    Is it possible to use regex to turn this <site-ui:header title="error" backURL="javascript:history.go(-1);" /> into this <site-ui:header backURL="javascript:history.go(-1);" title="error" /> Basically, my goal is to format this xml so that the fields are in alphabetical order (e.g. backURL comes before title), and each field should be tabbed two spaces. If this can be done, any pointers would be really helpful! Even more helpful is an exact regex for vim.

    I need to move a folder from a plugin to the main app/views. I guess using rake to do this with the following command is the easiest way: require 'fileutils' FileUtils.mv('/vendor/plugins/easy_addresses/lib/app/views', '/app/views/') I'm just not sure where to tell script where to look and where to place the folder. The file I want to move is in the following location: `vender/plugins/easy_addresses/lib/app/views/easy_addresses easy_ addresses is the name of the folder in views that I want to move to my_app/app/views/

  • Best way to version control a WCF application with Git?

    Suppose I have the following projects. The format is [ProjectName] : [ProjectDependency1, ProjectDependency2, etc.] // Service CoolLibrary WcfApp.Core WcfApp.Contracts WcfApp.Services : CoolLibrary, WcfApp.Core, WcfApp.Contracts // Clients CustomerX.App : WcfApp.Contracts CustomerY.App : WcfApp.Contracts CustomerZ.App : WcfApp.Contracts (On a side note, WcfApp.Contracts should not depend on WcfApp.Core, right? Else CustomerX.App would also depend on and thus be exposed to the service domain model?) (CoolLibrary is shared with other applications, so I can't just put it inside of WcfApp.Services.) All of this code is in-house. I was thinking of having 6 repositories for this. The format is [repository folder name] : [Projects included in repository.] 1. CoolLibrary.git : CoolLibrary 2. WcfApp.Contracts.git : WcfApp.Contracts 3. WcfApp.git : WcfApp.Core, WcfApp.Services 4. CustomerX.App.git : CustomerX.App 5. CustomerY.App.git : CustomerY.App 6. CustomerZ.App.git : CustomerZ.App How should I manage my project dependencies? I see three options: I could use binaries which I have to manually copy to each dependent repository. This would be easiest at the start, but my repositories would be a little bloated, and it'd become more tedious as I add more client apps for customers. I could import dependent code as submodules. This is what I will probably end up doing, although I keep reading on the web that submodules are a hassle. I also read that I can use something called the subtree merge strategy, but I am not sure how it is different from just cloning the repo into a subdirectory and adding the subdirectory to .gitignore. Is the difference that the subtree is recorded in the master repository, so (for example) cloning it from a different location will also pull the subtree? I know I asked a lot of questions in this post, but the most important two questions I have are: 1. Am I using the right number and layout of repositories? Should I use less or more? 2. Which of the three dependency management strategies would you recommend? Is there another strategy I haven't considered?

  • VS2010 final does only link project on "rebuild all", not on "build changed"

    I've just migrated a solution containing c++ and c# projects from VS2008 to VS2010 and got a strange problem. When I select "rebuild all", everything compiles and links as I would expect it to do.   • Good overview tool / board for visualizing Subversion branch acitivity?

    Our team is sometimes finding it a bit confusing and time-consuming to figure out which subversion operations have been perrformed on our different branches in Subversion. Example, when has the Development branch last been merged into the Trunk? When was this particular Tag created, based on what branch etc etc. All of this information can of course be extracted from the Subversion Log, but thats always a manual, time-consuming and error-prone process. Simplest solution seems to be a simple whiteboard with a visualization of all the different branches/tags/trunk in Subversion and people drawing on it, whenever something significant happens. But we're not averse to finding some kind of a digital solution as well, stored centrally. Obviously both systems depend on people actually maintaining the model, but you'll always more or less have that. What do you use as best practice for keeping a clear view on all Subversion operations in the current Sprint (or beyond)?

    Hi folks, From source1 and source2 i gather that IE9 will NOT support multi-column css3!! Since it is still the most popular browser (another thing i cannot understand), i am left but no other choice than to use Programming Power to make multi-columns work. Now, I use three divs that float to left, and which are manually filled with text. Please don't laugh i know its stupid! But I would wish to not to have to worry about the columns and just have a one piece of (un-interrupted) text which all goes into only 1 div, and then have a program smart enough to split it up into X equally wide columns. Question: before i start reinvent the wheel, what methods of programming power have you known that tackle this elegantly? Please suggest your best working multi-column layout sources so I can evaluate which option is the best (I will update the below table).   • Why does mobile first responsive design tend to not use max-width queries alongside the min-width queries?

    First off, I understand the basic principles behind mobile first responsive web design, and totally agree with them. But one thing I don't understand: In my experience, not all styles for small screens can be used for the larger version of a website. For example, usually smaller versions tend to have larger clickable areas, hamburger navigation, etc. So I sometimes have to override these specific styles, aside from just progressively enhancing the base styles. So I was wondering: why is max-width rarely mentioned (or used) in the context of mobile-first responsive web design? Because it looks like it could be used to isolate styles for smaller screens that are not useful for larger screens, and would thus prevent unnecessary duplication of code. A quote which mentions min-width as typically mobile-first, but not max-width: Mobile first, from a coding perspective, means that your base style is typically a single-column, fully-fluid layout.   • How do you check individual SqlCommands ran during a SqlTransactions to see if they will run?

    I've been reading up on SqlTransactions and have found a great load of examples like: http://www.devhood.com/tutorials/tutorial_details.aspx?tutorial_id=451 The problem is, when I do a BeginTransaction() (Execute all the commands) and then Commit() at the end all the commands I execute get run and the ones with syntax errors or other errors just get skipped. This is where I would also like to run a roll back, not skip over them. I found a few articles on the subject but they were not very helpful and purely in SQL. Is there any way to find out if one of the ExecuteNonQuery()'s failed before the commit and not just skipped? Thanks.

I was thinking of implementing it as an extension method for the BitArray class. The trivial implementation is to iterate and count the bits set (like below), but I wanted a faster implementation as I would be performing thousands of set operations and counting the answer.   • How does jQuery have asynchronous functions?

    I'm surprised I can't find a clear answer to this. So, in jQuery, you can do this: $(someElements).fadeOut(1000); $(someElements).remove(); Which, will start a fadeOut animation, but before it finishes executing in the 1 second duration, the elements are removed from the DOM. But how is this possible? I keep reading the JavaScript is single threaded. ( Is javascript guaranteed to be single-threaded? ) This question is not "How do I fix this?" I know I can do either: $(someElements).fadeOut(1000).promise().done(function() { $(someElements).remove();});, or even better:$(someElements).fadeOut(1000, function() { $(this).remove(); } ); What I don't understand is how JavaScript runs in a "single thread" but I'm able to use these jQuery functions that execute asynchronously and visibly see the DOM change in different places at the same time. How does it work?

    Hi All, I have created a table called table1 and it has 4 columns named Name,ID,Description and Date. I have created them like Name varchar(50) null, ID int null,Description varchar(50) null, Date datetime null I have inserted a record into the table1 having ID and Description values. So Now my table1 looks like this: Name ID Description Date Null 1 First Null One of them asked me to modify the table such a way that The columns Name and Date should have Null values instead of Text Null.     I am trying to configure Drupal 7 with Postgres. At the database setup step, I get the following error. Warning: PDO::_construct(): [2002] No such file or directory (trying to connect via unix:///var/mysql/mysql.sock) in DatabaseConnection-_construct() (line 300 of /Users/shamod/Sites/drupal/7/includes/database/database.inc). In order for Drupal to work, and to continue with the installation process, you must resolve all issues reported below. For more help with configuring your database server, see the installation handbook. If you are unsure what any of this means you should probably contact your hosting provider. Failed to connect to your database server. The server reports the following message: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] No such file or directory. Is the database server running? NOTE: I am trying to connect to Postgresql but it fails on var/mysql/mysql.sock error. I have setup the database connection string in settings.php for Postgresql. It still does not work. Any idea?

  • Get text when enter is pressed in a text box in wxPython

    I have a (single line) TextCtrl. The user types data into this. When they press enter, the contents of the box need to be extracted so they can be processed. I can't figure out how to catch enter being pressed. According to the docs, with the style wx.TE_PROCESS_ENTER set on my TextCtrl, it should generate a wx.EVT_COMMAND_TEXT_ENTER event when enter is pressed in the box, which I could then catch. However, wx.EVT_COMMAND_TEXT_ENTER seems not to exist (I get "module has no attribute EVT_COMMAND_TEXT_ENTER), so I'm a bit stuck. Googling just gets a couple of hits of people complaining wx.EVT_COMMAND_TEXT_ENTER doesn't work, so I guess I need another way of doing it.
