  I want to consult you in an SEO matter which i am completely lost with, I've built a social mobile application that allows users to share text content and made all the content that appears on the application available via the web through dedicated links, however, those links cannot be navigated through the website but they are generated when users shares content through the app to social media networks. I've implemented this method on three applications with totally different content, and I've directed all generated URLs to be from the main company website which is http://frootapps.com so when users shares something, the url will change to http://frootapps.com/qareeb/share.aspx?data=127311. My question, which one is more preferable, a dedicated website for each app that uses such method? or it is ok to keep doing it the same way I am doing it?

  Like many other natty users on a university / academic network, I'm experiencing annoying frequent disconnects / hangs / delays. See, for instance: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wpasupplicant/+bug/429370 I would like to learn how to add fast_reauth=0 to the wpa_supplicant.conf file. • building kernel headers (v3.4) breaks wifi (in Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS)

  I have dual-booted by Samsung Series 5 Chromebook into Ubuntu using Jay Lee's script/instructions, and then installed the ~500 updates that appear thereafter. Now, I am trying to build my kernel headers in an attempt to enable virtualization so that I can run VirtualBox (I have a VM image on a flashdrive). I followed the instructions here: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/chromebook-central/PPQFpC7mYzk mainly doing as olofj suggests in his answer, while also making sure to abide by additions/edits made by panZ and algp. However, now that I have done so, my wifi has stopped working, and when I click on the network icon in the top bar, in place of wifi networks there is a grayed-out message that says "no network devices available". I have an Atheros AR9300 Ethernet card (I think thats what you call it). Any help is much needed and appreciated. Any further details necessary to answer the question will be provided as necessary.   My wifi is not working. I have tried ndiswrapper with the XP driver but that still did not work. Please explain to me in layman's terms. I can run commands so if you tell me exactly what to put, i will put it. Basically, ubuntu is not showing a wireless networks option and when I ran some command yesterday it said the driver was UNCLAIMED. Please help. This is a wintec card with realtek rtl8192E chip on it. It is a desktop computer. On a 20gb partition, other 60gb is for windows(yeah its an old desktop). Use windows installer to install ubuntu(this is one of the dell desktops that wont boot ubuntu from disk). So any help is appreciated and I would like to get this done THIS weekend.

• Do I need a wifi card to have internet access?

  I am attempting to set up a wireless network on 11.04, freshly download today. The router is on and working. However, I do not have a wifi "card" (which I am assuming is a little USB-type thing that allows internet access, but correct me if I am wrong) and every time I try to type in the MAC address and everything, nothing works. I also get the "firmware missing" error when I scroll over the signal strength, which I have tried looking up but have been unsuccessful with completely understanding it. I guess my main question is do I need another little device to be able to use wifi on my ubuntu? I do have an ethernet cable but another person is using it and I do not want to be tied down to that cable. the problem is that none of the wireless networks show up, however they show up when I go into Windows mode on my laptop. I get an error message at the top saying "firmware missing" which I have tried looking up but still have no straight answer for.

Another laptop with U12.04 does find one. What do I do?   Trying to figure out the best way for openstack and MASS networks to co-exist. Assuming MAAS used 10.0.0.0/24 for provisioning of various openstack nodes, once openstack, with quantum, is deployed should 10.0.0.0 be used as management network, external network, both or discarded? Reason for the question being that I ran a deployment where openstack used 10.0.0.0 as its management network, MAAS dhcp and dns were active; however, I could only access VMs through namespace and was not able to utilize MAAS's dhcp to assign floating IP. (VMs network was through an internal bridge 10.10.10.10, and external bridge was using the same interface as MAAS.) Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

I'm already using the usual Google Adsense, tradedoublers, ad networks, etc. What I want to know, is if anyone knows of a service/network out there (similar to tradedoubler), which allows you to accept (or bid) on campaigns (primarily CPM based). For example: I log in, I get a list of advertising campaigns that are available and the prices they are willing to pay or I can put a bid in with imp count and cpm rate. • NetworkManager not populating resolv.conf

  I recently upgraded from 11.10 to 12.04, and now NetworkManager isn't populating /etc/resolv.conf when connecting to wireless networks, when it had been working perfectly in 11.10. I'm not seeing any explicit errors in either the NM UI or in syslog. How do I diagnose what's wrong? Edit: If I try to run resolvconf, I get the error "resolvconf: Error: /etc/resolv.conf isn't a symlink, not doing anything." What should it be a symlink to and/or how do I get NM to populate it? This says the symlink should point to /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf, but that file does not exist on my system.

  I'm running Ubuntu12.04 and I'm trying to get a TP-Link TL-WN821N to work. The solution from Internet Timeouts with TP-Link TL-WN821N v2 wireless usb stick didn't work for me. Neither has anything else... I've installed rtl8192cu as per instructions I found elsewhere to no avail. The symptoms I am experiencing are: When I plug in the device the PC can see and connect to wireless networks fine. The network I'm using has internet access and the signal strength is pretty strong. I can't ping and I can't browse the internet (timeout). Any ideas? I'm not sure what the next step would be or what information would be useful at this point.

Unfortunately, the PC is not detecting the devices - what I expected is to be shown the Nexus 7 tablet as external devices (like my USB flash memory). But I don't want my ubuntu laptop to be a router as described here as I'll be using suid3 as a http proxy.   First I would like agree one thing that this is fully for Ubuntu, not for BackTrack. However I'm posting my BackTrack question here since I find similar problems in backtrack forum are being unanswered and Linux/Unix site of StackExchange has very low attraction. I'm having USB wifi adapter (iBall Baton), having chipset RTL8191SU. It displays available wifi networks in Wicd manager. But while trying to connect it gives me bad password. When I'm trying to run airmon-ng it didn't returned me the monitor mode. I tried to replace with Ubuntu 12.10 drivers. But it totally nulled the device functionality. However I restored the drivers. I'm interested to compile drivers as if anyone indicate the methods. Awaiting ideas!

• dhcp configuration not working ubuntu 11.10

  I am usually behind a proxy server in college so I connect to the ethernet or wifi using manual IPv4 addresses only inside college. I have been trying really hard to get the internet work at home, there is no proxy and I have set the network to use automatic dhcp. It seems like it is not able to connect to the port, It gets disconnected after some time automatically and then tries to reconnect. The same thing is happening with wifi networks also, after some time i see a pop up asking for authentication and ultimately its not able to connect. What might be the problem here. I looked up some similar questions and checked the /etc/network/interfaces file and looks like this: auto lo iface lo inet loopback I have no idea what those lines mean but there is no configuration for eth0 or wlan0. Any help is deeply appreciated. Ubuntu loses it charms due to these small glitches.

  I'm a systems guy. People change their concentrations to avoid taking operating systems, while I took it during my first semester after transferring. I'm taking compilers and networks now, and I think they're awesome. And yet there are so many job postings looking for people to do work in things like web development, and so few postings looking for people to work in kernel hacking or network engineering. What sorts of companies do these things? I'm currently awaiting a contract in the mail for an internship with VMWare, so I'm not out of a job for the summer. Still, I'd like to companies do these things.

• Kubuntu 12.04 Won't let me search for wireless network

  Hello I'm running a brand new Kubuntu 12.04 single boot on my laptop, this is the first time I tried connecting to a wireless network. I tried using the network manager app allready on the task bar, but it doesn't let me tick the column to search for wireless networks, i.e. it will untick it automaticaly, it's dissabled by the software or the hardware, but I doubt it. I've tried searching the other questions on this site, and I can't see anything which helps with my problem. I know my wireless card is a Atheros AR9285, I don't think I installed any firmware for it, I'm sorry I can't offer more info but I'm completely new to networking and all that I have for the network to connect to are it's name and password of course.

• Fixing IP Renewal After Laptop Suspend

  I have a laptop running Ubuntu 10.04, and I've noticed that with some wifi networks, but not all, I'm unable to reconnect after coming out of suspension. I've tried both Network Manager and Wicd management daemons, and both get through validation, but get hung up on "Acquiring IP address...". The only solution I've found is to reboot the machine, after which it acquires an IP address very quickly. What's the underlying issue here? What would be a more efficient way to resolve the problem? EDIT: I've noticed that if I open Wicd and manually press "Connect", it fails to acquire an IP. However, if I do nothing and let it automatically try and connect, it acquires an IP and connects just fine...

• Which mobile device is appropriate as a utility tool for a web master?

  Basically, I'm looking for a device to use on the road and I would prefer to not have to sit down for the majority of the tasks (which rules out netbooks, in my mind). I'm also hoping to spend less than $500. This is what I'd like to "capably" be able to do on the device: Browse the web in non-mobile format, flash is a plus Email, chat, etc Have access to a decent text editor and ftp OR a browser that supports BESPIN/ACE Some sort of SSH support I'm looking at rooted Android phones and iPhone/iPads... though the phone aspect is only icing (it would be cool to consolidate the two devices and have net access through cell networks, but I'm not married to the idea). Are there cheap linux tablets that are ready for prime-time yet? I suppose that would be ideal. All suggestions welcome!
