are added to the same location while the form was not maximized. This causes a misalignment of the textboxes. How can I ensure that all the textboxes are at the same location and of the same size both while the windowstate is normal as well as maximized? EDIT: Btw I'm using C# EDIT: Would a flowlayoutpanel be useful here?

What I want is basically this (written out for simplicity): b = 0 test = [[]] test[b] << ["a", "b", "c"] b += 1 test[b] << ["d", "e", "f"] b += 1 test[b] << ["g", "h", "i"] This gives me the error: NoMethodError: undefined method `<<' for nil:NilClass. I can make it work by setting up the array like test = [[], [], []] and it works fine, but in my actual usage, I won't know how many arrays will be needed beforehand. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks

  Hi, It seems a straightforward thing but I'm not having much success. I'm just implementing a simple animation moving a div left or up using animate() but I would like to be able to set the "top" and "left" css properties dynamically. I would like to use the same function rather than have to have two, one for "left" and one for "top".   When I run my Win32 project in the Visual Studio debugger, I get this huge screed of output about which DLLs were loaded, first-chance exceptions, and so on. Is there a way that I can suppress this output? Some day, I might want to know when 'C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll' was loaded, but normally I don't care. This is especially true when I'm running unit tests, and just want to be told whether any of the tests failed. This stuff isn't output with console applications, but it is with windows applications. To give an example of what I mean, here are the first lines from the output of a recent unit-test run. 'MyProject.exe': Loaded 'C:\dev\MyProject\Testing\MyProject.exe', Symbols loaded. But,I need to list my site's pages in search results when searched with appropriate English words too. So I'm planning to save HTML meta tags (in English) in database and load them dynamically with appropriate page contents. Will loading the meta tags dynamically affect the site adversely?

• IntellIJ editor doesn't appear

  I updated my IntellIJ install to the latest version (11.1.4) and now the Editor window doesn't appear. Double-clicking on the file, jump-to-source, nothing happens. No error message, it just doesn't appear. If I double-click on an xml layout file the preview window works, but no Editor window. Have installed and reinstalled; went back to an earlier version and it doesn't work there either. I'm at a loss. Any ideas? Update: Editor works if I create a new project.   I'm running CR XI, and accessing .RPT files through a ReportViewer in my ASP.NET pages. When the .RPT file is hardcoded with my production server, and I open it on my training server with the code above (and the web.config has the training server in the connection string), I get the ol: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. And then if I go into the .RPT file, and change over the datasource to the training server, and try to open it again, it works fine. Why doesn't the code above overwrite the .RPT files datasource? How can I avoid having to open up each .RPT and change the datasource when migrating reports from server to server? Is there a setting in the .RPT file I'm missing or something?

• Dynamically specify and change a Silverlight DataGrid's columns during runtime (MVVM)

  What's the best method of dynamically specifying DataGrid columns in the Silverlight DataGrid control at runtime following the MVVM pattern? What I'd like to do would be bind the "DataGrid.Columns" property to a property in my ViewModel so that, if the user adds/removes columns, I simply update the ViewModel property and the DataGrid would change. Problem is, the "DataGrid.Columns" property can't be bound to (I don't think). Because this property isn't available nor is the DataGrid control itself available at the ViewModel level, my current approach is to step outside of the MVVM pattern for this particular implementation and capture certain events in View's code-behind using MVVM Light's Messenger class and then talk directly with the DataGrid control to achieve this capability. I know this is a general statement to this approach without details but is there an easier way... or maybe not so much easier, but a better way that adheres to the MVVM pattern a little better? It's driving me crazy that the DataGrid control's Columns property can't be bound... seems like such a simple thing. FYI - Before it's suggested to use AutoGenerateColumns = True, the class being bound for each item in the collection that's bound to DataGrid.ItemsSource does not have individual properties to identify what is bound to the columns... it's a collection property that contains the columns in order to keep them completely dynamic so that particular path is out. Also, handling the AutoGeneratingColumns and using e.Cancel to show/hide columns is also iffy for this same reason (I think).

Now i wanted to get the pivot table generated for it by mapping the name against districts Name CA JB MN LP Mike 3 0 0 1 Proctor 0 2 2 0 Luke 0 0 3 0 i wrote the following query for this select name,sum(if(District="CA",1,0)) as "CA",sum(if(District="JB",1,0)) as "JB",sum(if(District="MN",1,0)) as "MN",sum(if(District="LP",1,0)) as "LP" from district_details group by name However there is a possibility that the districts may increase, in that case i will have to manually edit the query again and add the new district to it. I want to know if there is a query which can dynamically take the names of distinct districts and run the above query. I know i can do it with a procedure and generating the script on the fly, is there any other method too? I ask so because the output of the query "select distinct(districts) from district_details" will return me a single column having district name on each row, which i will like to be transposed to the column.

• How can I dynamically access user control properties?

  Im trying to create a "user control menu" where links to a page's usercontrols are placed at the top of the page. This will allow me to put several usercontrols on a page and allow the user to jump to that section of the page without scrolling so much. In order to do this, I put each usercontrol in a folder (usercontrols) and gave each control a Description property (<%@ Control Language="C#" Description = "Vehicles" .... %>). My question is how can I access this description dynamically? I want to use this description as the link in my menu. So far, I have a foreach on my page that looks in the ControlCollection for a control that is of the ASP.usercontrols type. If it is I would assume that I could access its attributes and grab that description property. How can I do this? (Im also open to a better way to achieve my "user control menu", but maybe thats another question.) Should I use ((System.Web.UI.UserControl)mydynamiccontrol).Attributes.Keys?

• Error while dynamically loading mapi32.dll

  Our application uses Simple MAPI to send e-mails. One of our clients has problems sending e-mail from a session on his terminal server. The mapi32.dll is loaded with a call to LoadLibrary which succeeds, but then our application tries to get the addresses of the functions MAPILogon, MAPILogOff, MAPISendMail, MAPIFreeBuffer and MAPIResolveName. The problem is that GetProcAddress fails for those functions with an ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED (code: 5) except for MAPIFreeBuffer. It looks like some sort of security thing. How can I fix this or should I use another method to send mail? • jQuery 1.4 Dynamically created images aspect ratio incorrect in IE8 and max-width

  After upgrading to jQuery 1.4, when I try to add an image to a page dynamically using jQuery 1.4 in IE8, the image will lose the correct aspect ratio. This appears to affect only IE8 (IE7 and Firefox work fine) with jQuery 1.4 (1.3.2 works fine).
