Google Charts of SSL

Hi, I need to get the free Google charts working over SSL without any security errors. I am using c# and asp.net. As Google charts does not support SSL by default, I am looking for a robust method of using there charts but ensuring my user doesn't get any security warnings over their browser. One thought was to use a handler to call the charts api and then generate the output my site needs. Similar to Pants are optional blog post. I haven't been able to get this example working at this stage. Any suggestions, or samples are welcome. Thanks

Entity Framework, full-text search and temporary tables

I have a LINQ-2-Entity query builder, nesting different kinds of Where clauses depending on a fairly complex search form. Works great so far. Now I need to use a SQL Server fulltext search index in some of my queries. Is there any chance to add the search term directly to the LINQ query, and have the score available as a selectable property? If not, I could write a stored procedure to load a list of all row IDs matching the full-text search criteria, and then use a LINQ-2-Entity query to load the detail data and evaluate other optional filter criteria in a loop per row. That would be of course a very bad idea performance-wise. Another option would be to use a stored procedure to insert all row IDs matching the full-text search into a temporary table, and then let the LINQ query join the temporary table. Question is: how to join a temporary table in a LINQ query, as it cannot be part of the entity model?

How does COM registration work in Windows

I'm an application packager trying to make sense of how the COM registry keys (SelfReg) interrelate to the given .dll in Windows. ProgID's, AppID's, TypeLibs, Extensions & Verbs are all tied around the CLSID right? Do CLSID's always use Prog/App IDs or could you just have a file extension class? Which bits are optional? Some of it seems to be 'like a router' where there's the two interfaces (internal - .dll) and external (the extension etc). How does this all fit? (The SDK documentation doesn't make sense to me) I ask as this is all pivotal to application 'healing' with Windows Installer (which packagers are all 'big' on, but there's no nitty-gritty breakdowns since its a coder-thing really) ---Edit: Am I safe in assuming that for what COM is registered, it must all link back to the CLSID and cannot be a 'dead-end'? Verbs need extensions which need progid's... What about the AppId's, TypeLibs and Interfaces? How do they interrelate?

Different controllers with the same name in two different areas results in a routing conflict

I have two areas: ControlPanel and Patients. Both have a controller called ProblemsController that are similar in name only. The desired results would be routes that yield /controlpanel/problems = MyApp.Areas.ControlPanel.Controllers.ProblemsController and /patients/problems = MyApp.Areas.Patients.Controllers.ProblemsController. Each has routes configured like this: public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( "**Area Name Here**_default", "**Area Name Here**/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } ); } where **Area Name Here** is either ControlPanel or Patients. When I go to /patients/problems/create (for example), I get a 404 where the routing error says: A public action method 'create' was not found on controller 'MyApp.Areas.ControlPanel.Controllers.ProblemsController'. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Visual Studio does not flag unterminated string constant in VB.Net

I noticed that if I leave off the terminating double quote for a string constant in Visual Studio 2010, there is no error or even a warning, i.e. Dim foo as String = "hi However, the continuous integration tool we are using flags an error: error BC30648: String constants must end with a double quote. What's going on here? Is there some language rule in VB.NET that makes a terminating double quote optional "sometimes"? Is there some setting in Visual Studio that will make it flag this as an error?

Im' developing a system to manage documents and I need make an URL like this: routes.MapRoute("Documentos", "{controller}/{documentType}/{documento}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Home", documentType = "", documento = "", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional }); and the app working an URL like theses: "Document/Administrative/Contract" - (Index action by default to list documents of type 'Contract') "Document/Administrative/Contract/New" - (new action in controller) "Document/Administrative/Contract/10" - (detail action in controller) "Document/Administrative/Contract/Edit/10" - (edit action in controller) Document would be a Controller, and Administrative would be just a description in url to identify that documents of 'Contract' is Administrative... So, My doubts is about my controllers and actions, How should be the signature of the methods of controller ? Need I make an Area called Documents to do this more easy ? PS: Sorry for my english! extract payload from tcpflow output

Tcpflow outputs a bunch of files, many of which are HTTP responses from a web server. Inside, they contain HTTP headers, including Content-type: , and other important ones. I'm trying to write a script that can extract just the payload data (i.e. image/jpeg; text/html; et al.) and save it to a file [optional: with an appropriate name and file extension]. The EOL chars are \r\n (CRLF) and so this makes it difficult to use in GNU distros (in my experiences). I've been trying something along the lines of: sed /HTTP/,/^$/d To delete all text from the the beginning of HTTP (incl) to the end of \r\n\r\n (incl) but I have found no luck. I'm looking for help from anyone with good experience in sed and/or awk. I have zero experience with Perl, please I'd prefer to use common GNU command line utilities for this Find a sample tcpflow output file here. Thanks, Felipe

Task: Extract content between <div class="test"> and the first closing </div> tag. Original source: <div class="test">optional text<br/> content<br/> <br/> content<br/> ... content<br/><a href="/url/">Hyperlink</a></div></div></div> I've worked out the below regex, /<div class=\"test\">(.*?)<br\/>(.*?)<\/div>/ Just wonder how to match several line breaks using regex. There is DOM for us but I am not familiar with that.

I have a Logon page in a MVC (1.0) application that I am securing with SSL, I have an attribute that inspects the request for the page and redirects to a https uri when it is requested with http. This all works, however when I post the form content i get the following error: The parameters dictionary contains a null entry for parameter 'rememberMe' of non-nullable type 'System.Boolean' for method 'System.Web.Mvc.ActionResult LogOn(System.String, System.String, Boolean, System.String)' in 'DAC.US.Web.Portal.Controllers.AccountController'. To make a parameter optional its type should be either a reference type or a Nullable type. Parameter name: parameters here is the controller code... // // GET: /Account/LogOn [RequiresSSL] public ActionResult LogOn(string ReturnUrl) { if (TempData["Message"] != null) ViewData["Message"] = TempData["Message"]; TempData["Message"] = null; ViewData["ReturnUrl"] = ReturnUrl ?? Embedding wav files in AS3 Flash/Flex project?

The Flash IDE is capable of embedding many types of uncompressed sound files, including wav, and offers optional compression when publishing. However, the [Embed] tag, only seems to allow embedding of mp3 files. Is it truly impossible to embed an uncompressed wav file, or am I missing some magic, undocumented mimeType? I was hoping for something like: [Embed source="../../audio/wibble.wav" mimeType="audio/wav"] ...but I get no transcoder registered for mimeType 'audio/wav' It's possible to embed wav or other format as an octet-stream and parse at runtime, but that's pretty heavy handed I think. I'm surprised that even though the Flash IDE can embed uncompressed sound data, [Embed] cannot, given that the swf spec can contain uncompressed sound data. Any takers?

iphone sqlite3 UPDATE with LIMIT and OFFSET clause

Does anyone know if the LIMIT and OFFSET clause work when using the UPDATE statement on iphone. on the sqlite3 website it says "if SQLite is built with the SQLITE_ENABLE_UPDATE_DELETE_LIMIT compile-time option then the syntax of the UPDATE statement is extended with optional ORDER BY and LIMIT clauses.." if not, can it be enabled? I'm using "UPDATE TESTDATA SET VAR = 1 LIMIT 1 OFFSET 1" but i get an error: near "LIMIT": syntax error I can get LIMIT and OFFSET clause to work on a SELECT statement. Are there any other ways around this?

Create Custom Builds of an Xcode Project

I am going to build a Mac application written in Obj-C with Xcode. For argument's sake let's say it will have 10 optional features. I need a way to enable or disable those features to create custom builds of the application. These builds would be automated (most likely through the Mac OS X Terminal) so I would need a way to state which of these features are enabled/disabled at build time (a configuration file or CLI arguments would be ideal.) So what is the best way to accomplish this? I'm trying to plan this out before I start coding so that there is proper separation in my code base to allow for these features to come and go. Ideally the custom build would only contain compiled code for the features it should have. In other words I don't want to always compile all the features and condition them out at runtime.

Overriding a function in Emacs Lisp

I would like to temporarily override the kill-new function. I have a way I want to reimplement kill-new that works in only in certain contexts, but I don't want to reimplement a special version of kill-region on top of that. (kill-new is called from kill-region) Since Emacs Lisp uses dynamic scoping, this should be possible, right? (On the other hand, it seems that this would be an unsafe thing to support, and it might make me a bit nervous knowing that it is possible...) I have experimented with using let and fset, but so far have found no way to get it to work as expected. So, hopefully someone can fill in the blank in the following pseudocode: (defun my-kill-new (string &optional replace yank-handler) (message "in my-kill-new!")) (defun foo () (some-form-that-binds-a-function (kill-new my-kill-new) (kill-region (point) (mark)))) What should some-form-that-binds-a-function be? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Using pyodbc to insert rows into a MS Access MDB, how do I escape the paramaters?

Hi, I'm using pyodbc to talk to a legacy Access 2000 .mdb file. I've got a cursor, and am trying to execute this: c.execute("INSERT INTO [Accounts] ([Name], [TypeID], [StatusID], [AccountCat], [id]) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?, ?)", [u'test', 20, 10, 4, 2]) However, doing so results in pyodbc.Error: ('HYC00', '[HYC00] [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Optional feature not implemented (106) (SQLBindParameter)') I understand I can simply change the question marks to the literal values, but in my experience proper escaping of strings across databases is... not pretty. PHP and mysql team up to bring mysql_real_escape_string and friends, but I can't seem to find pyodbc's function for escaping values. If you could let me know what the recommended way of inserting this data (from python) is, that'd be very helpful. Alternatively, if you have a python function to escape the odbc strings, that would also be great. Thanks for the help.

I have an XForm that has certain fields that may often be left blank (optional street address). Is there is technique to set a default value for that field, preferably a space (I am running into weird formatting issues with CSS). The html form way of value="" doesn't work, neither does setting a default value in the XML schema. To optimize resolving JPA's EntityManager I would like to create helper (JPAResourceBean) that implements lazy load of entity manager. For this purposes I'm going to use struts2's bean declaration: <bean name="myfactory" class="my.model.JPAResourceBean" scope="session" optional="false"/> Why bean is not instantiated neither in session? (I'm using s:property just for debug) ... <s:property value="#session.myfactory" default="buka.1"/> ... nor in plain bean list: ... <s:property value="#myfactory" default="buka.2"/> ... May be the second part of question is - how to resolve this bean from java code?

Regex question: Why isn't this matching?

I have the following regex: (?<=\.\d+?)0+(?=\D|$) I'm running it against a string which contains the following: SVC~NU^0270~313.3~329.18~~10~~6.00: When it runs, it matches the 6.00 (correctly) which my logic then trims by one zero to turn into 6.0. The regex then runs again (or should) but fails to pick up the 6.0. I'm by no means an expert on Regex, but my understanding of my expression is that it's looking for a decimal with 1 or more optional (so, really zero or more) digits prior to one or more zeros which are then followed by any non-digit character or the line break. Assuming that interpretation is correct, I can't see why it wouldn't match on the second pass. For that matter, I'm not sure why my Regex.Replace isn't matching the full 6.00 on the first pass and removing both of the trailing zeros... Any suggestions?

Zend framework currency validation

How can I validate (a form element in this case) to ensure that the value is a currency? Have looked at Zend_Validate_Float. Needs to check that value is between 0 and 2dp. Ideally locale-aware (as ZVF is) to allow for locale specific formatting (thousands, decimal as comma/dot) Would also want to extend to allow/disallow negative values And provide optional upper/lower limits. Is the key, as I can do 3. and 4. with a chain. Do I need regex?
