I have been given a task to create an admin page to programmatically add IPs or domains to a SMTP Relay Restrictions using C#. I spent some time researching this since yesterday and finally traced this down to a few posts on several website that use the System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntr class. Using the examples I found, I can add or deny IPs or domains under Connection control but not Relay Restrictions. What would be the commands in C# to add IPs to the Relay Restrictions? Below is a pic of the GUI in IIS for reference.-
Hello
I use the directory listing function in IIS to upload a bunch of files for friends and family to easy access and download.
My problem is that .mkv files it lists but when you click it i get a 'The page cannot be found'.
Ive tried relocating the file and renaming it but i get the same error each time. Why does it do this? Its only my .mkv files everything else works perfectly.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I'm having trouble sending mail using PHP mail() on IIS 7 using Windows 2008 Server.
The server is dedicated, thus I have full control over my machine.
php.ini looks fine - ([mail function] is configured)
I don't get any error from mail() (with the right parameters of course)
btw - I got ASP and ASP.NET sending mails without any problems.
Would be very gratefully for help
Regards,
Roman
Everything else works in Magento 1.4 but I can't upload images. Running on Windows/IIS. I know it isn't officially supported but seems odd that everything works but something as simple as image uploads.
Tried updating the media path and that is correct. Also updated permissions on directories, but nothing has worked.
Any other ideas to get this to work?
thanks
I've been looking all over for decent instructions on how to get hgwebdir working on IIS but I haven't found much of worth.
There's this "step by step" on the Mercurial wiki, but it's not very good.
There's also this and this, but again, I can't find good steps to lead up to where those get started.
I have web-services applications, running on Windows Server 2003. These hosts (each of them on separate appPool) contains multiple operations (consulting services).
Does exist an approach to perform reliability on these hosts, in terms of appPools?
If there is a way to perform it in IIS 7 - or using WCF - I would appreciate the information.
Thanks
Hi there,
I am looking to host a wcf service while i am developing.
Is this best with IIS or can i just use the default BUILT IN web server that ships with Visual Studio?
I can change the Assign automatic port to specific port so in my client i always ahave a fixed address.
I was hoping somebody could advise the best way to go?

Hi
I have a temp website set up in IIS Manager (6) linked to an IP / URL, for example:
1.2.3.4 / www.someUrl.com
When that url is accessed, the temp website shows fine.
But if someone tries to access any other file within that domain, for example:
www.someUrl.com/index.cfm?action=profile
then the upgrade website does not display.
How do I get it to show for all requests made to the domain www.someUrl.com??
Thanks

I need to apply IP restrictions to a site in IIS v6.0 using a range of IPs.
So for example i only want the below RANGE of IPs to be able to access the site:

Has anyone got any idea on how this can best be achieved?
Hope this all make sense and all help is massively appreciated.

What is the best way to determine whether IIS is installed and the version if it is using MSBuild?
So far I can think of using either WMI or Registry but is there an existing task in the MS Community Task, MS Web Deployment or MSBuild Extension tasks which already does this?
I have a website say www.mywebsite.com/demo . When ever if anyone requests this site, i want to navigate to another website www.myanotherwebsite.com . I know that this can be done in IIS by using the HTTP Redirect feature. But since i want to do this for different websites, I would like to write a bat file which would run the command to set the redirect url for a website. Can anyone please help me how to set the redirection URL through command line?
Is there a mod_rewrite equivalent for IIS 7.0 that's
a) more or less complete
b) suitable for a production environment, i.e. battle-tested/dependable/secure
Do you have an experience-based recommendation?
We are performing a pen test on a simple asp application that uses MS SQL Database. It seems for the authentication they are using dynamic constructed queries but escaping single qoutes.
When we use Unicode quotes like %uFFO7,%u02b9 etc we are able to successfully inject SQL injections.
Want to understand is it more a kind of configuration issue of IIS server to cannonicalize Unicode characters or the way the validation function to escape single quotes is written is the cause of the problem?
Hi,
I have a website deeloped in ASP.NET and I want it to be accessed via local URL, for eg: http://localhost/website20
I tried once but the CMS in my website started giving error "It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS."
Please help about the steps I need to follow.
I'm looking or a way to programmatically determine which version of the .NET Framework an application pool is using in IIS, at runtime, and for a website application to then use that information to choose which *.config file it should use. Is it possible? I'm not sure where to begin.
Quite a broad question, and I'm open to any method of solving the problem, so fire away!
Thanks in advance, you lovely Stack Overflowers!
The option to target another version of the .Net Framework is disabled on a particular test system we are using on a current project.
I have tried the following without success:
Killing all W3WP.EXE processesRestarting the IIS serviceRemote Debugging has been removed from the box.
Just hoping for some pointers.
